When people say that they need rational and empirical evidence that God exists, I just imagine one of two scenarios happening: #1. The world's top scientists publishing a study called "Proof of God" with said evidence. or #2. God appearing in a humanoid form and showing the world that he has control over everything by performing various miracles. In both cases, this would completely miss the point of "believing" in God. I guarantee that most of us would see all of that proof and "empirical evidence", and the world would not change a bit. We'd see it and say "oh, that's cool.", then go back to treating each other like shit.

There's one guy making these top PV videos on youtube on a monthly basis and when you get through one of them you'll think "I never heard of any of these fucking bands" and they sometimes actually look like they got money behind them as well. fantastic resource to see what's going on the scene as long as you know what you're getting into. of course most of the bands sound "generic" because the amount of bands is absurdly high and that's how this music always sounds like anyway with slight variations.
  7. 3 points
Fair point about the guy spamming and just trying to get free stuff, it isn't hard to put a bit of money aside for buying music so yeah that is a bit shitty and yep, you're not under any obligation to share stuff you have paid good money for if you do not wish to. But yeah, the point regardless is still fact, that it DOES cost more to get Japanese stuff from overseas, and the point I was making that for the same price you can get a lot more bang for the buck so the fact the CDs are overpriced in the first place (yes I know they're all generally 20 somethings trying to make a living and its helping keep them "in the scene" etc.... so no need to go there) is just difficult to justify, £20 for a full length album, £10/15 for a two/three song single or £30/40 for a live DVD..... c'mon..... As I said, for bands I do really love I will still support them and buy the stuff, but I just personally find it hard to justify when you can get way more for the same prices not from Japan. haha. + Just on an ending note, you have a crappy attitude in general (at least the way you portray yourself through this forum), so you may need to look at keeping that in check. Just saying. lol.

It’s 2020 and people still arguing over buying a CD?!? We have iTunes and we have streaming services these days. Even the most indie western band would have their songs upped. What’s that? Your obscure Japanese bands are not? Well, blame them for being elitist in turn for irrelevancy. Ironic. Like honestly, support when/if you can. It is not mandatory. Especially if your faves are attached to label. Unless self produced, those munnies would mostly ended up to the labels and producers bank accounts. However, it will ensure your band to not be dropped for having low sales. But if you wanna support your bandomen and ensure that they would afford their next bowl of Yarou Ramen, or their Gucci/Chrome Hearts earrings, then you better be buying official bands merchs and/or attending their shows if/when they make stops to your area or nearby. much like drag queens, those bookings fee is how these bandomen paying their bills..., and some gari gari kun for that matter.

    Gin (ex Ecrin) new project

Gin (former drummer of ECRIN) created his solo project, his name is 「イ ル カ が 唄 う 、 午前 2 時」 it is unknown who will be the support members ... but apparently it will only be an instrumental project. The project was announced on December 24, 2019: 🥰🥰🥰

The new single is on spotify: I fuckin love this band. There's something about downy's music that's almost always initially difficult to wrap my ears around...but then when it finally clicks, I just end up loving it. Took about one or two listens for that to happen with this song. The remix is pretty dope too. Sad that Yutaka passed away, but I'm curious how an album without him is gonna sound like. I'm somehwat familiar with SUNNOVA...He's a hip hop producer with an experimental edge iirc, so this should be interesting! edit: i'm not a huge fan of the of drum kit they've been using since the 6th album (i preferred the drums from 5th)...they sound a bit muffled to me, but this is honestly a VERY minor grievance. I LOVE the way Robin's vocals are mixed here tho. Not as dry as on 6th, but not as heavily effected as on 5th.

or he could be a half! but yassss, this looks HOT from what i can understand, yes, and there will be new songs. the drummer personally wishes to write songs that are slower, grotesque, and vomit-inducing but i'm guessing he's not one of the main writers. their final tour will be at shinjuku blaze on 11/22 and there might be some more announcements later. he also mentions that the new bassist has some nice guns.

Hello folks, This time I am not interested in your "disbanded" favorites. However I am interested in your "active" favorites. Only from "recent bands" Bands born between 2012 and 2020. Also please only mention bands you REALLY follow. Not just one you like, Mention those only who you really "care, care" about. So, THE GAZETTE and DIR EN GREY and some other ojisan bands are out of this questionnaire. Please do not mention them. If you don't know when your favorite band started you can check it on vk.gy If you don't feel to answer it on this forum you can use this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/15CAZOQz0Qww6AqJCuxvuyLNZ4q0kK8GtmdUd9InWb5U/edit Also those bands aren't included 😛 SCAPEGOAT 2009 CODOMO DRAGON (コドモドラゴン) 2010 Missa (魅裟)2003 Scarlet Valse 2011 Kamijo 2003 Kiryu 2007 lynch. 2004

    What did you last eat?

