    Goodbye for now

Didn't you just make a new topic, like, just a few minutes ago? Nevermind that, it's sad to see you go this quickly. Thank you for reviving discussion on MH with your threads, especially since you're a newbie who has lots of questions and there's nothing wrong with that. There hasn't been a lot of discussion on certain subjects before you came and posted about them, so I commend you for that; it really helps other newbies navigate this weird world of visual kei through a newbie's standpoint, followed along by replies of longtime fans with years of experience (which largely makes up the majority of this forum) However, you must also realize that this is an open forum, where anybody is free to dish out their opinion, whether it be good or bad. You don't have to agree with it, but you have to deal with it; that is reality. I know you're young and you stand by your opinions, but I used to be like you, blowing up when someone said something negative about someone or something I care about, and it escalated to the point where I suffered consequences and basically had to grow up and redeem myself. That's basically how it is in the real world; sometimes you can't convince people that you're always right, and they stand by their own ideals no matter what. What's most important however is at the end of the day, their way of thinking shouldn't matter to you. You live your life by your own principles and your own beliefs, and you alone are in charge of that, not anyone else. All I'm saying is, don't let these people get in your head, and you'll be ok. Hope to see you again soon!

To cap off their 25th anniversary celebrations, cali≠gari is releasing a new EP titled "この雨に撃たれて" (Kono ame ni utarete) on 2019/08/28. It will have the theme of "rain trilogy", i.e. the songs will be connected to rain. Except for the title track, the rest will be previously released songs but in newly recorded versions. Interesting tidbit, the EP will be released under Victor Entertainment. The release will come in two types: 2CD "Yuudachi-ban" edition and CD+DVD "Akisame-ban" edition. 夕立盤 (Yuudachi-ban) tracklist: 【Disc-1】cali≠gari "Rain Trilogy" new recordings M1. (I have no idea what this last part is, something about teaching vocals? Maybe karaoke versions of the songs?) 【Disc-2】10-Rebuild- (remixed and re-recorded version of the "10" album that was released 10 years ago) M1. 電気睡蓮 秋雨盤 (Akisame-ban) tracklist: 【Disc-1】cali≠gari "Rain Trilogy" new recordings M1. (Kono ame ni utarete) (in-store BGM short ver.) Goodbye for now

How ironic. Excuse me if I sound harsh, because you seem young and like the kind of people who are used to their cozy social media "safe spaces" and haven't really experienced classic forum culture. But people having opinions you don't agree with is normal and I personally like that MH is one of the last places where people can share their thoughts, as controversial as they may be, without getting flamed, doxxed or "cancelled". It's a shame that you read this as "toxicity". Also like suji said: the world isn't going to end just because someone says something on the web. And MH, while petty at times, is relatively well behaved corner of the net. Anyway, I probably don't add much here, since nowadays I am just a mere silent reader and rarely participate anymore. But I came back and saw that the forum discussions were revived and just wanted to say thanks, because it has been some time since this forum had interesting, engaging topics to offer. It would be silly if you leave the place just because you feel offended, but do what you wanna do.

Not only between J and Sugizo during 2000 summer all the members hated each others, in autumn the situation became critical between them, they not speak to each others after the concerts, each depart from their sides etc... J hated Inoran for few times coz during this time Inoran said ""I'm going back to Tokyo because I'm not well" while in reality he leaving for record his album. Until theirs comeback in 2007 they not speak to each others except Inoran and Ryuichi.

    Feminism and Video Games

1.The Era of women's suffrage, the flappers, all that jazz was good feminism. However, this modern-day crusade on a strawman is quite frankly bullshit. 2. People generalize everything, so of course they do. 3. Male feminists are, and excuse my French..pussy starved (can't believe I'm saying this, but I find no other words to describe it) beta males and it's being uncovered now that a big swath of them are pedophiles. 4.Feminazis make real feminists look bad, but the feminists are eating themselves as they battle with the identitarians over identity politics. 1.It's okay to be anything excluding a murderer and a baby rapist, you do you, but don't expect everyone to follow you to the gates of oblivion. 2.There are plenty of legit girl gamers and they're respected for the most part unless someone is just a dick or a thirsty 12 year old. There are also gaming thots who just want attention and money by using their bodies to coax horny pre/teens too young for Skinemax. That being said the gaming landscape until recently due to Xbox throwing the hammer down on free speech, has been a place of public discourse, there are the LGBT and racists and everything else, but that's fine because gamers come from all walks of life. 3.Female characters should be whatever the creators want them to be, they're art, not real and they could be a little girl or a full grown woman with DDDs, horns, muscles and a tail.

