put them on ice and give them an opportunity to come back themselves. a year after no communication likely taking place whatsoever you'll probably fill the place they occupied in your life with either different friends, or new hobbies, or just some self-love/TLC time. don't message them first ever again. -

As hard as it is, considering the history you two probably have together, the best thing for the both of you might just to end the relationship. Maybe not for good, but for now it seems that she isn't putting the same effort into the relationship you are. I've had situations like this, and decided that I needed to take care of myself first and not waste my energy on people who could care less about me. -
3 pointsThis is an interesting topic and is being discussed more maturely than I had anticipated. From my experience and interests, I used to despise K-Pop. But it is a lot of fun if you like it for your own reasons. I would even go as far to say as the Visual Kei fandom is quite similar but on a smaller scale due to how large or small the communities are. Both focus around liking sub-cultures and, while not all of them, most listen exclusively to groups that fall with in those sub-cultures. I, myself, listen to a lot of different things as of late. Not just Japanese or Korean music. As for the fandoms, toxicity is not unique to the kpop culture, it exists just as prominently in the visual kei fan base as well as any other other fan base. Kpop groups charge high prices for meet and greets and concert tickets, while Visual Kei groups host in store events that require you to also spend a lot of money to get a ticket or to be able to meet/have a photo with all the members. In Visual Kei there are fans who follow exclusively one band, and in Kpop there are fans who follow exclusively one group. There are crazy obsessive fans in VK and in Kpop but both also have communities in which people have met really close friends and made memories together that are priceless. As for the music, that's really left to the individual. One may say all kpop sounds the same while another says all visual kei sounds the same. As much as we'd all like to defend our favorites and say that Dir en grey or BTS are so original, it's just not that true. In todays day and age and how people really learn music through the influence of other musicians, there is no one artist who simply picked up an instrument and made something that wasn't at least similarly done by someone on this earth filled with approximately 7.5 billion people. It's more so about being genuine with how you use music as a universal language. That's just me. But I'm sure if i had the time, I could find a lot more lesser known garage bands or bedroom DJs who make more genuine music than a most of massively known artists, but it would be impossible for one person to find them all. So instead of thinking of originality maybe just look at it as "Does this speak to me? Do I vibe with this? Is it genuine?" and just follow what makes you feel good. Do I think people just like Kpop groups for the hot boys? Absolutely, but I also think the same about some fans of visual kei bands. For some people, the music does come first. I'm quite picky when it comes to either side. I have an acquired taste and I know what sort of feeling or vibes I like. Mejibray was really popular, but I just couldn't get in to them musically. TXT is really popular, but their music didn't really vibe with me. It just depends on the person. My last final opinion, based on my own mistakes, denying yourself from listening to something because of the other people who like it... I don't think that's a true opinion of your thoughts on the music regardless of the genre. If you like something, you don't need to partake in the culture of it to enjoy it.

Thanks everyone. I deleted her on FB and said something about lousy friends on IG, apparently the shoe did fit because she was outraged that I was "treating her like shit". So, bye. Sucks that her sister who barely knows me did notice I was having an awful time and asked when I was free so we'd meet for coffee and chat. -

Aries here
anadentone reacted to Aries for a post in a topic
Hi. I already made a few posts so I think it's required to say a few things about me. Aries is my zodiacal sign and easy to pronunciate and remember, I think it fits in forums and such places, that's why I choose it. I am a girl, painter, photographer and interior designer by education. Outside of this I am animal rights defender, activist, vegan, dog mom and some other beasts adopter. I like classic vehicles, Dodge Challenger '69, Chevy Camaro, Delorean and such old beauties. Love gardening, plants at all. Love sea and forest, private quiet evenings, loud music fests, scandinavian culture, asian culture, balcan culture, I like finding out more facts about more things, it's good to take good parts of different cultures to improve ourselves. I love wolves, owls, ravens. My favourite movie is The Crow. Love gothic culture and music. And chocolate! 😉 -

