Please can we have the last of years ago back. I miss it so much. Just changed computers and forgot the password to my account, but it's just not worth it to try to remember which email I used for it and try to reclaim it. I'm debating whether to make a new one or not and trying to ignore all the voices in my head saying "what for." I've actually made an actual friend through last.fm back in the day; now it's a ghost town. All the days spent looking at charts and reading through shit like the degbox... oh... -

Fuck this album was trashed by people back in the day, and now it's pretty much entirely forgotten about; all the while I thought it was great pretty much from day one and still spin it on occasion. The aesthetics have this sort of ill-dated charm to them now too. -

Yoin was one of the best songs Gazette wrote (or Aoi I should say) from 2011-2013. Ibitsu just sounds like a rearranged Shiver to me, which in turn reminded me of Regret. Anyway, I listen to Division more than Toxic and Beautiful Deformity. I think the whole split disc concept was a huge failure (especially since there was a single disc version anyway), but that at least made it easy to avoid Ruki's ill-conceived takes on industrial metal. I'm curious where they're headed next stylistically. I liked Dogma, but it was not an evolution of the band's sound in any way; it was Gazette without ballads. And I'm hoping Ruki loosens his iron grip a bit for the next album. -

甘い暴力 (Amai Bouryoku ) 1st EP 名前が無い (namae ga nai) release
Komorebi and one other reacted to Duwang for a post in a topic
As of yesterday, Amai Bouryoku has released a compilation CD of all their songs (minus 嘘キス) entitled 入門盤 (nyuumonban) ("introductory disk"). Includes 6 previously released songs along with 1 new track for only 500 yen. Tracklist: 1. 夜乙女 (yoru otome) Unfortunately this CD does not come with a lyrics booklet (probably why it's so cheap) -

2 pointsSID grew pretty quickly too. They formed towards the end of 2003, and had their first oneman tour in the autumn of 2005, and tickets sold out almost immediately. They played at Budokan on 2006.08.29 - just short of their 3rd anniversary. Other major milestones: 2010.07.31 - Saitama Super Arena (sold 32,000) 2010.12.11 - First Tokyo Dome live (sold 40,000) The rock band holding the record for the least number of days between formation and their 1st Budokan live is ViViD

1 pointHi everyone, I'd like to ask for your help, because I'm out of ideas right now. I've been building my music library for a lot of years, always aiming for good quality rips. 320kbps mp3 and 256kbps VBR AAC are good enough for me, so I'm usually not looking for lossless. However, there are some albums that can't be find in good quality mp3 or AAC - it's either FLAC or a bad transcode. In these cases, I usually download the FLAC files, convert them to ALAC (because FLAC is not supported by iTunes) with a tool called "Bigasoft Audio Converter", put the ALAC files in iTunes, then convert them to AAC. I thought this method was safe to use, because I've been told there's no quality loss when converting from lossless to lossless. Today I've been listening to a 12012 album ("mar maroon") I previously converted from FLAC to ALAC then AAC, and suddenly realised there was some kind of noise at the beginning of track 2 ("DNA") that shouldn't have been there. At first, I thought the original FLAC file was corrupted, but when I opened it, I couldn't hear any noise. Made another ALAC file, and it was there again. Then I downloaded another tool ("Mediahuman Audio Converter") hoping for a different result, but it gave me the same noisy ALAC file. Even made a WAC conversion, and that couldn't help either. My question is: do you think there's some kind of problem with this specific FLAC file, or it's something else? I'm worried that the method I've been using for years isn't as safe as I thought. The noise itself isn't that bad, but I really don't want to look through my whole library just to realize other files have the same (or worse) problem. If it helps, the FLAC file I'm talking about was previously uploaded here at MH by mucc6 (who was generous enough to share almost the whole 12012 discography in lossless - thanks a lot for that!), and I believe the same rip can be find at JPopsuki. Anyway, I've uploaded this specific track in FLAC and ALAC for those who are willing to check it: http://www.mediafire.com/file/u6aiuu6bec4jdeb/DNA.rar It's right at 0:00 in the ALAC file. Maybe you won't notice it at first, but I believe it can easily be heard if you listen closely. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks everyone, and sorry for the long post.

