    gotta give them props for going on hiatus 10 years later the same way they started out, as a DEG copy band.

    To be fair, they sounded more like indie GazettE when they first started. Me personally, for the most part, I didn't hear DEG influences until Madrigal (and the piano opening in Parasitic Scene).

    Rant

    Take these songs for example:

    -Meisai

    -M.F.P.

    -Children of despair

    -Silent Eve

    -Ice Romancer

    -Crimson Tear

    -Swallow Rain

    -Ever

    -crymore

    -rainfall

    -koe

    -voyage

    Do any of these songs sound like DEG? Besides some songs being dark and heavy, in melody and style there's not much similarity. And these are songs both early and late in their career. They've taken influence from a lot of other bands too. Some parts of "awaki gunjou" remake sound exactly like parts of lynch.'s "ambivalent ideal". And let's not forget "Suicidal Rock City" intro ripping off the GazettE "vortex". Call them out when they deserve it but give them credit where it's due. They're not just a DEG copy band and, when they choose to, they've proven they can write some great music.

    I think Mao's look is the only thing that was Diru-esque. I mean c'mon, when have/will Diru ever attempt something like GANGSTA? ;)

    Actually, the photo above has no dodging done in it. I just adjusted the exposure, brightness, and colors a bit. I overdid things and yeah, as you both mentioned, the colors and lighting aren't the best.

    No I appreciate the constructive criticism!

    Compliments are great but it's good to know in what areas I need improvement.

     

    The clutter is actually something I wanted for this photo though. I wanted the viewer to just look at everything and nothing in particular. It's what I felt when I first walked inside and so wanted to translate through the photo.

    I've never warped an image's converging verticals to be straight so I might try that to see what it looks like.

    What is dodging? I've used burning before to darken certain areas but have never heard of dodging. Also, what areas would you do that for (as well as for saturation)?

    I've just started a new edit and the dodging and burning is making things loads better. I just usually mess around with adjustment layers (exposure, brightness/contrast, curves, etc.) because it's simple, but I might start taking the time to use these tools.

    My parent's own a pizza restaurant and I befriended one of their customers. He's an engineer on an Alaskan fishing boat.

    He said he'd bring us back some salmon and one day he really did! So I cooked a little something.

    It's Wild Alaskan Salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus (topped with plain Greek yogurt and a crushed walnut and garlic topping).

    I wish the poll was a multi-select.

    I do vinyl if I can because they just look so cool and I like CDS too because above reasons. I don't mind having the same release on different mediums.

    But what about Casette tapes?? I know they're inferior in audio quality to the other formats but there's something special about them!

    Last night I had a dream that Conan O’Brien invited me to be on his show at some industrial park. He was showing me around when all of a sudden emo Mark Zuckerberg in a nice suit (kind of like Peter Parker in Spider-Man 3) showed up. He apparently bullied Conan since they went to school together in 3rd grade. 

     

    Anyways, he told Conan that he had a surprise for him, “something that’ll blow his mind out of this world.” Conan thought it was a rocket ship because he’s always wanted one and got REALLY excited. When Mark revealed his surprise, it was an empty hanger. Conan got really upset and ran away in tears and Mark just stood there laughing. I chased after Conan and he told me to go away. So, in the end I didn’t get to go on the show. What a bummer for both of us.
