らせん (Rasen) (Crucifixion x La'Veil MizeriA side project) will be releasing a new single "切断" (Setsudan) on August 9th. It will be sold their live at 恵比寿clubaim (Enbisu clubaim) for 1,000 yen. A track listing was not revealed, but based on their other 1,000 yen singles, it will most likely contain two songs. Also, they also released an additional single on May 6th called "死化粧" (Shigeshou). I don't recall seeing a thread here about that, but that's out floating around in space for you kote-kei collectorz out there. 1. 縋想 (Sugasou) 2. 死化粧 (Shigeshou)

Their output has been a bit hit & miss for me, but they've definitely got my attention, so I'm keeping an eye on them. I like LIQUID VAIN, but those harsh vocals kinda ruin it for me. Really diggin the melodic-punk vibes on 邪崩 tho,

Such a shame to finally see them going I first found out about them from a Sugar cover band that most of their members were in, and had followed them since. Real shame that almost all of their stuff was live-limited :/

Wow I can't believe I haven't posted about the album until now: I. LOVE. IT. Not at all disappointed, I just found their choice for the title track to be questionable (it's my least favorite on the album). My favorite is definitely track #5. I'm always a sucker for their use of the piano As someone mentioned here earlier, some of the tracks are definitely...danceable (namely #9. It'd be so fun to hear live!). I also hear some slight industrial elements throughout this album that I totally dig. I'm glad that they're trying some new things! The collab tracks were okay, with mama being my favorite one. Gara did a GREAT job, and now I gotta look into MERRY more :^)

He's definitely improved a lot since their first single. And in VK where a lot of singers either sound the same or can't sing at all I think kouki is like a hidden gem.

REDEEMER and MONSTERS would have been better if you turned each into a mini album and then combined them together. Some people's opinions have become more positive of the last two albums but my headcanon has D'espairsRay firmly disbanding at 2007. Even in my post about bands I missed, I made it very explicit that I don't care about anything post-MIRRORS like at all. There are some cuts on REDEEMER I like, but the entire album reeks of lack of anti-depressants fueling the music much like MUCC's sterile Houyoku sounds like the audio equivalent of disinfectant wipes. Pop never suited D'espairsRay and while people are allowed to grow and address their problems it should not be at the expense of their music. The B-sides for REDEEMER hinted that they know how to write metal (Cocoon, Bullet, Scissors) but the album was missing the juice. And then I'm not going to mention how much they hyped up "electronic effects" that were supposed to be a new feature of MONSTERS and then only the first track had it and the rest of the album was considerably less electronic than [coll:set]; which by the way [coll:set] is a fucking classic and if you can't into it i am genuinely sad for you.

You can tell there actually aren't that many unpopular opinions in this thread, because the second you actually post one it turns into a page long polemic within the span of a single day @CAT5 I agree. Their alt-rockiness feels more western and direct, and it's something they took straight from the source to fit their own sound and concept, and not like how it usually works in vk where you get the western influence second-hand by looking up to a domestic band. I also don't think there's a vk band that sounds like d'espairsray, so that's something. RAN OUT OF POSITIVE THINGS TO SAY i can't even listen to stuff like maverick these days. I immediately get this mental image of whatever comes up when you google "fishnet goth"

well yes i am referring them to the 2010+, specially the new ones after the older bands disbanding, then later on suddenly the ones forming a new band or some old bands Reforming under a different name.

    Show off your Rig

Rather 'oldish' pic I ditched the Fractal Define XL and went with a Corsair 760T in white. In this pic there are 2xGTX 970s in SLi but I ditched them last year for a single 1070. Ive also got a 512GB Samsung 850 Pro but the handle of the side panel is hiding it. Ive also added more ram so now im at 32GBs Everythings still the same otherwise. [email protected] and X79 Pro. Not really much needs doing with this PC. Would love to get a 1080Ti but I dont think it would be worth it given how much I game these days. (Damn, I wish i was unemployed again -- id spend all night and day just gaming)

    Show off your Rig

Took a spooky night video of my new rig. Dual GTX 1080s in SLI, i7-5820k, 40 GB of Corsair Dominator ram (though windows is acting kinda buggy and only detecting 32), and more HDDs than is probably sane (3TB in SSDs, 8TB in mechanical) all slapped on an ASUS R5E in a Lian-Li DK-04 desk case. This thing really powers the fuck out of some spreadsheets because I never have time to play games :'3

Their first release was amazing. I could clearly hear how much Koryu and Tetsuya brought music-wise, Tsurugi added a lot as well on top of that. The other two.... The title songs are kinda weird, which is not the main problem. The b-sides are so vanilla, that a thought appeared that they do them purely to please their female fans. And there's zero-to-none of elements that made their first release to stand out in the world of visual-kei.

Why can't we just move on when we see people doing what they feel like on social media and the internet in general? Decidedly it seems like you can't be a proper human being w/o being judgmental and fucking rude.

@nostalgiaI translated it as "Cove Sun" from the Spanish "Caleta" meaning Cove and the French "Soleil" meaning Sun. I did it from Katakana since that's how it's written and usually meant to indicate a foreign word. So Caleta and Soleil are from two different origins. Cove Sun sounds weird, but I sort of picture it as light filtering though rocks in a cove.

    Overrated/underrated Jrock singers

I think Kaya is grossly underrated. I don't care for most of his music due to it not being my taste, but his range is out of this world. There are some songs that he's released that really blow me away--the piano version of Last Snow comes to my mind immediately--but there are a handful of others that showcase his talent and it really does bother me that he's not more popular, or at the very least, more recognised. Overrated, definitely KAMIJO. I don't even want to touch that one.
