That analogy still implies that the original somehow disappears, which in this case it literally doesn't. The ONLY downside I can think of when it comes to these remakes is that it's most likely to be the version they'll be performing live from now on (although recent tours have shown they sometimes also play the older versions). Nobody's forcing you to listen to the new recordings' studio versions even once - you could just skip them and never check them out. It's not like Dynamite Tommy will barge into your living room and hold you at gunpoint 'til you do listen to them lol

The best joke would be if this is actually the gag look and the next one has him back on the tricycle with the pacifier in his mouth.

    Dir en grey

So who all listens to Dir en grey? I'm pretty sure everyone has or does. When I was getting into j-rock, I first started off on Dir en grey as well, "-saku-" was the song that caught my attention, back when I thought I was hardcore. I like Dir en grey, but they're definately not my favorite. They did do an amazing live though. What does everyone else think of Dir en grey?

    Local Visual Kei Events?

I wonder if anyone on here has ever thought about creating an irl event for monochrome heaven for people to go? Something like a gathering to meet local people who also like Visual Kei. If it's not against forum rules to do something like this and the idea is interesting to you I'll be really happy to talk about it.

    Horror Movies

Day 11: AM1200 - 40 minute long short film by a man called David Prior, starring people like Eric Lange (Narcos), John Billingsley (Star Trek: Enterprise) and Ray Wise (Twin Peaks). If I didn't know any better I'd say this was a H.P. Lovecraft adaption, but in this is actually an original script. But I can say that's director-writer David Prior knows his Lovecraft and how Lovecraft build his tales. This is dark, cold and eerie as fuck, well-acted and superbly shot to create some immense atmosphere. A must-see for any fan of Lovecraftian horror. My only real complaint is some dodgy CGI, but it's just minimal. 8/10

    An Cafe concerts

I think we're about the same age, so I'd feel less stupid doing it But honestly, if they ever come here again, the inviation stands (though, I cannot promise that they'll play anywhere near where I'm from, but we could still go together and be ancafe grandmas!) On their last tour, Yuuki tried to teach us a para para, but the audience failed so spectacularly that he gave up after some time ;D so maybe next time we'll do better!

yeah, it certainly is a beautiful song. i think the sparklers serve as a metaphor for a person's life span; short and fleeting. and seeing the fireworks every year reminds him of human's mortality, including his friend.

I still think Angelo has their spark (at least to me) because I've literally found their most recent releases pretty enjoyable. HETERODOX seems like it's going to slay my soul. Anfiel's latest release saved me from their 2nd album which kinda killed it for me for awhile, but I still think they have their spark, that album just wasn't my cup of tea. Develop One's Faculties is still bangin' over 3 years later. GRIMOIRE also keeps getting better and better tbh. I don't think Kra will ever lose their spark, but it just sucks that they rarely release at anything. Purple Stone and SHIVA can't make a bad song, so I think they both still have their sparks. vistlip is still going strong too! Bands I'm keeping an eye on: アクメ (ACME) 甘い暴力 (amai bouryoku) DEVIZE dexcore GAMEOVER Initial'L LAVANS LOVE LOCK ルクス (Lux) masaya RAZOR REVIVE Sioux -真天地開闢集団-ジグザグ (zigzag)

    Travelling

I was quite suprised when I realized that there isn't any general conversation about travelling at all, as I know lots of users on this site travel a lot. Because this site concentrates on Japan, I am pretty sure most of us want to visit the place. So let's start with that; have you visited Japan, or will you? Have you even been abroad and if you have, where have you been? Which country was your favourite? Which country you would recommend to other people; why? Travelling budgets? City trip vs. beach trip? Any backpackers? Also, I am quite interested about japan visitors travel budgets. How much did you use for flights, food per day, living and so on?

Interesting question. I've always wanted to be able to read and write Japanese but never really wanted to be Japanese. I am happy with my own ethnicity, even if I'm just a little, plain British girl hah. I've always wished to live in Japan though, or anywhere in Asian and not where I've always lived here. To be able to easily find and purchase their music, clothes and DVDs, go to concerts and events and look around the area makes me really jelly of everyone who lives there. But not exactly to be born Japanese, although, some TV series and movies have made me want to grow up there aha. : 3

How do you trade for rarez?

Are there sites out there where you can trade with japanese people for rarez? I'm really confused and have been for about 7 years on how certain people get rare releases, and the voodoo vault guy had some rare releases but mostly just old jazz or blues japanese stuff.(Which btw anyone can get by going to any various japanese music site so not that rare just old like 60's old.) So anyway how do people get these rarez and more importantly why are only a few people able to? Friends, connections, moving to japan? Is that the only option to get rarez and why is it from time to time no information can even be found about bands (ex. Sugahara kouta since1889) like his band before usagi appearently that band had at least one release but only one person has it. Now for my last question; if you have these releases and no one else can get them and you can buy them yourself because you don't know where to get them then why not just share, I always do even though I've only got my hands on a handful of rarez.
