Kissing someone's ass because you fancy them isn't attractive. Find a better way to show it 🤢

I once had a guy try to flirt with me (even though he already had a girlfriend, and she was the thirty-seventh one, I believe) and he kept going on about how he was a gentleman and he wouldn't stop flirting/calling me pet names until I started being snarky and withdrawn around him (I initially just told him I wasn't interested, but apparently that wasn't enough). He's not so bad now that he's taken the damn hint, but it shouldn't have taken as long as it did. I just hope girlfriend #38 is happy (if they're even still together, that is).

In short, I feel ya. People need to learn that some degree of modesty and actually trying to get to know someone for who they are is a lot more attractive than just smothering them because they caught your eye once. If that guy had known what a cheeky bitch I was when he first saw me, he most likely wouldn't have bothered. 😕

FFVII looks great but I'm concerned that Cloud will be all mopey and boring like in Advent Children as opposed to his badass, wise-cracking original self.

I'm also worried they'll make it all a bit too sombre. They'd better not take out some of his most golden lines, such as "let's mosey".

    Looks like it's actually happening.

IT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL, I NEED IT ON STEAM NOW ❤️ but y'know, ever since I heard mention of this remake, I've been wondering what they're gonna do about the whole Wall Market scene with Don Corneo and the Honeybee Inn. They probably won't change the Don Corneo part too much, but the Honeybee Inn? Mayhaps. It was an optional scene, after all... still, they'd better not. If they do, I shall be severely disappointed. I kinda miss the more comedic elements of the older games.

Anyways, A Plague Tale looks quite good. It's coming out on May 13th on Steam, and I might just buy it.

    I just hope it's a long game because it's £39.99 and I want my money's worth.

Honestly, I'd say the TOXIC era played a BIG role in the birth of the new/current generation of VK fans, solely by this song being in that anime.

After the concert the other day and seeing the fans and hearing their little knowledge of the scene itself,  this statement is very accurate.

It's true that there exist GazettE fans who don't really know much about VK, but I don't actually think that's such a bad thing in itself. I've heard a lot of people saying they don't like when people only like one VK band and don't know much about any others, but so what? Maybe they don't want to be a part of the VK fandom as a whole. Of course, it is kind of annoying when people claim to be huge VK fans who know everything about loads of bands when they really don't, but even that's something I can turn a blind eye to. It's not like it's the worst thing in the world, and they might just be newcomers who have a lot to discover but don't yet know it. We all started somewhere, after all.

  5. Me again. I dream a lot.

Last night, I dreamt that I found a cuboid-shaped splinter in my little finger. For some reason, I had a gap in between my finger and fingernail where a hangnail would be, so I could peer inside it slightly and see a little fraction of it... and I just pulled the thing out. It ripped my hand open and revealed more splinters, so I just kept pulling them out until the entire inside of my hand was revealed. It was just a bloody tangle of flesh and wood, like the inside of a human marionette. That was exceptionally creepy.

And on that note, I'm going to bed to have another weird dream. It's half three in the morning, so about time. Thankfully, I don't have college tomorrow.

    1) What are the indicators that make a song "ghostwritten" for you? And that it is not?

    2) What are the indicators that make a band "idol kei"? And that it is not?

    3) Where would you put its birth date?

    4) Do they qualify as "good music" or not? Do you enjoy them? Do not?

    5) Does it seem to you that this certain music goes "against" (to put it somehow) of certain "well-being" of the scene, or of the music itself?

    6) Why are you still listening to VK in the 2010s? Are your reasons the same as before? What does it give you that other music does not give you?

    1. Well, I agree with @yomii's point of not accusing a song of ghostwriting until I know for sure that it is. Better to let a guilty person go than to condemn an innocent person (in my eyes, at least).

    2. I guess "idol kei" is a somewhat broad and debatable term, but when I first saw this term used, I assumed it meant simply generic and mass-produced instead of created from individual passion, so I'll go with that. To me, the indicators of an idol kei band would be nowt more than bland looks and music, possibly accompanied by some quickly overused gimmick (*cough cough* face reveals *cough cough cough*) and a relatively short, forgettable career.

