5 pointsD.I.D until the Day I Die As you all know the Judgement Day is approaching, the day when D.I.D. will truly return. We've awaited it for quite some time now, this single is only but the messenger warning us of the impending storm of godly sound that is Akane and his disciples. W.O.D. II ____________ An interesting sequel to the ever so amazing and timeless D.I.D. original W.O.D., this second version retains all the same lyrics, but a different tune. I love its many tempo changes and the metalcore. Akane's growls are on point as usual aswell as his clean vocals, Tekede's drumming continues to slay especially the bass drum, as for Tohma he's gotten even better even though I never knew he could get more godly. As his skills were far amazing before, aswell as Aizawa. His Bass playing is solid and gritty i just love it! The guitar solo is fucking hectic, I can tell it took alot of work. (It even tops atheism's amazing solo.) I cant wait to see the music video for this track. ☆☆☆☆☆ out of ☆☆☆☆☆ FATAL ERROR RACE ______________________ The moment I've long awaited for.....has finally arrived at last it's here, the beauty that is difficult to bring to words. It is honestly love to the ears, for a song to be this well composed it's almost unreal. Akane's sweet voice returns, his alluring tone and demonic growls are present aswell as the flawless guitar work, the drumming is back with vengeance along with the bass. Oh god the chorus send's chills up my spine, those violins in the background just fill the tone ever so perfectly, this song is so symphonic, so tear inducing. D.I.D. is coming back, as they've come a long way and there is no turning back for them, only the progression forward. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆out of ☆☆☆☆☆

Artist: cali≠gari Album: 12 01. 紅麗死異愛羅武勇 (Crazy I Love You) 09. バンバンバン (Ban Ban Ban) 10. フィラメント (Filament) 11. あの人はもう来ない (Ano hito wa mou konai) 12. さよならだけが人生さ (Sayonara dake ga jinsei sa) Rating: | A fine achievement from the masters of weird. When I heard the sad news that long-time drummer Makoto was out of cali≠gari, the future did not seem very bright for the band. At least, that's what I thought. cali≠gari have been kind of slacking off in terms of releases these past few years anyway – sporadic activity, lots of live-only and fanclub-only cash grabs, you name it. I, however, cannot hate them no matter what they do, as long as they deliver quality tunes I can get into. This album continues to prove that statement right, while at the same time asserting that they remain a force to be reckoned with, even as a three-piece. 12 is another typical cali≠gari full-length (as much as you can call such a quirky band 'typical'), packed with catchy melodies and occasional crazy outbursts. The band manages to find a decent balance between those two extremes. Gone are the days of totally mental freak-outs, like "Hakkyou Channel" for example, but they can still pack a punch when needed. Case in point, take the frantic trance-like pummeling punk of an opener "Warui yatsura", or the follow-up track "Noukaku Terror." These filthy little beasts contrast well with the album's brighter and airier compositions such as the gorgeous revamped version of "Tonight Toniyayaya" (proving that the creative juices are still flowing) or the sweet closing track "Sayonara dake ga jinsei sa", reminiscent of another old tune of farewell, "Good Bye." The best bits of 12, however, are the instances where the band isn't afraid to openly show their love for '80s new wave and pop nostalgia. Songs like "Sex to uso", "Gimlet ni wa hayasugiru" and the like are characterized by big fat slappin' bass goodness, twinkly synths, sharp cleaned-up guitar tones and… is that saxophone I'm hearing?? Clearly, they spared no creative expense when arranging these fine pieces of 'updated throwback' music. There’s even a nod towards a sort of proto-VK atmosphere (very much like what they did around 1998-1999) in tracks like the swift "Sassou taru mirai-ken," the post-punk tinged sax-o-rama of "Crazy I Love You", and the aforementioned "Sayonara…". Altogether, these colorful elements make this full-length both enjoyable for hardened, long-time cali≠gari fanatics and those new to the band's curious antics. Overall, 12 paints a picture of a band of 'professional eccentrics' who still know how to rock out as well as craft some interesting songs. The days of youth are gone, of course, so one mustn't expect an onslaught of all-out craziness. They more than make up for that with a big bunch of catchy moments that blends their past styles and influences into a powerful mixture that sounds anything but dated. In short, this is probably the best cali≠gari has done since their comeback. I cannot wait to see & hear what the future holds! Support the band! 12 @ iTunes (Jp) 12 @ CDJapan 12 @ Yesasia -

D.I.D. - W.O.D II/Fatal Error Race (Demo)
Elazmus and one other reacted to Jigsaw9 for a post in a topic
What a way to come back! I can't really remember the original version of W.O.D. but this installment is just truly badass with its all-out heaviness. Some great tempo changes here and there, and impressive string-work (especially those little bass noodlings). Slayed me hard. It's nice to finally listen to Fatal Error Race as well, albeit it's in demo form. Even so, it still packs a punch, in typical heavy-but-melodic D.I.D. fashion. Can't wait to hear the finished track with a proper bangin' production. A solid lil' goodie from these guys, hope they'll be able to be more active from now on. | -

jduv86 and one other reacted to Tetora for a post in a topic
I am not a big fan of what they have been doing lately. Their songs are a little shallow to me, and a lot of their music is a complete copy of BugLug. This song is HicchakaxMecchaka with little changes and a different tempo, plus other BugLug styles. They should be themselves more, I don`t see the point in being similar to a band that is currently far more skilled in musicianship, song-writing and on a much better label then them, if they don`t offer something different. I think they could be a good band if they did their own thing more and grow as that. No offense intended to fans, just my thoughts. Here is BugLug for comparison: -

1 pointI feel like it's going to be bigger than sukekyio, and Kaoru, Kyo and Shinya will also have plenty of time to focus on new Dir en grey material drafting. I wonder how much influence Toshiya actually has in the band atm, bassists are typically not considered as smth vocally powerful. I hope he collaborates with Die for this "DECAYS" thing.

1 pointI think they need another 'summer singles' era. While I appreciate the new look, etc. Im still hesitant about the outcome. If they make another boring album like BD and that album before it.. Division is it? I'm going to freak balls. They have such talent and usually appreciate their work but the last few albums have been a bore (I didn't mind Toxic, tbh).
-
1 pointNice review, boy. Tried the song though and thought it was awful. Not my cup of tea at all. I do remember appreciating some of their older albums, though.

1 pointlmao that's the entire point, it is the first visual kei album teaser ever featuring team and effort that went into production. I was quite pessimistic about dogma, and there's probably gonna be a shit ton of filler anyway, but aesthetics wise it's a perfect VK album for 2015. I can't believe how much effort sony is putting into selling a local Japanese act of this scale atm. inside of tomomi ozaki bank savings account annual stats, dove