    Visual kei among friends

VK was remotely popular where I live at the time I was in High school, so there were some "cool kids" that liked it and i know there were some meet ups in the local scene. But being shy and introverted I never went there. And at Anime+Manga Cons I only ever stared at the VK cosplayers, never interacted with them. At my school there was one class above me that had three girls who self identified as "Visus". That was when VK and Anime reached peak hype in the German speaking lands, so I guess between 2006 and 2008/9-ish. Youth magazines really tried hard to sell it as a subcultural movement thing, so you had people walking around saying that they are "Visus" and these three girls were fully into it, dressing in mid 00s grb and with way too much eyeliner every single day, bags donned with hundreds of band buttons and weaboo shit and whatnot. I kinda admired it and envied that they had the guts to look like that. Nowadays I find it kinda silly though… most of those early attempts of foreigners to dress VK looked really shit (and more like Emo or Scene). And same with them. But they tried, I guess. So people at my school knew what it was, but apart from those "Visu" kiddos no one really cared that much and nowadays I doubt there's anyone but very few people left in this country who do. Ok, some of my classmates were mallgoths (and so were I), and they kinda thought Mana looked amazing, but they still preferred to listen to Cradle of Filth and Marylin Manson, lol.

I still listen to these guys sometimes Mainly just 1 song, Regret. The main guitarist, Yuki, has been playing in many other bands such as Acid Black Cherry and Rayflower. The only other band I know that was formed just to promote an anime was Chrome Shelled. It was a song called Silent Talk. I don't know how long they lasted or if they had other songs but that's all I think can of on top of my head.

honestly, i can only speak from my own experiences from existing within a marginalized group. the only thing i really want is to be able to survive and not be mocked or made fun of for trying to be content with my survival. but, yeah, i get it. some people do take it really far and assume things that don’t seem like attacks (to me anyway) are. although, this isn’t me saying that jokes about trans folk are funny. i think it depends on the joke itself and the implication? like i have a friend who is fat, so she calls herself a trans fat sometimes and that’s p funny.

In any situation I usually lean towards more experimental (and progressive) bands, even if they're experimental to a fault. I don't know how much of hand Lime has in composing, but when he was in LEZARD all their songs sounded like variations of the same song. Since Sora took his place their sound has become much more diverse (whilst keeping their signature melodies.) I'm noticing the same thing playing out with Kizu, but it's not like consistency has ever been a bad thing. Kizu provides a solid live experience for bangya, while DIMLIM's target audience isn't as focused (a mixture of gya and metal doods.) They might fare better if they dropped the vk look, but they're too stylish to give that up T_T. I think if Deviloof can pull it off, so can DIMLIM. Kizu is probably going to last longer, but DIMLIM is too much fun. I like surprises, Kizu doesn't give me surprises.

[Band Battle] キズ (Kizu) vs. DIMLIM

You are correct in that Kizu targets females as they do a lot of instores and interact with fans, like most vk bands. I don't think DIMLIM particularly targets males, though. Rather they just don't really do instores or interact with fans that much cause they're all awkward af. Not doing instores/eigyou is a no-go for a lot of bangya. In addition, they don't play often (1-3 times a month), they manage themselves, they don't really have money or a lot of connections, Sho doesn't use SNS and the others are bad at it (another turn off for bangya as well as overseas fans), and they're not consistent with releases. The quality of their releases post-Issei have been top notch, but in the past year they've only put out a 10 song/2 SE album and a two song single with a 10 month gap between them. Also I don't think they would achieve more if they dropped VK (tbh they're barely vk as it is). There's no money in metal in Japan unless you make it big and very few bands do. I like both bands a lot, but I stan DIMLIM (no surprise there) They're kinda clueless and not very consistent about certain things, but they're doing their best with their limited resources and I really respect/appreciate that, and their improvement post-Issei is honestly incredible. I love Kizu's music and they put on great shows. I had a lot of good times seeing them in 2017, but there were so many crazy/desperate/violent people at their liquidroom oneman last year. My friends and I were being kicked by the people in front of us for 90% of the time🙄 I haven't gone since because I don't want to deal with that crap anymore. It's a real shame they have such terrible fans cause the guys really are good at what they do. As for DIMLIM's lives, they are a lot more chill.

