This single, unless the previews and title track are severely misleading, should cement their position as the most interesting new band in VK. I'm surprised by just how much I'm enjoying it. Visually excellent PV as well.

    #113: NINTH by The GazettE

Ima just copy and paste from my twitter: NINTH is the GazettE’s second best post DIM album. It sounds like a compilation of their best b-sides that didn’t make the cut for their precious string of albums. What’s even more awesome is that besides like one song, the album isn’t riddled with the usual cut and paste filler tracks. Even my least fav songs are worth listening to and flow pretty well with the other tracks. With that said, it sounds like either Ruki’s song writing improved and or he let the other members contribute more in the writing process. The songs sound more varied, even though they still have the GazettE sound to em. DOGMA is still the GOAT post DIM album cuz of its cohesiveness and the dark/metalcore feel it has going for it but NINTH is cool cuz it has that balance of Light and dark tracks. This album is def getting endless replays. I’m so happy with how it turned out. 9.5/10

Though I am not the least experience when it comes to Everlasting-k, Khaos Number has a Youtube channel where many trailers of aki's works are uploaded. I recommend the recent releases over the earlier ones. I don't know if it is just me or if the trailers really are boring compared to the whole songs. There is indeed one whole song there but it is a live recording. If you find anything interesting enough, you can buy it on Zoisite's shop, which was the only place I could find.

I live one bedroom flat with no curtains or nothing and when the morning sun gets in it's excruciating. Also if I want to keep the window open at night the mosquitos get in even though it's the shit fucking center of Helsinki. There's only one more week left...

A ton of Dir en grey imagery in that PV, and even in the music you can hear the influence and still they're 100% doing their own thing. The samples sound great. Lime is brilliant, especially when he varies it up and does less of that shouty thing he does ( u know which )

    Hello Folks I'm Kiwamu's Bitch

The Black Swan unfortunately is already disbanding their frontman Jin is most famous for a band called NEGA from yester-decade if it interests you. Hey but keep an eye on the news section here, there's new bands sprouting basically every few weeks lol! Dir en Grey do a lot of acoustic and "unplugged" versions of their songs and then releases them on the 2-disc special editions or bonus track slots at the end of their albums There's a good number of them now!

how do you decide which bands to follow?

Generally speaking, the vocalist has to have a certain special "something" that attracts me. I can't explain what it is. I just like it or I don't like it. They could be technically bad singers but if they have that "something" I will listen to them. .. After selecting based on vocalist, I would find an album and listen a couple of times to see if I like the songs. As for how I hear of bands in the first place... well, these days I don't have time to be following VK news and checking out every single band. But I still run a lyrics site, and have found some awesome bands from what people have requested.

Just discovered this band recently and it's been so satisfying, acoustic screamo emo perfection (singing starts at 2:11) They have an EP called "The Distance Between" that has better recording quality and is awesome, but these two demo songs are my favorite by far.

how do you decide which bands to follow?

    1) they have to be goth or at least sound good 2) the singer has to be hawt/on the verge of anorexia

I'm also very happy to be able to talk about them.. honestly I don't know anybody else who likes this band the way I do, so i understand the feeling lol the previews for this album sound awesome, my mailing service says the album will arrive this week, so I will definitely publish my opinion on it ^^ I can't wait to hear new music with Aki's voice which I always liked so much. A few days ago I got nostalgic, and I watched the "Heaven to perfection" DVD, that is such a great concert, I love the set list. Unfortunately I'm not in Japan, but I'm planning to go by the end of the year for some other concerts I'm interested in, so I will be checking Aki's schedule in case he has something planned around those dates. Thanks for sharing the Kouichi account, I don't think someone would fake him.. since he is not that famous now, so maybe it is legitimate. About DADA, the only DADA I know of is the vocalist from the band Velvet Eden, I haven't seen them much active recently, so maybe Koichi is working something with this person? interesting.. and thanks a lot for sharing the drawing! it looks amazing you have very good drawing skills, maybe you should draw Aki too, or maybe you have done it already? if so, please share too

I just looked at some videos on dystonia patients....this is fucking awful. He says he only has it on his upper right arm, but I'm scared that it may progress all over. I wish the very best for Yusuke. As for those who are saying the band needed this hiatus because "their music sucks anyway"...shame on you. This announcement was very sudden, and losing someone like Yusuke over something as devastating as this is a huge blow to the band, and this man may have to deal with this for the rest of his life. Shame on you.