Oooh hmm fish sauce and curry paste is fresh for many months, or years haha so that is good ingredients same thing when it comes to broth, I use the powder ones that you mix with water haha I usually freeze my food in the freezer so that I can eat it during the week. Usually I make a huuuge meal enough for a whole week, that way you save money actually ❤️ Frozen vegetables is great if you live alone or don't eat that much. I prefer fresh vegetables tho but I just buy enough for the cooking so nothings goes to waste ❤️ Meat is expensive and doesn't last that long unless it's frozen. I prefer vegan options because they last longer and doesn't go dangerously bad like meat does 😂 I keep it in the freezer and just use enough for the meal. Vegan options are very cheap so if you don't manage to eat it all, it's not that wasteful when it comes to the economical part. You can also use cauliflower instead of meat, very cheap and you can fry it, boil it and stuff! Very healthy and you feel full from a very small amount ❤️ you can even shred it and use it instead of rice. Vegan options for meat doesn't usually taste that good on it own. I usually treat it like real meat, put it in marinade and cook it with broth to give it a meaty flavour! Coconut milk or cream in cans last for a very long time, many years! Canned food also. Test different kinds of canned vegetables etc and you will find some favourites. Rice, pasta, onion, potato, carrots etc also lasts for a very long time! If you want more varied food I suggest you to look up different recipes using the same ingredients, that way you don't need to buy that much food and you can cook different meals from the same ingredients ❤️ I used to be very thin too, I found it easier to eat soup back then, maybe try that? Soups are very easy to make, just put in whatever you like in some vegetable or meat broth and water. You can even use cream, coconut milk or regular milk to make the soup thicker and that makes you more full I usually drink vegetable broth and eat some crackers or fruit for breakfast or whenever I feel hungry, I only eat one "real" meal a day with rice, potato etc haha So hmmm.... just buy food once a week and plan your meals ❤️ usually in recipes they tell you how many servings you get out of the recipe, that's good because you will now how many days it will last you ❤️

Hiro was on twitter mentioning lives he'd been a part in the last few days, but I really don't know if he was talking about session bands or orcalade It's really strange for a band to go into this absolute silence while the members are all around still tweeting, with the band on their profile and whatnot In any case, glad for clearveil boys, would hope the vocalist fella I forgot the name would comeback aswell

    What did you last eat?

I'm making gaeng ped atm, "vegetarian", kind of haha... not really but w/e It's fake chicken made of qourn, red curry paste, onion, red pepper, red chili, parsley and chives that I wok in a pan Added coconut milk, fish sauce, chicken broth, palm sugar and lime juice. Bring it to a boil and it's done. Added some more parsley to it, didn't have that much vegetables because it's too expensive haha, should be broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, bamboo shots and sugar snaps in it too but whatever haha Served it with jasmine rice omnom

    What Manga are you reading?

Gotte back into reading some manga after figuring out I can get away with reading as much as I want at work lol. Over the past month I've read Monster and Death Note in its entirety. I've seen both anime plenty of times but never read the manga for it. Monster is probably more or less as faithful as an adaptation as it can get, death note on the other hand felt pretty different. Especially during major 2nd half with Near and Mello. Also read a manga called Aoharu x Machinegun at my friends request because it's her favorite. Also read the new Death Note one shot that came out just this past monday, I thought it was a bit dull but it's still good to see Near and Ryuk again. And right now I'm keeping up with Gleipnir, the Promised Neverland, and Dr. Stone all of which I really enjoy and cant wait to see how each series continues and eventually ends. In terms of other manga I plan on starting/catching up with, I'm probably leaning towards Chainsaw Man, Blue Exorcist, and One Piece (yes I'm serious lol)

Based on gya twitter, they currently don’t like western fans showing up in Ikebukuro and telling everyone they’re “half” when they’re 75% French Canadian, 25% Irish

I think most of the gazette vs dir en grey was someone on each side being a troll, and a lot of the people involve (sadly myself included) at the time were very young and impressionable. I saw it mainly on deviantart of all places, and sometimes LJ but I wasn't as active on there. I don't hear anything about the supposed war anymore other than a few troll comments on videos, but /shrug.
  41. 1 point
This must be the most outlandish and fantastic fan theory I ever heard. Like aimi said according to every interview they've ever put out that I've read they pretty much were dudes in the local scene jumping from band to band and eventually the present formation sans Kai formed out of the corpses of these local bands. They were never affiliated with each other in any way since they were on totally different labels and based in a different city. All the bands that have deg associations are from the Dynamite Tommy family like Merry and Rentrer En Soi. If I'm not mistaken some Gazette members like Kai and Ruki had day jobs before making it big too, so any roadie story is just unlikely when deg was consistently touring the country from the moment of their inception and gazette dudes had barely had their first bands by the year 2000. I think the rivalry is the invention of western fans because in Japan they have nothing to do with each other

I don't know, I think there's still a crazy high amount of bands forming constantly. At least I've always felt it kinda overwhelming, lol. I mean if you check the first few pages of the News subforum there are like a dozen newly formed bands within the past 3-4 months.
  45. 1 point
It's either that we're getting less newer bands or people in the overseas scene are simply digging less deeply & not reporting on every single session band / new band that forms and disbands a week later anymore

I don't care about the visuals in VK: I say this is an unpopular opinion because I've been told countless times that it's impossible not to care about the visuals and anyone that says that is lying and on and on. But I don't and I never have. I have some kind of sick attraction to the music itself, but I don't give a flying fuck about the band's appearance and would prefer they didn't look so ridiculous if I had a choice, just so it'd be less embarrassing to point them out to people.
