It's hard to believe that GEMINI (the song) and Planet Nine were done by the same people...

They are amazing and I am glad they are back <3
I am big fan of SIAM SHADE, especially HIDEKI and DAITA, and of course I heard Understand so many times because I own HIDEKI's first two albums and e.p. <3 But I couldn't find his latest two albums anywhere, on CD Japan, iTunes and other shops ;___; I mean 栄喜Ⅲ〜NO FATE〜 and 栄喜Ⅳ ;__;

Good lord, Aggretsuko speaks directly to my soul. Everytime she enters metal mode I'm ded. So many memories of shitty workplaces from the past
-
Hideki is SO underrated. Siam Shade is hors concours, DETROX is a blast and his solo career is so much fun! wish more people would listen to that dude (let's forget ACID existed, please).

Is Pisarro the worst VK band in activity today?
-
What is Zoro's best song in your opinionn, and why is it HOWL?
-

襲の自作自演屋's "雨ざらしの唄" is the most Panic Ch song I've heard in YEARS. What a throwback!
-
Surprises me how little people talk about Bull Zeichen around here. People praise some guitar and drumming here that are child work in comparison to what Jun-ji, Ikuo and Sebastian usually do. And the dudes actually seem to have shit ton of fun doing what they do, I mean, look a this PV

BUK BUK's disbandment is the definitive proof that god won't let us have anything good in this scene.

Noulla's Ne Ne made me ASHAMED of using speakers.

What the fuck is FED's A day to remember? shit is fucking HORRIBLE

i didn't make it past beyond these walls.
first non-s.e. song i was like, MAN THESE RIFFS ARE DOPE, but the kick and snare sound so sad
and then beyond these walls came on, and the whole mix sounded like twice as good and I was all bummed out.
You know they're on low budget when they couldn't afford an album master of the single tracks. its literally the same version from the single, and it feels sooo out of place sonically with the other tracks. :X beyond these walls has way more low end and the drums sound a lot better overall

Yeah I only thought the songs from the old singles were the only halfway listenable songs on there, but everything else was boring as fuck and so poorly executed it's a shame because I thought thorns, beyond these walls, and Nadir/Zenith, and The mini album Dizainerve and especially Inhale were very promising. But like 2/10. I don't even want to listen to it again, I could just listen to the singles and the mini because the new songs are utter shit.

Chanty's Amakakeru was great on the single, is brilliant on the album ver. I can jam to it the whole day
-
Chanty second album is like fuckin light years better than the first one. SO GOOD.
-
Really? I love the first one so i should try this. Have been to a couple of their concerts recently and they were pretty amazing live!

their music finally feels 'organic' and it's only been getting better since that other guy left, this new album is no exception

There's something better in this new Aiolin. Can't exactly pinpoint yet, but there's something more cohesive, maybe structurally better. Still think they lack creativity in everything else that it's not piano or violin, but it sure gives me hope for them.

DOF's 無礼王 is the most danceable they've been since psychedelic modulation. This song could seriously be a few more minutes longer, what a chorus!
-
gotta get my thoughts together and then maybe i can review

Impressions on DOF's album, anyone?

@Zeusby all means, please do!

New Mamireta sucks, it's like a one of those terrible chinese bootlegs of DEZERT. btw, help me identify where they took inspiration of for the 01:37~01:48 riff of the first song, please!

I've just listened the single again to see If I missed something the first time and yeah, it's definitely not for me. They should fire that vocalist. Dude is just BAD. He tries to emulate VK tropes and fail spectacularly. Those songs don't even demands any range. Really, you can't listen to the third song and say this dude knows what he is doing. it has an interesting intro but that's it, doesn't evolve into anything. His screamings are passable, but there are 200 VK bad vocalists that can do the same. What he's trying to do on the first verse and bridge of the second song? what's that chorus? I'm finding even the budget DEZERT comparison kinda offensive, I would be hard pressed to find one instrumental moment I could say something good of.
@TokageYeah, gotta agree with you that Saikou no Shokutaku was their last GREAT release, but even so, there's something to enjoy on what came after. In any case, my bechmark for budget DEZERT is BUK BUK. Those dudes don't deserve to be placed on the same category as mamireta...
@AimiGen7 @CELESTIAL CIELI dunno if it's because they are just starting... Have you guys heard that BUK BUK release that was shared here? That shit is GOLDEN, and the dudes are as young/beginners as mamireta. All three songs are killer, the compositions are above VK average, you can find creative drumming and guitar lines, and the vocalist is absolutely passable (yeah they are mimicking DEZERT and the vocalist is trying his hardest to sound like Chiaki, but if you want to do this kind of "homage", that's the best you can hope for).
But I'm actually curious on what you guys found so interesting in this mamireta release, maybe I've missed something, I don't know.

I actually thought the new release was ehh. I felt like it definitely had potential and I definitely enjoy it (well, minus the main track), but something was missing from there. I was hoping for more stuff like お邪魔します. But I'm not completely giving up on them yet, I'll just have to see what they have in store for the next release.
Though I will admit, Batsu isn't the most pleasing vocalist to listen to. It's not his style that turns me off, because I love that style, that crazy vocal style, it's mostly his harsh vocals, which definitely aren't pulled off correctly, and his tone of voice, that turn me off for him.
I think though if he works on his tone, and worked on his harsh vocals, I'd enjoy his vocals more.

GREMLINS album is the surprise of the year, so far. Always thought it was Kenzo's worst project, I'm eating my words with this one. Best thing I've heard from japan in a while.

Parabéns, xará de signo! mtas felicidades!

Do you guys also feel that Belle could and should be so much better than they actually are? Like, the lineup is pretty great, the guys have the aesthetics, their concept is interesting, but it always feels like they're missing something. It's like they are always playing safe, intentionally choosing mediocrity over trying something better, unexpected. There's no bad track at all on their latest album, but I couldn't remember any of them the minute after...
-
Yea i have to agree with you. The only song that i find somewhat memorable is this
Other then that its a great band. Some releases they have like a jazzy feel to them which is rarely done. For some reason i don't have another song that i can be like oh i wanna play this right now but if it comes on ill be like great. I do miss plunklock tho when haro was in that band i loved and remembered some songs here and there.

Exactly this. I tend to find their music pleasing when I'm listening but don't remember much after it's over. I had high hopes when they formed but I don't even really check for them anymore.

In another case of "I've DEFINITELY heard this before and it's driving me crazy": Please help me identify where REIGN took inspiration for the 01:15~01:18 part of Shallow [P'].

I think I may have jumped the gun this time. The mentioned section is similar in tempo and rhythm to the first and second verse of yuya's chant on Develop One's Faculties' "it is what it is", but it's way too loose to call it an inspiration. Unless the feeling comes from some other song I'm not remembering now, lol...

Corpse Mansion is a really solid album, as most things Morrigan do are. Wondering how they'll fare now without Pitty...
-
Who is/was the best pig squealer on the scene?
-
Mhmm I think it's always Yuki from Lustknot but other than that yeah like what's-his-name in DIMLIM, Akane, Mukuro, and @Mamoreminds me I'm probably gonna think of someone later I should have said!
