    A lot has to go wrong to lose read access to files on your own laptop...

    I wonder if the IT dude had tried to turn it off and on again, would've probably fixed it.

    The release date appears to have been pushed back to the 26th. But the album will be available at the German shows for around 15€.

    Yeah, you missed the difference between being interested in a band and their music and being interested in the band members and their personal lives.

    I wrote "radically invested" for a reason. Being invested in the band to the point of fetishizing its members is definitely no normal fan behaviour.

    Or would you say that wondering if Toshiya was in D+L or GOSICK first is the same kind of interest as wondering if he'd bone me after their show?

     

    And since you're not the first to mention the 6th member thing, it's something the band called their fans in the past, as far as I'm aware.

    Besides, it's long gone from my signature.

    Man, tumblr-DEG is in uproar about the non-venue "stalker" photos and taking photos at the band's concerts...

    Why do people get so radically invested in this band (or bands in general)? They're just some dudes who play music.

    Just a hunch... no releases since 2017, multiple member changes in their short existence, not a lot of touring iirc...

    I know DEG released an album this year, but even sukekiyo managed to get one (or two) releases out there.

    Then there's SERAPH, which I'd already consider to be on hiatus.

    At sukekiyo shows in November I want to sell a cd with a new song. Please acknowledge that even if it gets sold out we are not planning to release extra copies. If there’s anything left we might sell it at the galaxy shop. It was finished before going to Europe.

    Hi, some months ago, I made a list on Discogs about the various versions Japanese music gets released in, thought some here might be interested/help/correct.

    Afaik, there's no list like this on the internet, or at least I wasn't able to find one. Of course with Dir en grey releases as examples :^)

     

    • 通常盤 (Tsūjō-ban) → Regular Version. Includes main CD, sometimes with extras like stickers or so.
      • Example: Pretty much every normal release.
    • 初回盤 (Shokai-ban) → First Press Version. This can mean any of the 初回 below, but it's commonly used as an abbreviation of 初回生産限定盤.
    • 初回生産限定盤 (Shokai Seisan Gentei-ban) → First Press Limited Version. Literally "first-run limited edition production recording". Different cat.-no. than 通常盤.
      • Example: Dir en grey - Vulgar
    • 初回生産分 (Shokai Seisan-bun) → I think this refers to the extras of the 初回生産限定盤. No clue where I found it, though.
    • 初回仕様限定盤 (Shokai Shiyō Gentei-ban) → Initial limited version. Literally "first-run limited edition technical recording". Same cat.-no. as 通常盤.
      • Example: DIR EN GREY - Uroboros [Remastered & Expanded]
    • 初回特殊仕様 (Shokai Tokushu Shiyō) → Initial special specification. Another description for the aforementioned.
      • Example: Dir en grey - 鬼葬
    • 初回封入特典 (Shokai Fūnyū Tokuten) → Initial version with an additional extra, such as a photo card, a sticker or an entrance ticket (応募券) / an entrance postcard (応募ハガキ) for a lottery. Often shortened to 初回特典.
      • Example: Dir en grey - 脈
    • 完全生産限定盤 (Kanzen Seisan Gentei-ban) → Special limited version. Literally "perfect production limited edition". Often the version with most extras.
      • Example: DIR EN GREY - Dum Spiro Spero (LP Version)
    • 完全受注生産限定盤 (Kanzen Juchū Seisan Gentei-ban) → Like the previous, but the number of copies that are made depends on the number of pre-orders.
      • Example: DIR EN GREY - 輪郭
    • 特殊パッケージ仕様 (Tokushu Package Shiyō) → Means that the jacket is special in some way.
      • Example: DIR EN GREY - Arche
    • スーパージュエルケース仕様 (Super Jewel Case Shiyō) → Means that it comes in a super jewel box.
      • Example: DIR EN GREY - Average Psycho 2
    • 特殊スチールケース仕様 (Tokushu Steel Case Shiyō) → Means that it comes in a special steel case.
      • Example: Dir en grey - Tour05 It Withers And Withers -Bootlegged-
    • 紙ジャケット仕様 (Kami Jacket Shiyō) → Means that it comes in a paper jacket (gatefold).
      • Example: DIR EN GREY - Dozing Green
    • 封入ステッカー (Fūnyū Sticker) → Means that a sticker is included.

    I actually left the lyrics wikia because their two or three sysops have some serious power issues. You can see most of it on my talk page there.

    So yeah, that's why the DEG wiki came into existence. There, I can be my own sysop, edit how and what I want and don't have to answer to anyone.

    Plus, I personally went through all booklets and almost all band scores to correct the lyrics. Some still have mistakes because I don't own the band scores (or there are none), but the bulk of lyrics are correct. Plus I can add whatever other information I want.

    It’s like it’s packed with energy, I feel excited about playing it live. Creating phrases was also done in a different way than before, so the final effect is like this.

    It’s like a shape of 5 people who pursued the band called DIR EN GREY. It wasn’t something done that conciously, but it’s and album in which we were very aware of what DIR EN GREY wants to do from now on.

    I think this kind of power tends to come out when you’re young, but it’s not exhausted. It’s becoming more and more intense.     I know. But not all Hanji are Kanji and in the lyrics wikia version of the Wake lyrics, they use Hanji (exclusively Chinese characters).

    It's alright. I've listened to it nine times now, I think, and while it doesn't have the depth of my favourite album ARCHE, there are still new things to discover here and there.

    But then again, I don't have an ear for music, so I can't say much about the production or anything like that. It's not their best album, but it's definitely one to enjoy live.