Dr.宵-Show=Lastar-氏 has departed from the band as of 10/1, and Bodhran (a special kind of drum) drummer 獣兵衛 (Kemobee) (ex-Sherella, Arte Macchina (as Vo.Jim)) has joined; he had been appearing as a "limited character" (support member?) since May 4. If you’re wondering how long it normally takes for the seller to send an invoice, it depends on the seller. It’s been years since I’ve used Discogs (it’s mostly flippers in Europe), but the longest I’ve had to wait for an invoice is 12 hours. -

Gesu reacted to colorful人生 for a post in a topic
Yo, this is pretty decent. I know Yui has appreciable harsh vocal skills b/c of songs like "world wide wish" and "love core duck nothing", but this knocks it out of the park for them in the heavy department. 黒ユナイト (from what I've heard) has been a mixed bag for me b/c I never found the dark concepts to suit them, unless it was playfully dark like "ice". Their last releases as ユナイト were really easygoing and kinda boring, so the huge contrast here, intentional or unintentional, has got me interested in them again. I'm glad they went all-in this time, keep it up! *Also, LiN at 1:32 gave me a chuckle. -

1 pointHi all. I was looking for "Black file" Xibalba album and I came here. I am mourning Morrigan too, but Aryu san just opened his first Twitter account a couple of days ago, he is performing with Nihit in Russia and said there is a chance band to be resurrected. It's pretty brave of him to play out of Japan, artists with years of experience like Hyde hardly play somewhere else than Asia and USA for years, and Russia is a big deal. What I noticed was that he is keep posting old stuff, he surely miss the good old days. I have no idea what happened to make them split, but Aryu still have picture of him and Setsuna on his laptop, and at 28th he uploaded photo of their last concert. Which makes me think... Where is Kuloe? Not a sign from him. Pitty willingly left, but Kuloe was in the band till the end. He was the one who always made them laugh and stuff, they were friends since childhood... At least I want to be sure all of them are healthy and doing fine. I can't call Morrigan the most popular band of Japan, but for me their music have personal meaning. Even now I am doing artwork, street art, uploading their old stuff, created fan page and etc... I really hope "we will see them again one day", as the nameless song from XISS says. They are too young and tallented to quit now.

1 point@KomorebiBasically I think talking things through is always worth it with people that are dear to oneself. But then you actually even tried with telling her how you feel while even going through a real tough time (which makes it even harder going through this crap). I've been at a similar point this year, several times actually even though all were long-term stuff (like me being hurt for months or years). I decided on parting. I leave behind what's not doing me good. I've been fighting so much and it never paid off. Who doesn't show me I'm important to them doesn't belong in my life anymore. But I had to learn this the hard way and over many many years. I wish to you it'll be an easier way for you, it won't ever be easy though.
-
1 pointWhat? Misery's solos are all about that VK vibes! Seriously, if I think of a guitarist who actually has a place in the scene it's him!

1 pointI stay as far away from the culture and music of Kpop as I can (difficult considering my circle of friends right now are all Korean and listen to it). It's just never appealed to me and the perception that I get is that it's done more harm to the Korean music industry than good. It hasn't allowed there to be space for different genres of music. Like, where are the hard rock bands and experimental electronic artists? I think the burgeoning K-indie scene has created a more open space for actual artists to write and produce their own music and it's great to see some individual creativity. But even so, there's a certain sound you can peg to the scene and it's ended up creating, from my perspective anyway, an alternatively stylized sub-sect of cookie-cutter production in rap, rnb/hip hop, downtempo pop. I'm not saying the music itself is bad, just that I would like to see more support for lesser-loved genres of music like hardcore, metal, and experimental music. You just don't see bands like Dir en grey and Deviloof, Mono and Boris or Midori and Otoboke Beaver from Korea.

Macabre Gauze Missa Kisou Vulgar Uroborus Marrow of a Bone Withering to Death Arche TIW DSS good production/mastering really won't make that much of a difference for their new stuff. They need a better guitar tone! I revisited Vulgar (which I used to kinda poopoo because it was their take on nu-metal, but time heals all wounds etc) and the guitar absolutely rips compared to this flat, uber-scooped protoolsy tone they have now. -
