Savage new look!

Hello. I just found this website and saw a visual kei section and so I signed up. I'm 26 and I have been listening to Visual Kei for 12 years now. I don't really know a lot of the recent stuff, I just have the bands that I already know and like XD The bands I've known the longest are Dir En Grey and the Gazette, that I used to listen to when I was 14. Geeze that's so long ago. Back in dem days you either got your Visual Kei from limewire or people who were kind enough to share mp3s on their sites, like this one graphic artist who made Visual Kei avatars and other graphics. I'd really love some friends who are into Visual Kei. Though I hear the interest in western countries is dying. I know that the community is small in Australia, and even smaller in my city, Melbourne. (It's a very toxic place...) So... Making friends on the internet it is lololol

That beautiful gritty distortion....it's all gone...they stripped away one of the most key defining characteristics of their sound.

Got my copy today from CDJapan. This album is simply amazing. All the songs are notable, the production is on point and well beyond what is generally expected for VK, and it overall lives up to the hype generated from the three songs we got in preview. I'm sure it will be worth the wait for everyone else whose copy hasn't arrived yet. And to be honest, I didn't realize there was this much skill in Retsu and Ryuya's guitar playing. Of course, Hiroshi is a much better drummer than Issei ever was, so that probably allows them to demonstrate their skill a lot more now. It's pretty heavy overall, but there is diversity in the stylistic choices in the songwriting. There are a couple of ballad-ish songs (Malformation, D.Hymnus), but the final track 「人」と「形」is the most like that. Otherwise Vanitas probably comes closest to that Avalon-like Ballad feel. I noticed that the 3 preview songs all say the music is by Retsu, but in the lyric booklet every song composition is credited as 02. Retsu is the 2nd member credited in the band members, so... I dunno lol

This band wasn’t anything special before Issei left because they were more or less Periphery fronted by a Kyo stan. And Issei’s drum tone was garbage. Hiroshi sounds like he’s actually back there playing a real drum kit.

Distorted water sounds is the best I can come up with when it comes to a common concept.

Not gonna lie, it's a pretty hard album to digest. Will have to listen to it a few more times...

I've been following these guys,bcuz their music reminds me a lot when I got into vk stuff when I was 14 years old in 2010 and simply fell in love with those jazzy tracks from early R-shitei and early the gazette. nostalgic sound

LOOOOLLL WTF IS THISSSS

this album is serving para:noir/d.i.d. worship act even harder than w/e they recorded with issei tbh. they have such a weird penchant for over-elongated intros given the average to short track length they went with. the sreeching thing overuses his baby voice gimmick on too many songs. their SE work is just lame. I liked grotesque and d. hymnus, but this album made me miss akane even harder, they barely filled his niche in the scene.

First thoughts: best nu track is 2. That fucking Aie riff with the prog elements are the shit. The vocalist really goes all out on this one, and the best stuff he does is usually fairly subtle, like how he alters the tone of the whisper and the incomprehensible screaming from song to song. the worst are 7 and 10. The first is almost a nokubura song ( probably intended for lives ) and the 10 just a snoozer 'cause it lacked the cool progressive elements they did before, so it doesn't really surprise at any point, just lulls ahead. 4 and 8 are so over the top they're good, especially the latter. it shows that they're still not that far gone from their early output, even if it now contains more superior songwriting elements and straight up experimentation with computer efx and all that other shit. the tracks that were released before are still awesome, and almost kind of surprisingly I think they're at their strongest with tracks like Vanitas and GROTESQUE where it's not _all that_ stupid heavy without getting rid of the elements and techniques. That long scream in Vanitas is still incredible What I think pretty much everyone wanted without getting was that long song, but I think the pre-released tracks and GROTESQUE and the last track are kind of already that, except shorter. None of them is formulaic by any means and have a lot of cool stuff in them that a band like say, DIR EN GREY would never have in a track they'd put out as a single. You know it's probably a matter of time before they churn out that 10 minute epic, it's just a matter of them disbanding before that 'cause one of the members impregnated a member of the royal family or something.

Haha, yeah, it's so much fun to play. There are a bunch of pros out there and I'm not even close to their league. I play it every day hoping that I'll get better over time. x)

lol, don't worry, every single one in the trenches sucks, don't let a bad teammate take the fun out of the game for you. Really, nobody has any clue of what they're doing AT LEAST until something like Nova Master or something. Thankfully, CS is one of the few team games that one person CAN carry the weight for the team, so you won't have to depend on them that much Work on your spray, on learning the most important smokes and how to manage team economy and you rise in the ranks sooner or later

Probably another compilation/best of release, or like a 1 day revival. But, I honestly won't wince unless I hear about some sort of legit reformation. I try my best, but neither FED nor Breakn Holiday (?I think?) really do it for me, in comparison. If it's time to over-hype two ambiguous twitter posts, sign me the fuck up Basiiiically, the key is leda and juri being in a band again. Would be a shame if 10 years passed and they still didn't realize how G they were together

@nekkichi is correct, and it is also important to consider the culture of the boards as well. Even in the English-speaking world, a report of rape or murder or suicide will be presented in a much different way on Twitter or Tumblr than on say, 4chan or Encyclopedia Dramatica. Tanuki/2ch are extremely blase and candid about sordid topics and sounding "self-pitying" (for lack of better words) would be extremely frowned upon given the board's culture. It is not a nice place. People mock suicide victims and eagerly discuss their desire to commit child abuse. While I understand the reports are just as unverifiable as anything else on Tanuki, it seems irresponsible to make judgments on what a woman's report on this type of thing "should sound like", especially for those who are not familiar with the posting culture & for those who haven't experienced or witnessed the societal and scene-specific issues mentioned in the post above.

Been addicted to playing CS:GO recently. I'm a noob teammate though. I'd be surprised if I didn't get kicked out of the server because of my playing.

I like the fact that reita Bass Can be heard again. But for the rest of the production DOGMA sounded better, it's Like more detailed sound. I read an interview, it seems like Uruha mixed 3 songs on this album.

That whole song was on point, and I loved that chorus. When you can sound like a whistling kettle for 20 seconds and work it in your song, tastefully, is an achievement.
