DIMLIM Ba.Tsubasa & Dr.Issei will depart
Devilish_Eye and 4 others reacted to Himeaimichu for a post in a topic
Summary: I'm an edgelord who bullies underage fans but I don't want to admit it, so I'm making a fake apology to make myself seem noble, but leaving out the fact that I bullied underage fans. Oh also, I'm shit at marketing and likes to address fans as "Motherfuckers" like I'm some sailor. But I also won't admit that, because I want to look like the victim, because I'm probably clinically a narcissist. -

I was reading that part all wrong. He's pointing out that he wasn't nice to members of the band/staff (and fans) and he couldn't grow as an artist BECAUSE of the band. Not in-leu of the band. AKA: they kicked him out, but since he's the leader, he can't say it that way. -

Why did gackt leave Malice Mizer: Discussion
PsychoΔelica reacted to desparejo86 for a post in a topic
It bothers me that Malice Mizer has and probably will never reunite and make another album. I think they would have already had the financial prospects been attractive enough, but I've always believed money was the reason they broke up in the first place (too much overhead), and Mana is fine with doing M10M. Cheaper band to run and he keeps the lion's share of the money. But I don't like M10M and Kozi's ZIZ band is awful. I wish Mana could talk Klaha into quitting his job at the car wash or whatever the hell he does these days and give it one more go. Yu~Ki is probably bartending or something, he can't get one night a week off to practice? Come on. I'd also love a Die in Cries reunion but that won't happen because of D'erlanger. -

#104: キズ (Kizu) - 蛙-Kawazu-
Visutox reacted to The Reverend for a post in a topic
Tracklist: 1. 蛙-Kawazu- 2. ラブソング 3. ELISE (Type-A only) 4. 十五 (Type-B only) |Prosaic, but with potential Should a band be held accountable for not living up to hype created by fans before they’ve released a single note of music or even revealed their identities? That’s the question I pondered as I listened to キズ (Kizu's) second, and newest, maxi-single 蛙-Kawazu-. The conjecture surrounding Kizu started near the beginning of this year when a red and black flier was handed out at VK venues with precious little information other than the name of the band, details of their first show, and a phone number prominently displayed. Callers of the phone number were greeted by a recording informing them that the band would listen to “your pain, your worries, displeasure, and anxiety”. All VK fans had to work with was a new, mysterious, melodramatic, emo as hell band that had left no direct clues about the members’ identities; not even a group shot in silhouette or with the faces obscured by masks! The biggest clue being that the other bands performing at Kizu's first show (DOGinthePWO, Unite) were popular bands in the scene, so this new band must be made up of people with connections… probably from playing in bands with some success themselves. This wasn’t a bunch of newbies who would be unknown whether or not their names and faces were public knowledge! Little by little more info leaked out of the Kizu camp (the vocalist of the band would actually answer calls to their number, more fliers with references to despair and scars and blood and loneliness) but still no one was quite sure who was in this new band. Theories about vocalists from all sorts of recently disbanded acts were entertained. One that gained traction that I hoped would turn out to be true was that this was Karma from Avelcain’s new band. The signs were all there: Karma is the queen of teen-angst-zetsubou and these promotional materials for Kizu had that in spades. When it was finally revealed that the vocalist was Lime previously of Lezard there was a collective “not bad… but I wish it had been *insert my favorite vocalist who isn’t in a band right now*”. By the time their first (extremely energetic and polished) PV came out many people had already come down from their speculative excitement. With all that being said, what about the actual songs? The music is not the backdrop for despair that their promo fliers would imply, which is a blessing because Lime is a capable vocalist but it’s hard to imagine him pretending to cut his wrists or mumbling to himself trying to quiet the demons in his head. In fact, the least worthwhile parts of this maxi-single come when Lime tries to showcase his harsh vocals. Too much of "ラブソング (Love Song)" is marred by Lime trying to contort his voice into shapes it just wasn’t meant to fit into. He’s much better highlighting his slightly staccato, higher range such as in the otherwise rather moribund "十五 (Juugo)". Kizu is at their best playing the frenetic, vaguely djent-inspired fast-paced VK you can hear in the title track "蛙-Kawazu-" or after the jarring Beethoven intro homage has ended in "Elise". When the big riffs and digital effects combine into some bouncy, undeniably fun rock'n'roll you can see why Kizu have scheduled a second oneman live at Tsutaya O-West less than a year from their formation and having released only two singles. Ultimately, I'd place my bets on the slightly brasher Razor or the even more scatter-brained Lack-co to be the 'winners' of these djent-kei experiments, but if Kizu can continue to channel the relentless energy of the performances in their PVs (shoutout to them for the throwback 'VK band in the woods' video) into their live shows and releases they should be able to make a name for themselves in the crowded and often staid VK landscape. Support the band: CDJapan -