Fastest growing vk band of all time?
Laurence02 reacted to Takadanobabaalien for a post in a topic
This is something I've been thinking about for quite some time, I am always impressed by vk bands who manage to get huge in little to no time, but which is actually the fastest growing vk band of all time? I can't find any listing like this online, so if anybody knows any bands who progressed really really fast, feel free to write about them here. The first one that comes to mind for me is LUNA SEA January 1989 - start band activities (no label deal). December 1989 - Sold out Machida playhouse (150 tickets sold). (Just for measure, I've never seen Grieva sell more than 250 tickets/gig in their 6 year career). November 1990 - Sold out Meguro Live station two days straight (500 tickets sold) March 1991 - Nuclear Fusion Tour (/w Gilles de Rais & Sighs of Love potion) sold out Shibuya Kokaido (2080 tickets sold) April 1991 - To celebrate their debut album @ extasy records, they giged at Shinjuku Nissin Power station. (800 tickets sold out in less than 30 minutes) September 1991 - Under the new moon tour final @ nihon aonenkan (1250 tickets sold) December 1991 - to match the fan request they announced two days gig at nihon aonenkan (2500 tickets sold). August 1993 - first Budoukan gig (two days, which eventually turned into one day because a typhoon destroyed part of the building) (14,000~ tickets sold) December 1995 - first Tokyo Dome gig (56,000 tickets sold) So, after signing with Extasy in 1990, going major in 1991 (a mere year later) to having their first dome gig 4 years afterwards, and getting it sold out. I think it's very impressive. I'm sure there must be bands who have managed to do it equally fast, or even faster though? -
1 pointI actually like DIVISION more than BEAUTIFUL DEFORMITY. But I do find Ibitsu very forgettable especially since like Saishu said it sounds like way too similar to Shiver. My first Gazette album was STACKED RUBBISH and I honestly disliked it very much at first. I only decided to give them another chance when DIM was released because of all the hype i kept hearing about in different forums and I'm so glad I gave them a second chance. Hell I even like STACKED RUBBISH now and listen it a lot (still hate Filth in the beauty). DOGMA was great for me because it was on the more br00tal side but Gazette does shine more in ballads in my opinion which DOGMA lacked. honestly i just hope they don't fully ditch the electronic part of their sound that started to show since TOXIC because that is the main reason i love them so much. But they should keep the br00tal vocals and the shuga shug shug from time to time.

last fm was also easily the best site to search for concerts in an area. all the other options these days are so shit that you just have to either remember all the bands you listen to and go to their OHP, or know all the venues in town and check their sites. sincerely die a painful death everyone involved in ruining last.fm -
1 pointTo be quite frank, twitter's conditions for what should be shadowbanned are downright D U M B in overall. Even if the idea itself is much older than Twitter (going back to those vBulletin heydays with "stealthbanning") - retarded concept nonetheless.

1 pointDisagree about 絶望, I like that song. As for Chiyoda line, I used to love it when NO SMART first came out (as I loved every track), but it doesn't really hold up anymore... at least not when you listen to it in the context of the full album.

1 pointKind of wish LAB. THE BASEMENT would start making new music again, or that Ao would start up some other solo side-project. His voice is rather unique and I feel like he could deliver some more (post-)punk / new wave-inspired goodness, but at this point I feel like he's comfortable enough just sticking to cali gari. DALLE is fucking garbage and they have literally 1 (one) good song dummy-xD are INCREDIBLY slept on (even tho their vocalist seems to have the same helium dealer as Yumesleep's one)

RAZOR new single "LIQUID VAIN" release
zombieparadise reacted to chemicalpictures for a post in a topic
I actually like Ryoga, he can do some serious cool stuff with his voice (ANOTHER is a beast of a song that he nails so hard, for example) What I meant was more about the style of composition in some bits of their songs. Taking LIQUID VAIN for example, the chorus is completely born-ish. that's when I think they lack the most, and also believe it's where probably there's more imput of the other members besides Kouryu. Then listen to the first/main verse and riffs. NOW THAT'S Kouryu as fuck. This longer preview sounds excellent, besides the HORRIBLE chorus that drags the song down so hard. Ryoga screams are really on point, the instrumentals are all packing some punch (besides the flat equalization someone mentioned before), but that chorus is a cold shower -
