A ProTip is a piece of advice, from a pro, to help someone become a pro themselves (I'm no pro btw, I'm just using the word) I'd like to dedicate this thread to those of us, who have seen our fair share of dates, or relationships, and may have some wisdom to share for those who are new to dating/relationships, or would like to read our tips in order to help them improve/gain some insight from others experiences. I created the thread, so I guess I'll add the first one. Pro Tip: Don't EVER, under any circumstance, make assumptions about the person you are dating/seeing. It's up to you to ask questions (point of a date) and shed some light on things (you want to get to know them, right?), so you don't go assuming and acting on what may have been, taken out of context. Some examples of phrases I've heard/said myself before on dates, confirming that assumptions can be/were made: "Oh. You're one of those...." "Well, that explains things"/"Ah, makes sense now"/"Hmm. Well, no wonder."/"OK then." "You're not like the others..." "You're all the same" "You must/must not get that a lot" IF, by chance, you have those thoughts, DON'T SAY IT TO THEM. They are your thoughts, not facts. What can happen is, you will be DROPPED/LET GO, because your assumptions caused them to make assumptions. The irony. No one wants to be grouped into something that they may not even be a part of. This is why asking questions and getting answers are the best alternative.

That con actually gets lots of bands, and Canada has LOTS of fans. They are just a bit scattered because the country is so big. It's nice that they get to play there, I hope lots of people go.

I'm sure your tags are just being sarcastic, but Canada (although by "Canada", I basically just mean Toronto) actually gets a surprising number of J-rock bands. That being said, I go to AN every year, and this is the first time since umbrella that a band I actually like is playing, so I'm super excited. It was fun when Fukusuke came as ADAPTER, so I have faith that it's going to be even better with the full band.

Of course Hi-Res sounds better than a 256kbps mp3. A 320kbps mp3 will sound better too, and a 44.1/16 file will too as @YuyoDrifthas mentioned. The real question should be does a Hi-res 24/96 file sound better than a cd quality 16/44.1 lossless rip. You're putting Hi-Res against a straw man to make yourself feel better about it, or you just don't actually realize how silly this is. The fact that you made this thread after I pointed out how foolish you were in the Gazette thread (1 2 3) as some sort of attempt to prove yourself right (?) just further shows how little of your obsession with this is confounded in actual understanding. The RAW analogy doesn't make any sense as the systems can't really be compared. On playback, what you're hearing in this release is slammed through a limiter at 0db the whole time anyway. The argument for 24 bit playback could only be made if you were listening to incredible dynamic music, something that had passages at like -50db, which is something you don't find in any music period these days. Also, low-pass filtering has 0 to do with why people use 24 bit.

Somehow, i just managed to pass the job interview earlier in school when my seniors were interviewing our section. at some point, i was really nervous..... because i thought the interview was really gonna a hard question to ask, and i don't really know why would they give us written exams earlier even though the exam is already an interview, and my instructor said was "if any of you gets 50% for your finals which is an interview and a written exam, one of us would pass." and i'm just glad that my teacher said that i was the highest score in the interview because i was way too good speaking in english and also i was trying my best to answer all the questions that my seniors would ask me. I'm glad that i'm the highest even though, i wasn't supposed to.

I listen to a ton of instrumental music, not just metal. But a good portion of it is instrumental metal. As guitarist I'm usually attracted to a lot of technical and guitar shred type material. Really recommended Angle Vivaldi for technical, yet very emotional and melodic material. Another of my favorites is Polyphia, They're recent material has toned down the metal for a more rock vibe but they're still incredibly amazing. Another great release was the recent solo album by Jason Richardson. The guy is an absolute monster on guitar. Gotta love early intervals for their djenty prog metal. And of course anything by Keith marrow, or Jeff Loomis Be back for round 2.

Protip: make them a homemade meal of Doritos and soda for dinner.

Really nice Visutox, I really really dig Buckethead too! I've been listening to his pike series a lot, tho I only like the heavy riffing ones haha. His mellow stuff is also nice, but what I really like is when he just shreds and noodle it haha.