    3. Difficult for me to say, as I wasn't active in the community again until about last year. I took a bit of a break and I didn't really find out anything that was going on at the time. As much as I'd like to try, it'd be pretty much impossible for me to pin a date on this.

    4. By definition, no. If it's bland, I won't care for it. Everyone's definitions of "bland" are different from each other, so if I personally find something that fits my description of the word, then I won't like it. There are, of course, bands forming today that I do like. For example, SHiSHi are pretty much one of my favourites already. Also, whatever happened to Blue Blood Boa? That one song I heard from them was fantastic. Please tell me I didn't simply miss anything from them. But I digress...

    5. For me, personally? Somewhat. Just because something doesn't adhere to my tastes, that doesn't mean for sure that it's hurting the music scene, however I do have a very low opinion of ghostwriting, so if that is indeed the case and I see cold, hard proof of that fact, then it's a cold, hard yes.

    6. Because I'm a young'un who didn't discover it until the 2010s! :D To answer the last point of "what does it give me", that's actually quite difficult to say. Obviously, the visual aspect caught twelve-year-old me's attention because the arse-end of England doesn't exactly have an abundance of middle-aged men with animoo hairstyles who look prettier than women in their twenties, but it's the musical aspect that's more important to me, and as long as there are existing/disbanded bands who formed some time ago that I love (e.g. Moran, Sugar, DIAURA, etc) and the odd band forming every now and again that can really hold my attention (SHiSHi probably being the best example of this), I'm going to stay. I guess you could say I came for the hot guys and I stayed for the great music, so if the music does indeed turn completely stale (which, tbh, probably won't happen because I don't think there's ever a 100% terrible music genre), I'll go somewhere else... although I can't think where. I genuinely cannot imagine what kind of music I could get properly into like I have J-rock, and I am not going back to my emo phase. People see my hair and they think I'm still in it sometimes, but they shoulda seen me back then 😮 hoo, boy.

Anyways, I've spent longer typing this than I probably should have and now my dinner's likely getting cold.

Well even if this sounds rude it’s true

Well, yeah. He was only saying what needed to be said. It's his life and his business and anyone who would shame him for that does, indeed, need to keep quiet. Why is that "fans" can say whatever the hell they want, but celebrities have to just remain within the confines of their careers? I get that they have this image of their idols, and that's okay. What's not okay is when that image begins to distort your perception of reality, which is what's happening here and I just can't wrap my head around it.

Japanese fans literally can't accept their faves being in a romantic relationship, whenever stuff like that gets leaked it's always treated as a huge scandal.

It surprises me that that Takamasa has decided to acknowledge it and speak out about it, truly shows the role that Tanuki plays in the vk scene.

It's really sad that bandmen have to be paranoid about their private lives simply because fans aren't mature enough to accept them having girlfriends/wives.

It's the "I spend money on you therefore I own you" mentality that is exclusive to Japanese fan culture. Crazily enough, western fans are much more respectful and understanding in that sense.

Couldn't have put it better myself!

  9. Last night, I dreamt that all the machines/AI in the world had developed an inexplicable hostility towards Bobby Hill from King Of The Hill. According to my meter (which I had for some reason), 81% of them wanted to physically hurt him while the remaining 19% merely wanted to bother him.

It was such a strange dream. Even though it feels hazy in my memory, I can still recall that much with clarity. It feels like the sort of dream I should have forgotten, but for whatever reason, I didn't.

i hate that he wears that poop thing on his head after confessing he's married

it screams "i'm a piece of shit for getting married "

and doing it in such indirect way like it's just a joke makes it even worse for me

Maybe he feels guilty because he knows there are some people who would be resentful? It wouldn't surprise me, unfortunately :(

  11. NAZARE. Their songs are a complete mess and just to top it all off, they have petulant crybaby Issei in the line-up. I can separate the art from the artist (as long as they haven't done anything too nefarious), but he just adds insult to injury, IMO.

run it through gtranslate and get mind blown

So, to summarise, they replaced Aggy's bass track without him knowing and then he tried to get in a replacement for Juri when he lost his voice until he got it back, only they were actually gonna fire him completely, so Juri got pissed off and refused to speak with him. Juri still gets on with Leda but Leda hates Aggy… unless I read this completely wrong.
