This thread will have my picks from 2015, which will include a top 50 dedicated for my favorite songs, and a top 15 for albums and singles released that I most enjoyed. Do you liked it? It's cool to see someone else's top picks for 2015!! To be honest I don't care much for any of these artists except for XAA-XAA, but maybe this new year I will give these bands another listen!! Hard to come up with my own list... Not good with thinking of individual songs, because there's so many to choose from! But when it comes to releases, there are many that I loved from 2015 that really, in my opinion, brought me back into the visual kei scene... But they didn't seem to be popular with other fans here lol Like Dead Children's Haunted Vox and Devil Kitty's minialbum and both of GRIMOIRE's singles just to name a few.

I'm sorry, but what the hell is even going on here? Honestly, as long as a band doesn't say they no longer identify with the visual kei scene, like DIR EN GREY and L'Arc~en~Ciel did - if you start out in the scene and still keeps your roots in it, you are a VK band. Even GACKT every once in a while says he's a VK artist. I wish people would keep this in their minds more often. There's not an oshare-kei scene. Zeus said it perfectly - visual kei is a big umbrella that holds several different kinds of music and, for the most part, looks. AN CAFE, for example, started out in the scene, grew in popularity by playing in events with other VK bands and appearing in every kind of media directed to fans of the scene, were part of a VK label for years, etc. One of the cool things about VK for me was always the fact that there's always tons of different kinds of bands who, despite being completely different from each other, still play together for the same audience - the VK audience. Example: that huge visual kei festival (V-ROCK FESTIVAL) that took place years ago. Just check the list of artists who played there. tl;dr, it's not a matter of opinion, it's all VK.

Again, awesome list brah. Love that you took the time to do a big list with pictures and all. I really like pretty much everything on your list, my list shares some as well which you shall soon see, hehe. And it`s in numerical order, right? So 1 is your favorite of all? For me, the big surprises were the new challenger`s arriving with DiaWolf and Develop One`s Faculties. They create good, different music that has found many fans outside of a specific fanbase, I think they stand out as being a different style in your list, along with Moran. Also BORN really stepped up and killed it this year, too awesome. SCREW has some pretty cool tunes, I am not into them too much but they have some rocking songs like the one on your list. GAGA I have not listened to too much, I will check them out some more. BLACK GENE was also good, though they always change their style around. Anyway, thanks again for posting. It`s a lot of work, but it`s nice to look over when you are all done, like your own personal yearbook, huh?

The way I understood it, visual-kei is a big umbrella which has several sub-scenes, including but not limited to oshare-kei, nagoya-kei, kotekote-kei, etc. So for example all oshare bands are visual but not all visual bands are oshare. I just see them all as different flavors of visual-kei. I have heard of some more esoteric *-keis which describe the mannerisms of how they dress, but I have never heard anyone claim that these sub-kei's are completely separate from visual kei.

I'm pretty sure they are officially utilizing the love I have leftover from disappointment with 踊ってばかりの国's (odotte bakari no kuni) last two albums. Here's some nice 2014 gems that I don't believe have been posted yet. Ykiki Beat Just a grand indie pop anthem and interestingly enough, the singer almost has a Scottish accent! フレデリック (Frederic) I know @violetchain has posted about them a little, but here's their best video. So fun!

Dead Children and Devil Kitty's music don't worked to me. @@Tetora Number 1 is the favorite for me... and yes vistlip song, not BORN x'D For SCREW, this one and something BUDDHA was the one that really I trult enjoyed. Black Gene changed a lot since SALA left and SAN joined the band, but I still like them ^^ Yes, it took a lot of work, tbqh I'm pretty satisfied seeing it here lol

This saddens me the most tbh. (before you start calling me an hater, let me remind you that I own every albums and EPs ok). I love D and their music, and I'm sad to see this plunge, which I understand, and sometimes not. Their comeback is for me the most frustrating moment of the year. They left with KINGDOM, which was a fabulous album (probably one of my most listened album of 2015), and after a long wait, they come back with 2 low-quality singles and an awful concept already done by them?? I don't understand. They've got a fabulous and unique voice, skilled musicians, they know how to write tunes, and they come back with this kind of songs? (oh I know, it's light and happy, we need to open our mind etc but we are talking about D, not a rookie band). Are they trying to appeal the new young vk public? I thought nonetheless they were doing good, according to the massive crowd from their latest live DVD?? Well, I guess it's like everything. The more you release bad stuff, the more the fans are leaving the boat. Even if I enjoyed both singles, in a whole it's totally disappointing. Where is D's savoir faire? I missed that. I don't care if they are surfing on the vampire kitsch / King & Queen stuff, at least it was good quality. tl;dr: the frustration is real. Wake up ffs!!

I feel bad for their fans, but personally I hope Kaya will get back to his solo career (and/or Schwarz Stein), and that the other members continue in other, more worthwhile projects. In theory this could've been an awesome band (see: Meties), but it was missing some good tunes imo.
