I agree. I think they've done a really good job of depicting mental illness, so much so that it hit much too close to home for me as well and I had to leave the cinema about halfway through the movie. I've been (consciously) struggling with depression for half my life and I'm currently in a phase (in therapy) where things are looking up, I feel more connected, more awake and present and therefor much more vulnerable and sensitive towards depictions of mental illness, addiction and so forth.

I wouldn't necessarily say it's a question of age though but rather how sensitive you are and whether you've struggled with similar issues in your past or not.

You're doing it for the wrong reasons then. Realising things like that in the way you're describing is just a part of growing up imo. Of course "geeky" stuff like obsessing over music or anime won't be enough to fulfill you. But that doesn't mean that it's "worthless". You'll have to transgress the thought that all this stuff makes up who you are, that's not a helpful perspective. But the fact that these things are a part of your life in the way they are is actually interesting and says a lot about you.

TIW for sure... because even if you take CHE DO A RA into account, it's the least metalcore sounding of the three and boy does metalcore turn me off, especially in combination with electronics. 

I'm with you. I would argue though that a certain immobility or apathy when it comes to innovation is symptomatic of every niche genre. The extent of that immobility grows in proportion to number of parameters required to constitute that niche.

But "mainstream" vk has always been strongly influenced by trends in popular music anyway and that's not exactly the frontier of creativity either. That's why I think that looking at the fringes of certain genres is generally most interesting... well, it depends on what you're looking for, I guess.

Oh yeah! The "mode of" concerts still overwhelm and astonish me. I can only imagine how intense it must've been to witness them live.

I'm actually disappointed by Immortal Verses. I think it's only marginally better than Recurrence Of Hallucination because even though we get five "new" songs, they still sound recycled and partly copied & pasted from older SS or Hora's solo material 😔 Also, Kaya is a great singer but the vocals sound a little strange in the mix at times. Vocals should never invoke the image of "guy in small room singing loudly into a mic", at least not with such persistence as is the case with this mini. Where's Schwarz Stein's ethereal vibe? It's like they lost touch with themselves. Wachtraum is the only song I didn't want to skip on first listen 😕 

Hora's RESONANT on the other hand really surprised me. I was expecting the same old but he actually seems to have progressed a little sonically with this one. It's a very somber, moody, and atmospheric album. He seems to have borrowed a little from movie soundtracks and put his own spin on it which I really like (I was getting strong Disasterpiece ["It follows" soundtrack] vibes for example).

I once had that problem, too. I used this workaround and it did the job:

"You're going to have to delete every song in your iTunes library. DO NOT DELETE THE FILES THEMSELVES, just in your iTunes music library select all then hit the delete key and make sure you don't move the files to the trash. Then you have to import all your music again. Find it in this path: user/music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music. You can just drag and drop that music folder into iTunes. Caution: For this solution, all your playlists will need to be remade and your genius data will need to fully sync with Apples servers." source

If iTunes manages your files automatically, make sure to make a copy of your music folder before you delete it in iTunes! Hope that fixes your problem!