DIVEIN - ネサリア Schwartz:Mist – Suicide Lovers so damn happy to own a real copy of Schwartz:Mist's CD - although i am probably the only person on earth who hasn't listened to the full song yet bcuz i refused since i waited for my own copy to arrive... and since time during the week is rare i'll listen to it/ and watch the pv probably on saturday - can't wait! XD

The answer is a little complicated. Does this Hi-Res copy sound better than say, a 320kbps copy? Yes, by a mile. Does it sound better than a FLAC copy? That's to be debated. People would be correct to conclude that the human ear is not capable of distinguishing anything higher than 20KHz, and so it would be a waste. What they don't know is that that is 1/2 the truth. In reality, we actually can hear the difference. The only problem is, the volume would have to be turned up so high, that it would cause hearing impairment at those frequencies. So not the most pleasant listening experience. Plus, most listeners aren't even aware as to what to look for in differences between the two. Finally, you'd have to be in a dead silent room (the average environment is about 30db of noise) in order to even get the chance to do any of this. Another issue is that NO DAC/Amp, or device on the market in 2017 is even remotely capable of, or ever will, be able to reproduce anything higher than 20Bits. Trust me, I've looked (and even done a research paper on this lol). Modern Tech is just not at that point yet to reproduce frequencies that high. What this means is that no HD/Hi-Res copy will be capable of being 24bit due to tech being shit still. So we are stuck with 20bit max. Why is it called 24bit then? Well techies will tell you that we count bits by 8. So: 8bit (Think Video Game Music), 16bit (FLAC Quality), and 24bit (HD, Hi-Res, SACD) 24bit Hi-Res is not intended to be used by the average consumer, but it is made available to us because well, why not? It is intended for Audio Engineers, who use low-pass filtering for master recording and/or editing (kinda like a graphic designer/photo editor using RAW formatted images). So this quality of music is really only able to be used in software, otherwise the raw frequencies of sound can kill your audio devices. Plus, the recording companies are greedy SOBs that would never share master records with the average consumer. Those golden days are over. Our entertainment systems have been made possible to listen to at least 60db of sound affordably (on purpose, some might say), because any more would require more power (current) and amplification, to the point that we'd all be broke as shit if we wanted to hear this to it's real sound. This can go way deeper in explanation, but I will stop here. TL;DR Take advantage of @Aeolus' kind gesture, and add this copy to your Music Collection. You'll NEVER be able to play this in 24bit, because not even master recording equipment can. So don't BS anyone about your 5K sound equipment lol. Record companies have purposely made audio sound like shit nowadays for their own profit. Unless you listen to this in a sound booth at ear exploding volumes, then it'll probably sound the same as FLAC. So enjoy this Hi-Res album, using a simple DAC/Amp and a really nice set of Noise-Cancelling Headphones for now. Your crappy HP laptop headphone port isn't gonna cut it folks.

Hi there everyone. Can you remember that creepy track -that usually is included in their CD releases- a vk band use when they're about to start the raibu or to perform their heavy/disturbed emotional stuff? These tracks're also played at the middle of the (more) dramatic performance or put at the end. I have a really bad memory so I can only remember SEs from Grieva or Nega (they did have a lot w)... Do you have any favourite tune of this kind? If so, Please share it♥ I would post the samples of this kind of tracks but I can't do it atm (will do it later)... but I'm pretty sure u know what I'm talking about. Very often called SE (Sound Effects?) but I would also (mistakenly) call it OST? This track may not necessarily have the "SE" on its title too. I was also curious about the guy that creates this stuff, who would create it?.

The only instru-metal (love that word haha) I've been listening to lately is Buckethead and Vipassi. The fact if whether Buckethead can be qualified as metal or not is arguable but thing is the man is incredibly gifted. I love when the music gets progressive or simply when it adds that avant-gardiste touch. Really amazing stuff. And for the curious ones, Vipassi is the side band of three Ne Obliviscaris members and they play what sounds like (instrumental) technical death metal to my ears. The bass line sounds exactly like Obscura but that ain't a bad thing at all. This shit is enjoyable as fuck. I also enjoy listening to some Angel Vivaldi sometimes when I'm on the mood. And obviously AAL, which are absolutely great. Not a huge fan of instrumental metal though, as I love to have some sick gutturals on my metal but hey, sometimes it's exactly what you need. So this thread is a good thing for me to discover some stuff.
