Gundam SEED Destiny First 13 eps were good, then they completely dropped the ball by having so many recap eps, stock footage, flashbacks, and couldn't figure out who was the main character in the show.

Bootlegs too did have obi tho (or at least some of them). I have one chinese bootleg Lareine DVD bought (knowingly) in my comic shop in like 2001/2 and it has an obi. The difference it's that is written in chinese and it's different from the original.

I keep them for CDs but throw them out for books and the occasional time they come with a DVD or whatever. When most imported VK was from bootleggers, having a pic of the obi with the release was one way you could prove it’s authenticity to potential buyers. Now I just think keeping them is mostly out of habit lol

@psychonnect_rozen I'm surprised you liked Black Butler at all. The first season was animated so fucking badly, not only that, why did they make Grell so annoying? That blonde girl was also a pain the ass. I had to drop it by episode 12, it was just garbage. And yeah I will be that prick that says the manGa iS beTTeR because at least the moronic trio (maids, butler and gardener) got very little time in the panels and the art is incredible.

the internet needs to stop with the romanticizing of clinginess and possessiveness in relationships. it leads to so many abusive relationships yet people think it's normal so they stay, but these ideas that "my partner is my happiness, my world, my other half, etc" are so incredibly dehumanizing and WRONG and often end up in codependency. why aren't we teaching people to learn independence and at least some sense of self-worth and their own source of happiness before deciding to get into a relationship? why are we taught that we'll get those from our partners, rather than being two whole people coming to share their lives?

I think on CDs, they're just okay. They can be hit or miss for me depending on the "type" of obi it is. And by that I mean, I've seen a few common types used. 1. Solid strip of color with some text 2. Have just the album name and band logo on the front. 3. Be an extension of the booklet artwork. It's nice when they're more fleshed out and have more info about release, add to the aesthetic of the overall package, or include easter eggs or photos like @Jigsaw9mentioned. But, either a) extra content is rarely included, or b) they're more often than not, boring. Here's an example of what I'm talking about (Please excuse the old and terrible photo): 2 out of the 4 CDs here that have OBIs are just a plain black strip with minimal text, and 1 is just an extension of artwork. The one on the bottom right I think is actually interesting to look at and it also has more information about the CD beyond just the band name and title. @Kaya-Rose-Addict & @Bear bring up a great point about obis on vinyl, which I also love. The medium allows for bigger OBIs, so I've seen some pretty cool stuff being done. These are a few of my favorite OBIs on vinyl releases (the first two are obis that slide onto the sleeve and stay on)

Both 'band x vs band y' and 'band x imploding on itself' are acceptable. Not just limited to VK, any and all examples from the Japanese music industry are welcome to be discussed. I'll start off with one of the more well-known cases of a VK musician fucking over his own bandmates, which is how the drummer Dai from Himitsu Kessha Codomo A screwed over his band by pulling all sorts of shady shit (including theft and leaking members' personal info if I'm remembering correctly).

The member with whom they had repeated talks was their bassist 小川 万次郎(Ogawa Kotaro). While being a member of マイナス人生オーケストラ (Minus Jinsei Orchestra), he was also working as a part-timer. There was something wrong with his contract and he had to pay a lawyer to resolve the issue. Originally, they expected the issue to be solved swiftly but it was delayed at first for 1 month and then for 2 months. He made up some pretexts (being further hospitalised...) for not being able to play with the band but then as he was not able to make it to the last live, he asked the lawyer to reveal the truth to his bandmates and he is very sorry to have lied for so long.

You seriously have some nerve waiting until the last week of my fucking contract, at shit pay, to offer no raise and a 6 month extension, doing some of the most random shit not having to do with my profession. I don't think this dude knows the meaning of a 45-day notice, so why the fuck do I need to give them an answer right then and there? Btw this is the 3rd fucking time they pull this shit. The look on his face when I replied "I'll let you know next week": priceless.

On their way home after a live in Fukuoka, near Yamaguchi Prefecture, they were driving on a highway and while taking a corner, something was on the road and the vehicle stepped on it which caused the vehicle to turn over. The fact that it had rained also played an important role. Haklo's bassist ビビ(Vivi) was injured. His right foot, arm and abdomen had laceration marks and were bleeding. He will be able to leave the hospital on 2019.07.16. Tensai's guitarist and drummer 那(Naoya) and ジュニア(Junia) were taken to the hospital because of severe bruises on their bodies. Both of them should be discharged today. Obviously, they need time to recover from their injuries. Tensai's live on 2019.07.16 will proceed. Haklo will play their live on 2019.07.17 but with 4 members.
