They are more known for their experimental side and creativity, but they are more appreciated outside the vk fandom because some got butthurt they or their friends got blocked in sns or they stopped adhering to the vk aesthetics and marketing or how they kicked out of the band the least talented but hottest member lol. The vocal melody and the way he performs it sounds like it could be from an unreleased, late-Mejibray song. The problem is that he is 1. in his shitty apartment, filming this with the same web camera he does vlogs with 2. he probably produced it himself 3. the most he could invest in a look was a suit rental, or just using the one his mom bought for him for a relative's funeral back in 2004 4. he is already sending sms to his mitsu, telling them to wire him more money for ramen or otherwise he isn't going to do this when you have such a rinky-dink start to your new project, I'm not holding out any hopes. he is my favorite bandman of the 2010's but after the 8P-SB i just can't let myself be emotionally invested anymore. now, not having a budget is not a problem... if this was a genre with some idk artistic ambition and integrity such, and not the polar opposite, which is vk. it's been a long time since we had bands like ruellia and mercuro that went on without any production values with sheer vision and T A L E N T. this isn't going to be one of those

I played as a guitarist in different bands since I was about 13 years old. When I was around 20 I used to be in a western J-Rock band for a couple of years. We played a few dozen shows, wrote around 20 songs and released an EP during that time. After we broke up, I formed an electro-metalcore band which was around for 5 years, playing shows and releasing a few CD's before eventually breaking up. Now I am basically a little burned out and fed up from the whole "band" lifestyle, the constant rehearsals and playing in front of little to no people. Playing and writing music was always a good outlet for me to balance my mind. Instead, these days I mostly focus on working out and increasing my obsession with Dir en grey.

I have SO many favorite MVs, but I think I the ones that I will list below are some that I are my all times favorite and the dearest to me. MUCC - Flight Looking back, I miss sweaty lives and people getting into each other’s business 😂. The MV adds up to the overall energetic vibe of the song! MUCC - 睡蓮 My boys literally put up an application form for everyone who wanted to join in the MV and also called some amazing dancers and performers!! This MV took my whole heart 💕. Proud to be a 夢烏 😌. DEZERT - 変態 I’m not sure how much the MV relates with the song but, they’re in a place, Chiaki is wearing a skirt, THERE IS AN ADORABLE CAT, what else do you want? Perfection 🥺💕. MERRY - 千代田線デモクラシー I mean this MV is food for the thought a lot. It really shows you the story the lyrics are telling and it makes some strong yet subtle statements and that’s what I love about Merry. MERRY - Happy Life One of my favorite songs from them is this and the MV is equally beautiful. “I don’t care what you think, I will do my best even if you throw tomatoes at me” seems to be the appropriate vibe given the lyrics of the song. I love it and I’m here for it. Though Gara mentioned that originally this MV was supposed to be shot outside, but the weather gone bad so they had to relocate in a school gym. And afterwards had to clean up all the mess they’ve made 😂.

Unfortunately the loudness wars hit vk before the mid 2000s. A handful of late 90s/early 2000s releases are among the loudest albums in my library. The waveforms on some of them look like Merzbow. I'm looking at you, Lucifer. That one's legitimately up there with Death Magnetic, Californication, et al. I think a lot of people incorrectly use "lo-fi" as a synonym for "I wish this album had more low-end." Something like Luna Sea's first album (not the re-recording) has better sound quality than Dir en Grey's last album or some other clipped-to-death modern release in terms of being able to hear everything, spaciousness, dynamics, everything being in its proper sonic space, etc. Of course it's really thin sounding, like a lot of old vk, but it's a tradeoff I'll take over brickwalling any day. Tangentially, the first Deshabillz album feels like you're watching a haunted VHS tape in some shed in a forest, and it would be a million times less creepy and awesome if it had more professional production
