  1. @JukaForever: I guess your right. Although, I interpreted that blurb more in a sandbox way where someone might try out as many different things to test the limits of a game's engine. Or comparing games like Elder Scrolls where it's highly customizable and the game plays however you want, and Halo where you play as a named character with an identity and progress the game linearly with little room to try different things. I guess I wanted questions directly about puzzles. "Cerebral challenge" type questions.

  2. I'd have to go with the truffle fries.

All the other ones taste more or less the same, and not very good at that. They faintly taste like what they're named after, but I mean, I'd rather just have the real thing.

To be honest though, I'm not really crazy about any of them. The truffle fries don't taste particularly unique so I don't think it really deserves to be its own flavor. It tastes like sour cream and onions with garlic. : |

I wish they asked questions related to puzzle games or puzzles in games.

I really like DOS shooters like Blood and Duke Nukem 3D, old survival horror games like Resident Evil 2 and Silent Hill 3, and those games where each time you start you have to collect power ups to get stronger and kill bosses like Binding of Isaac and Risk of Rain.

These guys are great. They make reaction videos to other youtube videos. The main guy, Ethan, makes pretty funny sarcastic comments and calls things out as they are. They also make really interesting ".exe" videos which are essentially...youtube poops? Pretty great if you like sarcastic comedy in the form of reaction videos.

     I also like:

    VIDEO GAMES

LGR - Clint is a major DOS fiend and does reviews on old DOS games. He goes pretty in depth and is really into collecting box art, etc. so you get a lot of history and release info. Great for people who want all the details. He's not terribly funny or clever but is enjoyable to listen to.

Accursed Farms (Ross's Game Dungeon) - Ross talks about PC games as well. A majority of games he talks about are DOS games, but the kind of game and platform really varies. A couple games he's covered are Eternam, Potty Pigeon, Carnevil, and Strife. He's also the guy who created Freeman's Mind for people who know the Half-Life parody.

    Other:

    -Angry Video Game Nerd

    -JonTron

    -ProJared

    MOVIES

CinemaSins - Guys who basically point out faults in a movie. They critique movies on cliches, how real to life they are, story, characters, etc. They're quite funny and witty at times.

  5. I dunno, musically I thought it was good, alright, but I think Ruki just doesn't make great melodies any more. His choruses don't catch my attention. Especially on slow songs. Since Division they're all executed similarly in progression and structure. Very flowy and flat.

I do agree that this is probably one of the most solid songs they've released in a while. The first 1:30 seconds are really great. They've definitely nailed integrating electonics with their Gazerock and props to them for struggling through and sticking with new musical elements. They really wanted it and fought hard for it.

  6. Just finished my first listen and it wasn't bad. *I've been listening to it the whole time writing this, so 3 times is more accurate lol*

I definitely agree when you say that this is the catchiest music they've made so far. DIStopping was great, but Olest definitely has more infectious chorus' (chorus's??). I was pleasantly surprised with tracks like "around thirty dreaming" and how they were able to retain their sound while injecting that refined pop sound. I was sort of expecting the duo to lose practically all their unique sound after going major, but I'm glad they proved me wrong. Like CAT5 said, it's definitely less quirky and unique, but their core sound is still there.

The length was perfect. Becaue DIStopping had so many songs, I found it hard to listen to in one sitting. I can easily see me listening through all of OLest while just studying or driving somewhere without feeling like it's dragging on. As a side note, I found the second half of the album to be much more enjoyable.

I like OLest because I feel it shows growth from DIStopping. Like you said, it's shorter but manages to be tighter and create more diversity. I can see why people wouldn't enjoy this release as much, but I personally found it just as great. Well, maybe not AS great but like you said, that's pretty hard to top.
