  1. Countdown begins. It's been a great 10+ years giving you guys rarez and such. I know most of you really appreciate it. I love how you all collectively think I was a huge bitch when you DMed me, but got the total opposite. I'll still be here, but I won't be uploading. There's a tie for 3rd so you guys get 4 releases thing. Also if you wanted to play my guessing game, it'd be fun, and you can a list of rarez I have that you can choose from.

Idk where do I find that game that you hint but looking at your twitter "completed BUK BUK discography" I can tell you that at least 1 release is missing (at least in the picture) :P

  2. Why do all these new Vkei bands dress like Kpop rejects? I guess asking your friend who knows how to sew or a mistu/Tsunagari doesn't work anymore. Go big and flop like Xodiack, at least that's an attempt at visual kei artistry. Remember it's us gajins fault for not buying their digital mini.

In general, the brands, magazines, stores for "rockish"/"gothic" vk style (not the extreme costumes) changed/vanished completely in the last 3-4 years I felt. At first everywhere stores changed towards a more colorful/"hip hop" look and since 2-3 years K-Pop Style. And that is what I felt I could looking at people especially in Harajuku. The only store l feel is left is Civarize and even that is more miss than hit lately for me (with the renewal of 109mens so many cool stores closed and change to such a bad style in my opinion..).

Its just what japanese girls/boys like these days I guess. In Harajuku since 2-3 years you see more and more people that just look like what I imagine K-Pop Style looks like.

  4. クランキー from LAW's album sounds like early 00's Volark/WERKMARE/∀NTI FEMINISM/PIASS song to me. Amazing!

Skipped them when everyone loved them over 10 years ago. Checking them now I am shocked at what amazing gem I missed there (but even more shocked to read they were on UCP!?!). Atmosphere in parts reminds me of another god-tier band, Uma. Early 2003-2006 was really the peak of creative vk bands!

  7. I'm listening to classic Lynch and can't find the lyrics for the chorus of Liberation Chord. Do any of you fine people know so I can shout along for my neighbours? XD

This is what is written in the booklet for the lyrics for the scream part of thechorus:

"Yes, you know the deep pain ------------"

(I guess the part you search is really just "----------" in the booklet).

  8. Since most of us don't speak Japanese, the translate tool is essential in spreading vk news to this site and other outlets. However, as it is automated, it's not gonna be 100% correct, so I always welcome any corrections from native or fluent speakers if necessary.

What I don't like however is when I or anyone else is being accused of starting rumors all because of a mistranslation or an error. That's not helpful at all - that's just being an asshole. If you're unhappy about that, then maybe speak up sooner or contribute once in a while.

    1. filth_y

While I think it was completely not your intention to spread rumors, the wrong information will/might spread itself. Especially with such senstivie topics like the one i think you might reffer to. Even I was shocked to read the news, not bothering to read the actual japanese since english is still much easier for me to read. I checked how google translate would translate it and when you just translate the whole text it has a different outcome as if you translate sentence piece by piece (divide even each sentence after particles like で, に, etc. (that might help if you use google translate)).

However rumors are a part of the foreign vk fandom.. I often read rumors here that people read on any forum e.g. batsu 10 years ago and always come back to them. Or judge people based on tweets, bandpictures, etc.

  9. MEIDARA's free live in Ikebukuro Cyber was pretty fun, tbh. Don't bother to write about it since there's not much to tell but we went a little late, it was already in action and got our spots. Not too familiar with the songs but the one thing i adored was that it was a little reminiscent of メメント・モリ, i miss them so much.  Older grandpa came to chat with me after the live outside and was shocked that i was wearing such clothes that have traditional Japanese signs, haha. ありがとう!

Where there many people at their live now? I remember seeing them at an event last year and they had 0 fans but were the ones trying the hardest to make people enjoy the live, especially their (really handsome) guitarist. Felt really pity for them..

  10. It’s funny how when it’s a generic pop-rock band like Zero[Hz] you guys are like “COULD IT BE MORE GENERIC?” “SO MUCH MORE OF THE SAME” but when’s it’s the most generic “MAMA I’M A PSYCHOPATH” band like Mamireta you worship them to the death....... Very funny.

    1. filth_y

      filth_y

Even tho i do like Mamireta, i agree with what you wrote. But i've seen this extremly limited way of looking at music at this forum over its 10 years way too often to even wonder anymore (probably everywhere where music is discussed tho..). Just every 1-3 years its a bunch of other/new members worshipping every shit a band takes. And its mostly (shitty) heavy bands.

Thanks! I think Crucifixion might be worth checking but when i think of BugScream i think of more Pop-orientated? I felt the bands i wrote are like the 90s stuff that Grieva was good at "bringing back"? I have a lack of knowledge for this 90s/early 00's type of sound, so might be totally wrong.. I was also thinking of Insanity Injection.

  14. please serious answers only but i am really wondering why it seems like no one here on MH seems to care for the band DictavE?

they make really great music so i am really just curious why that is cuz compared to other heavy Vk bands which get enough recognition i don't see any authoritative difference.... Ôó

    1. filth_y

      filth_y

For mh i think cause most of their stuff isnt available for free and their look isnt interesting enough (the 2 reasons most people here are fans of a band)?

I was interested when seeing them live the first time (didnt know their sound but remember you wrote alot about them; went for another band). I didnt like them mostly, couldnt stand the vocalist most of the time, the songs are too boring for me. However, one good thing, their song Last Dance, which they played last, was one of the best songs and best performances i've seen last year and really stuck in my head. Also they were one of the bands most interacting with their fans after the live (talking the entire time between bands with their fans).