@secret_no_03 GZUS,i'm not saying that the murderers were feminists declared, nor @Euronymous said so. we pointed that all these things are, indeed, related to each other. @Gesu i was always pro abortion.but after multiple researchers and videos about the subject i changed my opinion. abortion is murder.your body is yours, but from the moment that there's another living creature inside of your,it's no longer your decision whether the kid has to live or not.The fetus/kid is depending on you,but it's not you,you don't have the right. Even at the most horrible cases like raping, the mother must bear with it for the sake of the baby, and if she wants to,give it to the adoption when it's born.
  37. 1 point
when it comes to such horrible cases, feminists or the movement sympathizers always say stuff like: "oh,these or extreme cases" or "feminism is not like that",etc. the thing is way more complex than we can imagine, and there's also the whole left-wing political agenda in it, they dominate the mainstream media, they will do their best to deliver the news the way they think it's best.
  38. 1 point
what? your argument is just that the article doesn't mention feminism? the murder case is DIRECTLY linked to feminism. just like @Euronymous mentioned, what feminists does nowadays is just spread confusion and the demonization of male, this movement fell into a state of misandry. i had the displeasure to frequent university with some feminist girls and they openly adimited that if they had an "unplanned" child they'd just go for the abortion. There you can sense all the craziness of this movement. You said yourself that the killers did what they did only because the kid resembled the biological father. Well, isn't that the worldview of the feminists? hating on male? i'm not saying that every feminist is a murder (even though abortion is murder),but when you spread the hate, like they do,you end up creating these monsters, and consequetly victims. @Euronymous is absolutely right.

This is where you lost me. Let me explain why. We're on a college campus and we want to create a group focused around celebrating culture and ethnicity. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Indian clubs? Good. Black club? Great. Hispanic club? Awesome. White club? No no no, can't support white supremacy here. Maybe instead we want to create spaces for underserved populations. Let's make women only scholarships, black only scholarships, latinx scholarships, etc. and that's seen as being progressive. There's a scholarship for being left handed even! But let's find a scholarship out there where the only qualification is that you have to be white, or that you have to be a man, and suddenly it's regressive and sexist. Do you see what I'm getting at here? Feminism as an ideology is fundamentally flawed because it views the relationships between men, women, and those not on the traditional gender spectrum as a zero sum game where one group must lose in order for another group to gain. This is a flaw deeply ingrained in human psychology. Within this distorted view, the "oppressor" group gaining any ground must come at the expense of the "oppressed", because those resources the "oppressors" have could have been put towards "the oppressed". When men try to stand up for themselves and bring light to their own issues, we are often dismissed by men and women. Our situation is so fractured and fucked that we're not given the vocabulary to discuss it, which is what feminism has empowered women with: a voice. I call this phenomenon spreadsheet equality, because on the surface everything looks as fair as it can be, but fairness and justice are two different concepts that should not be confused. If I sound like an alt-right lunatic, that's because the alt-right is fueled mostly by angry white men who see their opportunities being snatched away from them, unfairly or not. Angry. White. Men. The very group that is blatantly told that they're not allowed to complain because they live life on easy mode, as if life on easy mode doesn't have any challenges at all. They have a point to a point, and much like "the left" (I hate that phrase) they have an agenda, and their agenda is white supremacy, but absolutely no one is taking the time to dissect the points that make sense from the lunacy that doesn't, and we just disregard their points entirely, which kick starts the vicious cycle that sends a vast majority of disillusioned men down the echo chamber that is the alt-right pipeline. Every move made and talking point espoused by anyone anywhere is to further a personal agenda to better their current position in the rat race that is capitalism. Feminists have one. White supremacists have one. Even I have one. Propaganda is a weapon stronger than the nuclear arsenals of the world combined, because it's much harder to kill a belief than a person. And as long as our society continues to believe this "inferior"/"superior" crap in any dimension, we're never going to come to the table and talk as equals. And I say this as someone who has six eggs in one basket and half a dozen eggs in the other.

    #120: llll-Ligro- - 弔 (Tomurai)