    #113: NINTH by The GazettE

My review of Ninth: So after listening to Ninth for more than 30 times, and listening to some of my favorite songs from Ninth on repeat since the release date. I can say that Ninth is a really great album. At first I found the production kinda muddy(maybe because I've listened to Dogma so much and was kinda used to that type of production), now I don't find it muddy but I would have loved If Josh Wilbur would have mixed the entire album not just the MV version of Falling coz I loved the hell out of that mix. Anyways here's a short review for every song: 1. 99.999 A really nostalgic intro, I like how it mixes all intros of their albums. 2. Falling Loved the song since I first heard it in their official website. I love every bit of it, The riffs, Ruki's voice, the guitar solo, the rythm of the song and the synth is really fitting. Definitely the best song on the album. Although I prefer the MV mix over the Album mix, I'm starting to enjoy the latter as well. 3. Ninth Odd Smells Another favorite on the album. This song is meant to be played live. I listen to it when I wanna get pumped up before studying. I feel like every member shines on this one. Love the heavy parts and the big choruses. 4. Gush This one is such a headbanger. It's a fun track and I find it really enjoyable. 5. The Mortal This one is more experimental compared to the rest of the album and I think its a lot of people's favorite on the album. It's got a really dark atmosphere surrounding it . I love the basswork, drumming, the riffs, and the electronic elements. But the highlight for me on this song is that big chorus, Ruki does an amazing job in this one 6. Utsusemi (虚蜩) One of the more emotional tracks in the album. You could tell it was composed by Aoi. It's another standout on the album and I feel like it's a song that deserves a music video. Nothing much to say I just love it from start to finish. 7. Sono koe wa moroku (その声は脆く) Although I didn't enjoy it as much when I heard the Radio uploads on YouTube, it's grown on me a lot. The highlight of the song is the guitar solo. 8. Babylon's Taboo An epic song. Love the industrial elements and It immediately reminded me of Devouring one another. One of my favorite songs on the Album. 9. Uragiru bero (裏切る舌 ) It sounds like a better version of Vermin. It's got amazing groovy riffs and Kai is a monster in this one. Such an amazing track. 10. Two of a Kind This track sounds like Depravity and it kinda feels like a lynch. song in some parts. Love the changes between heavy and clean sections. The highlight of this song is the ending part, It's so incredible. 11. Abhor god My least favorite song on the album. I was hoping for a fully metalcore song coz It begins with an awesome metalcore riff but unfortunately it develops into something else. I think this song has the weakest chorus on the whole album. 12. Unfinished An awesome way to end the album. This song reminded me of Toxic mixed with a little bit of Nil and Stacked Rubbish. It's got an awesome melody and Uruha's guitar solo is so beautiful. Love how it just fades away at the end. Ninth is definitely one of their most consistent album from their whole discography as there's no fillers on the album. However it lacks standout tracks like Deux, Dogma and Ominous. In the end, I think I still prefer Dogma a bit more, but Ninth has definitely become one of my favorite albums from them.

Dir en grey has a ballad called "Ai Murasaki Iro" which has never been properly released and hasn't been played live in years. As far as I know, "Ai murasaki iro" was only played on the following live shows: Shibuya Public Hall on 1998.05.05 Nakano Sun Plaza on 1998.08.04 Kumagaya VOGUE on 1998.10.09 Nippon Budokan Hall on 1998.11.02 Here's some sources from the OHP showing this song does exist: http://direngrey.co.jp/special/arche2016/gallery_007.html There is also something called "NS1" not sure what that is. After digging around for a bit I found another Dir en grey song I've never heard of called "Setsuna", which is not the same thing as La:Sadie's "Setsudan". It could also be an early version of "tsumi to batsu" that's been floating around the net for years. 1997.05.31 at 難波ROCKETS 1997.06.27 at 宗右衛門町 COWBOY WORLD 1997.08.07 at 新宿 LOFT 1997.08.08 at 新宿 LOFT 1997.09.15 at 目黒鹿鳴館 1997.10.28 at 渋谷 ON AIR WEST 1998.02.21 at 博多DRUM Be-1

Do you 'hear' furitsuke in songs?

Haha, I would not have thought about it until this thread... but having been to a few VK shows I now will absolutely think to myself "oh this has got to be the bit they jump back and forth across the venue during" or "I bet this three minute song takes 15 during a concert". There are names for the different moves??
