New Ash is definitely one of their best remakes. on a scale from Tsumi to Batsu to MACABRE it's about a ZAN, possibly even higher. If Kyo had delivered better on some sloppy vocal parts I might've rated it as their best even. They've finally hit a stride with remakes around Vestige where it feels like the whole band actually listened to the original track before setting out to record it.

Unexpectedly had to put our bunny down today. Sleep well, little fuzzball.

Is there anyone from Sweden here with a decent knowledge of places to visit in Stockholm? Thinking about record shops (new or used, but I am more interested in the latter) and nerd stores (board games, comics, movies and shit).
Help plz!

the worst shit is when a band says they're gonna be aiming for a more 'mature' sound on their next release and the end result is that you're stuck with an album consisting mainly of ballads instead

I alway think to myself that I want drag queens to start a black metal band, but then I remember we have visual kei ... that kinda counts, right?

To all VK fans in Germany - on Friday I'm DJing Visual Kei at the Kabuki RockStyle party in Bochum. Make sure to be there to listen to some awesome music and talk to me!

The Samidare cover has a 2005 Girugamesh vibe in it. Such a precious legacy track from my boys.

If you just want to hit 1000 you can go to PureSound and buy random 10yen sale items like shazna or L'arc singles!
You should focus on building a collection of stuff you can be proud to own, curating the collection is a good step to take too when you feel you've reached a large amount, at least I find a lot of joy in sorting the items and displaying the items I like the most from shelves and such.

Would it be against the forum rules if I share a poor quality rip and once Nihon Ongaku reposts it I switch it for a high quality one?🤔🤔🤔
Kind of a rethoricak question, Zeus, please don't ban my ass outta here yet 😹

Deliberately sharing low quality rips is not a good idea. Usually the first rip uploaded is the one that stays on the Internet, and for that reason it's doing the scene a disservice in the long run.
I think keeping rips here is a good ideal because it would concentrate the fanbase to one place, and I'd be willing to help out in making sure they stay here, but ultimately if people are hellbent on sharing on their blogs there's nothing we can do about it.

Were CoЯe the Child popular here / in the Western fanbase at the time they were around? Sometimes it's hard to tell how people got into things. For example: a lot of people only tried Dué Le Quartz because Miyavi was in it, not the other way around. Trying to see if UnsraW's success was just a natural continuation of Yuuki's old band, or did he just happen to get lucky by doing the same thing but at the right place and time.

Since Yuuki was the main songwriter of both bands, he simply imported a lot of the material from CTC into UnsraW. Even their breakthrough track, -9-, was originally a CTC song, there's a teaser of it at the end of their last live sold single, and it was played live several times.
I think it was just the result of new band hype, a solid first single, and lucky exposure to the west early through YouTube which was just taking off for music. To be fair they never reached any heights in Japan beyond the average VK band, they played their onemans at Takadanobaba AREA and things like that.

I think the ratio is similar to DLQ and Miyavi and CTC and UnsraW, there were certainly some people here and there who knew of them, but few compared to how it is today. I caught the tail end of CTC and the transition to UnsraW, but I don't remember any following until -9- received favourable response from the community when it came up on Youtube.
