Joel reacted to VkBrutaliaN in new band "CALVARIA" has formed
just for fun fact cuz i thought it's pretty interesting and i was quite surprised all harsh vocals (in both songs from their first release) are in Latin.
here are the Latin lyrics for "Ave Maria"
"gratia plena, dominus tecum, benedicta tu in mulieribus
et benedictus fructus ventris tui jesus
sancta maria mater dei
ora pro nobis peccatoribus
nunc et in hora mortis nostrae"
really curious now in case they are able to release a few more CDs for how long the vocalist can keep it up with the Latin lyrics...

https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/390811-new-bands-button-for-monochrome-heaven
I made a button w/ JavaScript that links to a search query including "formed" sorted by newest. Use TamperMonkey or some other userscript manager extension.
Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tampermonkey/dhdgffkkebhmkfjojejmpbldmpobfkfo?hl=en
Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tampermonkey/
Tampermonkey (and other browser versions): http://www.tampermonkey.net/
var body = document.getElementsByClassName("ipsDataItem_subList ipsList_inline")[0]; Change the index "[0]" to subsequent numbers if it's under the wrong subforum.
*😭 Already on version 0.5 b/c of my nitpicky ass. It's finalized for now...
** Actually just read the posts because i'm sloooooow.
Seems like you wanted the opposite... Uh, that sounds like it's gonna be a no... It would be nice if the search plugin had "contains none".... You would get a shit-ton of searches tho...Also, it wouldn't be a pleasant experience going through the news that way.
*** Oh, forgot my opinion on the matter. It seems like extra work for little benefit. New band threads get updated w/ first or 0th singles most of the time, and if they last like 5 seconds you can just update it w/ "and disbanded". Additionally, to prevent a thread from becoming your standard news one w/ reactions + updates, a mod would have to lock every single thread in that subforum, assuming there was only one initial post. Also, "unnecessary clog" is subjective, lul.

Joel reacted to -NOVA- in Your last music-related buy!
I just got home from seeing Crystal Lake here in Los Angeles. I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to Ryo for a min. Super nice guy, he was kind enough to sign a copy of Helix for me.

Joel reacted to Keiyuu in KISAKI conspiracy? Strange things I noticed related to Kisaki's old bands Levia and LAYBIAL
I noticed some very strange things about Kisaki's bands Levia and LAYBIAL, which were around in 1993 and 1994. For example, this is the tracklisting of the MISS tape by LAYBIAL.
01. Dejavu
02. MISS
03. virginig Plesures
04. Refuse
05. MOTHER
06. One More Love
Official source: http://under-ground-music.com/kisakihppart/english/DiscShosai.php?shohinNo=000009
Also in the mid-90s there was a band called VICE∞RISK. They released the tape Mother and this is the tracklist:
01. Virgining Plesures
02. Refuse
03. Mother
04. One More Love
I saw the lyrics sheet with my own eyes, so I can confirm that it's real.
Now let's look at Levia's KELOID tape:
01. KELOID
02. PRAY
Official source: http://under-ground-music.com/kisakihppart/english/DiscShosai.php?shohinNo=000007
Around the same time there was a band called Nude of J. Their 傷痕 demo looks like this:
01. KELOID
02. 恋に焦がれ愛に埋もれ
03. PRAY
I also saw a sheet of this tape, the tracklist is legit.
I can upload pics of the VICE∞RISK and Nude of J tracklists, if you guys want to see a proof.
So.. Can anyone explain this? For me, it doesn't make sense at all.
VICE∞RISK and Nude of J seem to be COMPLETELY unrelated to Kisaki or his bands. I even compared the member names, because sometimes members went into different bands and rerecorded songs they've written for another band, but there's not a single similar name anywhere.
Was Kisaki making things up when he decided to release information about this old bands and just took random songtitles of obscure bands from that time? O:
Or did the bands just covered each other, which is highly unlikely...
I know there's a KISAKI history book out there. Maybe someone here owns it, so we could compare the titles? But I'm 99% sure that it will contain the same information as on that UCP site.

Joel reacted to TheZigzagoon in DIMLIM
>makes live limited CD
>makes it available at a single live, inaccessible for a good chunk of fans
>overseas fans resort to downloading it to listen
>band wonders why their inaccessible music is being downloaded and complain about it
I’m sorry but Retsu can’t sit and whine about their INACCESSIBLE music being downloaded by fans who don’t wanna pay crazy second hand prices. I notice it’s only Retsu making these complaints and being loud on social media whilst Hiroshi and Sho keep quiet on the matter

Joel got a reaction from Total Saikou in Honest opinions on K POP?
It all sounds the same to me its just as shallow as American pop music, I don't see a difference so I will never understand why K-Pop is as popular as it is. It has to have one of the worst fandom's I've ever seen though, I've never seen a music genre with a community as bad as K-Pop's. The only thing I can compare it to are video games like Undertale and FNAF (albeit Undertale was a decent game).
K-Pop song: 음경
16 year old white girls: omg this is so deep i relate 2 this....

Yeah, when I saw them last year he was really struggling with those high screeches but otherwise good performance so no real compaints from me. But tbh, I wouldn't expect someone to be able to pull those off flawlessly every time. lol. But from what I can tell from their latest releases that Sho is stepping away a bit from all the grunting and screeching and focusing a lot more on actual singing so maybe he's already aware he's fucking his voice up so is trying to calm it down a bit.
+ On the topic of him being a Kyo clone, I don't really agree that he's a clone at all. Only thing that's really similar is he goes for the same kind of range, mixing up the gutturals, screams and clean singing, but that could be said for a lot of V Kei vocalists surely? Doesn't make them a clone of Kyo for using different vocal styles, I welcome it in fact, a vocalist who doesn't have any variation can be pretty monotonous and tiresome to listen to.

Joel got a reaction from Seimeisen in DIR EN GREY announces new Blu-ray/DVD, single, JP, US and EU tour
Honestly it just sounds like a bunch of the Insulated World tracks mixed together, its not too appealing but if the track is gonna be 10 minutes I cant really judge from 2 minutes of listening. I just hope they don't keep trying to get the Vinushka or Macabre feel again, Zetsuentai was the worse track on the album lol

Joel reacted to GreatNorthernVK in DIMLIM
Dimlim has generated some buzz from a selection of western React Youtubers reviewing their singles. So it wouldn’t be unheard of to try and get a showcase or two either in Europe or the US.
It would be great if Japanese bands actually did multi-band tours to sweeten the deal for casuals on the fence. This whole business of one-man tours with only a 70 minute set list is only for die-hards, and people who just happen to be in the same city with nothing better to do.
But realistically, most Asia-obsessed people have moved on to K-pop, and the marginal base of casuals who would attend a multi-band event (but not a one-man) is probably not enough to justify the travel costs of additional bands. It could have worked in 2007-2009, but the hype fizzled out when bands couldn’t tour as far and wide as the fanbase wanted.
