1 point2017 has been really weird so far, there're no new bands I can stan for which is sad (altho yuuki is recording something again so at least there's gonna be some good raaargs coming later) the Thing is sug disband suprised me just a tiny bit less than kameleo kaisaning earlier you'd have thot both were doomed for lasting and successful major careers that would've brought their tunez into every karaoke on tha block to be squaled by drunk normies, and would also bless their mediocrity with ripe profits, yet apparently! even spineless sell-out scene droids sometimes rebel against whatever creative corner they have pushed themselves into

1 pointYes, they already confirmed that they'll release the show on DVD (they held a crowdfunding in Japan to help pay for the budokan, one of the rewards was having your name on the DVD credits!) And yeah, I'll share my thoughts and all, but I suggest you follow SuG Worldwide Community on FB, I'm going with the owner of the page, he's the biggest SuG fan I know, his report will definitively be better!
-
1 pointI'm a little bit jealous Please make a report or status about how it went. Is there a DVD coming out for the budokan show since their first and last?

Bands You Loved and Then Realized You Don't Anymore

I have that feeling with A Beautiful Lie I remember pre-ordering their selftitled album after just downloading the Capricorn video from one of the music video rippings groups in IRC (there was no YT at that time), didnt even know Jared Leto was involved and then...they become very generic -

Bands You Loved and Then Realized You Don't Anymore
TrentReznor reacted to suji for a post in a topic
Tweener-me stanned this band so hard when A Beautiful Lie came out, but when they basically sold out starting with their third album with making mainstream ~revolution rock~ and venturing onto Maroon 5-tier pop music, I stopped listening to them altogether. It also didn't help that Jared Leto was becoming more of a celebrity and letting the fame get into his head. :/ Such a shame... -

Bands You Loved and Then Realized You Don't Anymore

From Japan: 人格ラヂオ: Thier first releases were great...but most of the stuff they did after their comeback is pretty mediocre being generous. Roach: Pretty much the same feeling as with 人格ラヂオ, but with them is a bit worse as they seem to "deny/forget" their first works. Western bands, many of them...and always for the same reaons, the most notorious examples: 30 seconds to mars: Such a great first CD, and then... Sugar Ray: really, wth happened with them... Incubus: The pretty much became an elevator music band -

1 pointY'all can call me Jae or Shi, I haven't used forums in forever so nicknames are a little odd. I'm 23, from middle of nowhere Canada. Found this forum randomly while looking up stuff on visual kei bands on and off over the past few years. I've been a filthy casual fan since about 2007 but stopped listening to most vk bands in 2011 (Isshi's death was mad hard on me, yo). I got back into Japanese music in 2013 but have been corrupted by a lot of the new indie/alternative rock bands so mainly listen to stuff like Sakanaction and Suchmos but also am a huge PTP fan. I'm obsessed with Susumu Hirasawa and he is ruining my life. I've worked a lot with Japanese exchange students and my interest in a wide variety of music has helped them to really connect with me. I hate most J-pop with a passion though, much to their dismay. Bands I've liked/loved a lot are BUCK-TICK, X, Plastic Tree, Malice Mizer, Kagrra. I still listen to all these bands almost daily. I don't know crap about new bands or anything really past 2011 but after talking with a Japanese student who likes many of the newer bands I thought I should try getting back into vk.

Show me your Top 8!
Mamo reacted to Original Saku for a post in a topic
Been using Last.fm since 2008, but I did a full reset back in January 2015 at about 40k scrobbles. here's my top 8 artists as well as albums. I'm now back at 24k, but my chart numbers don't really reflect that since I listen to so many different bands and artists XD also it's funny that Diru is #1 because I almost never listen to them on purpose.... I have their entire discography and like a few dozen live audio rips, so they come up a lot when I listen to my collection on shuffle. as a bonus my top songs. My account link is below in my sig, feel free to add me. -

1 pointI'm usually a lot more tolerant of TK's mainstream work, even if most of the time it tends to be unremarkable, but this is so boring.

1 pointKnowing sibilebashir, this is pretty much the funny kind of homage (see: their earlier homages, this band actually acknowledges that their memeing *works* for folks like us)