This incident was out of both Kinetic Vibe and V STAR PROMOTIONS hands, as we both had nothing to do with the control of electricity for the convention. the electricity went out around the whole area, the staff of the convention worked hard to restore electricity, but it is unfortunate that because of this the remainder of MORRIGAN’s set needed to be canceled. We greatly appreciate the honor to perform at Lucca Comic and Games, however at a large outdoor convention concert, things like this our out of our control. the remainder of the stops are in live houses organized by Kinetic Vibe, so we will not have the same issue again. -

also @ZeusComing here to set the facts about Dir en grey straight: This is incorrect, Setsuna was a WIP project song by Dir en grey that developed over the course of 1997 (starting out as 5 minutes and evolving into a nearly 7 minute track) until finally being scrapped in the first half of 1998 for reasons unknown. Whether Setsuna was an official title or one given to it by fans is still subject to speculation. "Ai Murasaki Iro" Is in fact pronounced "Ranshishoku" based on a newspaper interview which I scanned and upped some year ago from a indie magazine made in early 1998. I know this due to the fact that the name was written out in katakana. It's the onyomi pronunciation of the same kanji. They played this song at every oneman live starting from August 1997 until their last indies live at the Budokan, after which it was scrapped due to poor audience response, supposedly. They had another unreleased longer track that they played throughout the second half of 1997 and on and off into early 1998 which then subsequently disappeared as well. No known title for this track. There was an early version of Mazohyst of Decadence played from 1997 which differed slightly. raison detre had a early quite different version which premiered at their oneman tour in late 1997 and evolved into it's current form during 1998. ZAN is also one of the earliest songs they wrote, and it was played from their first tour in april 1997 and onwards in various stages of evolution until it arrived at the GAUZE form in late 1998. Tsumi to Batsu was also performed during their last indies tour in a slightly different format. They also premiered two new songs at the DUM SPIRO SPERO and Kisou part of the recent tour respectively which haven't been mentioned or played since. I could go on but I think that'll do for now. -

[HELP] Sakrun - song name?
Laurence02 reacted to Keiyuu for a post in a topic
Yes, this is very early SAKRUN. According to the description it's their initial line-up. I think the uploader of the video is actually their first bassist SHINGO. https://twitter.com/no_shingo Well, the video title says ディパーチャ so I'd say it's the songtitle? They had a demotape in the early days called 媚薬. I don't know the tracklist but maybe that song is on it as well. -

Why did gackt leave Malice Mizer: Discussion
alehandroll reacted to desparejo86 for a post in a topic
Gackt was just one of three different singers Malice Mizer had, he had nothing to do with their breakup. Never heard that rumor before; 100% started by a western fan who was pulling stuff out of her ass. Anyone with a musical ear can tell that Mana and Kozi had no hand in writing Gackt's solo material. Apples and Oranges. Gackt was likely not at Kamis funeral for the reason listed in my reply below. I don't know what official statements Gackt, Mana, or Kozi have made because we don't really need to, ya know? None of them will tell you what occam's razor will, because it's not flattering to either party. Nippon Columbia decided that Malice Mizer were small potatoes and Gackt was the star. And they were right! Gackt wrote the highest charting single on Mervilles, Le Ciel, which also happened to be the most commercial song on the album. Gackt had the great voice, incredible looks, a legion of female fans and he wrote the biggest hit on the album. He was poised for stardom, Malice Mizer could hold him back. So Nippon Columbia put their money on Gackt solo and ditched the band, and their gamble paid off in spades. People tend to gloss over/forget, possibly due to Kamis death, that not only did Malice Mizer's label give Gackt a solo deal, but they dropped Malice Mizer. That wasn't a coincidence. It is what it is. I hate Gackt solo, but wouldn't trade Bara no Seidou or the Klaha singles for anything. I just wish we'd get one more album out of MM.... instrumental, with Klaha, a new singer... I don't care.