^Well, if you like all of -OZ- i thought DEVIZE might be something for you girls. They had lost me after elf but i heard there might be people listening to their roughly 30-40 b-side filler songs put out 2008-2012 ;)

  17. today i was at zepp tokyo and i saw R指定/アルルカン/DIAURA/DEZERT/NOCTURNAL BLOODLUST/MEJIBRAY and all of them were AMAZING live!

got myself a pretty sick looking towel of NOCTURNAL BLOODLUST which they haven't even listed at the "goods" section on their OHP.

but as good the lives were the reality hit pretty hard after the concert. cuz while leaving the hall and going back to the station it was like curb crawling.

like srsly at least 10-15 indies Vk bandguys trying to hand out flyers after the concert to promote themselfes and because i and my wife obviously don't look like japanese we were totally ignored cuz logigally we aren't the main target they aim for... japanese young girls...... - OUCH! that hurt my heart a tiny little bit tonight....^^°

  18. Would anyone be interested in buying all my Melody stuff(I have everything but one demo tape and 1 single) and Sibilebashir stuff up to Tsukihime?(sans :未練の雨(復刻盤) and 未練の雨(漆黒盤)).

  19. I have done the research and GossiP is NOT a GazettE copy.

First, I'm making this as a status rather than a forum post, because I don't want to start a toxic forum post. If I get flamed, I'll just delete this status.

Second, to the main point. I hear people say GossiP is a copy of The GazettE, and I can kind of see where they're getting at, but let's look at the facts. GossiP is very influenced by the GazettE, specifically their early, heavier era. Saku's vocal style is very similar to Ruki's, and they both share similar makeup. HOWEVER, Ruki's has a more child like quality and is meant to represent insanity, whereas Saku's is more aggressive, and has influence from traditional Japanese singing/narration. While The GazettE did play around with nostalgiac Japanese elements in the early days, GossiP's full on aesthetic is basically Japanese Nostalgia (Though they have gone outside a few times, like with Psycho Pass and Darekasan Ga Koronda). What I mean by Japanese Nostalgia is basically mixing of old Japanese (Edo period to be precise) with pre-modern (Meiji restoration to 1945) elements. Like, old military outfits, calligraphy everywhere, archaic dialect, traditional houses, etc.

In terms of sound, that's where things really diverge. Most of GossiP's influence comes from their old band "JyuLie", which had pretty much the same sound, just sometimes with Japanese Instruments. Now what are JyuLie's influences? Well, it's mostly a mish mash of Byakura (whom they collaborated with once), The GazettE, R-Shitei, Ningen Isu, etc. In GossiP, the Byakura influence is a bit less, but you see a lot of Punk Rock and Hardcore Punk influence in GossiP. Yes, while there is a lot in The GazettE too, The GazettE is more conventional in terms of sound. GossiP kind of takes things further. Like "Baka Aho Manuke Banzai". It has a full on Hardcore Punk sound. And even in songs with direct Gazette influence, like Akudoukai Kusottare Koushinkyoku, they make it a bit more heavier, adding more metal elements.

Also, I have not heard a GossiP or GazettE song that use the same melodies. Also, The GazettE has a genre which I haven't seen in GossiP. Metalcore. I haven't heard a GossiP song that I would call Metalcore. Only Metalcore influenced.

So in conclusion, is GossiP is GazettE copy? Nope. Very influenced and obviously looks up to the GazettE? Definitely. I can understand though why Gaze fans may be worried. With how influential the GazettE has gotten, there are GazettE clones everywhere. GossiP however, is not one of them.

Do you play any instrument? Even if not you can easily recognize that Vocal, Guitar, Bass and Drum patterns/rhytms/melodies ARE taken from other bands, not only from THE GAZETTE. Its a fact. You can still enjoy the band but to write you did "research" makes you look ridiculous. Throwing around genre names i feel you've never listened to. Just now im listening to 亡骸よ from the single CHEMICAL FILTH. The intro guitar is from 蜉蝣 - 繩 the melodies in the guitar solo are also from some vk song. I think we could find the 3-5 songs 亡骸よ is built of but i dont have the time to do that now. And we could do that with most of their disco. I like ゴシップ but how ignorant must you be to not accept they are talentless, bad musicians only sounding great on CD and looking good in photoshopped pictures. That is how most of vk works.

And making this a status update so you can delete it if someone can prove you wrong just adds totally on top of your joke status.

  20. The fact that so many people still say things like "buy cds to support your favorite bands" is, quite frankly, childish and ridiculous . Fact is, being able to listen to music is a RIGHT, not some sort of privilege to be obtained by wasting money. All these ''musicians'' trying to make it big are greedy, talentless hacks who dont even DESERVE money. REAL artists play and don't care if we pay.

    1. filth_y

      filth_y

As much as i enjoy most of your funny, childish, stupid or "whatever you may call them" comments or trolling on here over the years - and i somewhat dont care if people buy or dl cds - to say to listen to music is a right was by far the dumbest IMO. :\

Enjoyed it a lot, even tho i felt that i've heard all riffs before. Also got some late 90's/early 00's "nu metal" vibes from it which really suprised me. While 90% of their discography is super repetetive to listen (but amazing live) with  the same song structures, same riffs over and over and over again, the good songs they have are really good, with this single being their best thing yet for me (as a closed piece; albums with 90% fillers suck).