Three things in life are inevitable as a visual kei fan: death, taxes, and your favorite band ending activities. If you are a fan of llll-Ligro- , then you experienced all three at the same time when they announced their second disbandment. I wasn't super into the band at the time of both of their disbandments, although they were on my radar and not on my shit list, so I can sympathize with fans who had to deal with heart break twice. Fans of yesteryear went through a similar phase with UnsraW's vocalist Yuuki, and depending on who you talk to he still hasn't gotten back to his prime ten years later. The similarities are so striking it's hard to resist the comparison. But this review isn't about UnsraW, it's about llll-Ligro- and their unreleased second album 弔 (Tomurai). The three tracks that managed to survive stand as a reminder for what could have been, and what should have been. Before its cancellation, 弔 was announced for a 2018-05-30 release. Artwork and booklets were probably designed and pressed, but no scans other than the front exist. A track list was released but we don't know how many of the nine unreleased songs were finished. The album was delayed multiple times due to Hinata and Kazari's habit of postponing releases for the sake of quality, but Hinata's refusal to finish recording his parts due to acute chorditis implies that at least some of these songs were unfinished. As is, it will be impossible to give a full review of it, but there are several tracks we can reflect on. Those tracks are comeback single "INVICTA", live distributed single "basket case", and other promotional single "INVISIBLE INDIVIDUAL". "深閑ガラス" (Shinkan Glass) is a track played at their last live but no recording of it exists. 弔 (Tomurai) 1. Blame me (SE) 2. INVISIBLE INDIVIDUAL 3. basket case 4. Shinkan Glass (深閑ガラス) 5. Kuroneko wa Kaku Katariki (黒猫は斯く語りき) 6. Ratai Are Hateta Hyou (裸体荒れ果てた標) 7. DIRGE OF INFECTION 8. HIRAETH 9. INVICTA 10. Mist 11. DEEP SIX 12. Seija no Koushin (聖者の行進) 13. Kanransha wa Adabana to (観覧車は徒花と) 14. Isho (遺書) Despite all the material released as a part of llll-Ligro- 's first phase, "INVICTA" isn't the ball scorching metalcore banger I was expecting. The unassuming opening does a lot to disarm the listener, and on the first listen I thought this was going to be a ballad, but before long the song ratchets up the complexity and the aggression. The band dips their toes into the progressive metal waters with this one, as everything from synthesized piano keys to acoustic guitars and a generous amount of toms and cymbal crashes makes an appearance. Hinata's vocals are one of the most striking elements of the track, featuring his signature skill of deftly switching between harsh growls and pig squeals. Sometimes the transitions are so fast I'm not sure if it's all natural or studio magic, but having to perform that live is absolutely killer. It's a seven minute trip far more realized than most of their contemporaries. If every band has their magnum opus, "INVICTA" could be theirs. This must have been a product of their time as 時限式:uadjet (jigenshiki:uadjet). "INVISIBLE INDIVIDUAL" is a much more straightforward track, and would have been the first track on the album after "Blame me", which is an SE so I don't count it. There are a lot of cool ideas here. I think my ultimate favorite part is around 3 minutes, where Hinata's clean singing is laid over his screaming, creating a great dynamic tension to push the song into it's last section. The piano motif returns again, which makes me suspect that we would have gotten at least one piano ballad on the album. There's also some pretty dope bass slaps before the eagle scream halfway through where I expected a breakdown to appear, which is what cemented my opinion of this track as an above average metalcore dirge. The last track that was released was "basket case", a live distributed teaser that ended up becoming their last official release. This would have followed "INVISIBLE INDIVIDUAL" and does a good job providing contrast to the first track. This wasn't uploaded anywhere else, so I'll try to give a good description of how the track sounds. "basket case" opens up with a short, distorted riff into a chorus with clean vocals with a straightforward, 'four to the floor' drum beat. The main guitar riff of the song sounds mental and the song moves at a frantic yet restrained pace, alluding to the title. Most of the singing is clean and takes place with Hinata's higher register, but mid range barks, growls, and a pig squeal makes an appearance shortly after the second verse. There's a strong emphasis on twin guitar melody for this song. The chorus has a very stereotypical visual kei melodic progression, so much so that I feel like I can place at least the first few notes of "basket case" from another song, but I can't figure out which one it is yet. "basket case" descends into thirty seconds of noise as the track winds down to an end, and I find myself feeling saddened that the album will never be released in its entirety, and that I'll never get to hear "深閑ガラス" (Shinkan Glass). llll-Ligro- hold the crown for visual kei bands with one of the most promising yet unfulfilled musical development arcs of all time, and that's not a title I'm keen on reassigning any time soon. Based on what I've heard, 弔 would have been the album that made a fan out of me. I just know there's a copy of the unfinished masters sitting in a vault in Japan somewhere, and perhaps a second or third copy on a hard drive, but the odds that we'll ever get to see or hear any more of this album are slim to none. At this point, I'd even take a mini-album of whatever is fit enough to be released. A lot of unknowns remain around the members and the state of the band. Can Hinata ever sing again? Is the relationship between Hinata and Kazari too strained to imagine a third reunion? Do they even want to try or will they both move on to new, separate projects? I am reluctant to stoke the fires of hope for the remaining llll-Ligro- fans out there, because that's just cruel, but the scene has shown with both HIZUMI (D'espairsRay) and Yuuki (UnsraW) that there's always a chance for Hinata to return.

    Jrockers, who influence your look

I'm not sure if anyone's really influenced my hair, but I've noticed it's kinda similar to Masashi from Versailles'. My makeup sometimes changes, but not drastically. I just like studying VK makeup and finding things I like by accident... and even then, my makeup's not really that VK, anyways. Rip. Oh, well. At least I always make sure to put that obligatory pale stripe down the bridge of my nose. As for my clothes, I want to be a tanbi kei goth-loli. I have a big wish list on Lolitashow, but my bank account says "no" at the moment. Right now, I'd say I'm closer to otome kei than anything. My hair's kinda VK, but everything else just screams "otome". Not that I mind. If I play otoge, I may as well look otokei. Also, I know you can't see it in that picture, but there's a massive black bow on the back of my head, just as there always is. Just the way I like it.
