This is an award worthy stupid VK band name. Good to know Michi is still out there doing things though.

I've actually been quite a fan of his covers over the years and discovered some jpop gems I would have otherwise never have known about. This album could be interesting if he goes for older classics rather than something recent.

His cover of Inoue Yosui's Senaka made 45fun on the Emily EP is syrupy goodness that was a complete 180° turn to hear compared to what he was just doing months earlier when SADS paused the first time around.

Seriously though 100% I want they to go as soft as possible. No screaming, no skank beats, no downtuned riffage, no exaggerated kyopera. Just pretty, wholesome music like "Higeki wa..." or "Namamekashiki...". The heavy stuff wore out its welcome.

Yo-ka was never owner of Ains. Yukika has always been, he was vocalist in Etcetra, Clutch, Buddy among other bands. He was also founder of the labels: A heretic sound music, Galaxy and V-eyes records, as well as all sub-labels to these labels (madwink, yamikakumei etc). 
 
It's very likely that he is the owner of the new Diaura label as well, simply to clean his name (ains has a bad reputation). Bangya's on tanuki also speculate that diaura's new label is a sub-label to Forum (I think Misa owns this?), but even if that is the case, it's very likely that Yukika has control over the sub-label. Time will tell!

Aw that was a nice stream. Tbh humanization of idols is important lol and I mean, his voice isn't anything special at all as a vocalist, but he looks like he's having fun. 

At least these are more artsy, and Wataru does have a cool ass with those really beautiful tattoos.

22 years ago, on January 24, 1997, DIR EN GREY played their first ever show at Nagano J.
Kyo, Kaoru, Die and Shinya arrived the day before and met Toshiya in a parking lot.
They stayed at Toshiya's parents' house over night and on the next day, they booked two hours in a studio to rehearse.
In the evening, there was an event and the future members of DIR EN GREY performed on stage together for the first time.
Since they had not thought of a band name, they called themselves DEATHMASK and played around four Kuroyume cover songs.
Toshiya also performed with D+L as their support guitarist on that evening.
So since it's already the 24th in Japan, today marks 22 years since the true beginning of DIR EN GREY! 😊

So back in the days it was rumored that Totto of Devil Kitty was kicked out of the band because he raped a girl. As far as I remember this was never confirmed by anyone, but the rape allegations was always nearby whenever Devil Kitty was discussed.
 
Recently I found Yuuga's original post on the matter, which was posted on Devil Kitty's official bbs, and I decided to translate the message. There's probably not a lot to discuss here (but if you'd like to; feel free to do so), I post this only because I've never seen an actual translation of the original post by Yuuga, and eventually the japanese post may disappear.

I think Gosan is actually THE example of what someone on MH called a derivation of the "host scene", like some kind of urban night entertainment. It described perfectly what I felt after watching some Gosan's live clips: I've got the impression of a watching a bunch of cool guys throwing out a party for bangya at a night club, I mean, for people with "geeky tastes" like anime, brutal metal riffs and suicidal lyrics... but still a night club vibe. Thus said, I don't think I can still consider this "visual kei" any longer... It's actually another kind of stuff...

I am not surprised at the victim blaming. This is really sad reality in Japan. They also do the same to people who struggle with depression. Very frowned upon. They'd take them as an outcast or as if they are people with dangerous disease.
I guess it is back again to Japanese's  way of life and the social caste stuffs. There were these saying in Japanese that said, "出る釘は打たれる" (nails that sticks out will be hammered down) , and でるくいがうたれる (don't rock the boat), which both are pretty much have the same intention, and that is what happen here.

to anyone wondering if it's worth reading, the attached management statement is fucked up on several layers and everything about this incident and the performers treatment is infuriating

Good shit and stoked for future releases. Genuinely old school sound unlike most of these bands just playing nu-metal and deg songs in frilly clothes and hair. 
 
I think improvements could be made with some production choices/limitations and with Karma's performance, but considering that it's a band of nobodies with most likely zero budget in the dog eat dog host world of vk in 2019, it's fucking great and not for poseurs

I'm not familiar with the japanese sources on her situation, but this so far is the tea, yes.

I wasn't on the Karma Stan Train so I came into listening to these guys with more or less an unbiased mind (I listened to my share of AvelCain back in the day but they didn't wow me, they were not bad but instantly forgettable for me). So yeah, for some reason it's taking me a bit of effort to get used to the vocals in this context but this is pretty cool shit.
 
I love the old-schoolish sound, almost like hearing some unreleased B-sides from "feminism"-era Kuroyume. I still have to listen to their mini album more to see where I stand, but for now I'm considerably enjoying it! Great start!

the release is surprisingly good. i still don't like phalaenopsis, and the first half of the album seems so-so to me, but the latter half is very nice. we vkei fans rarely get that kind of music nowadays so whoever composed this made a smart move.
special thanks for intro and outro, for me piano is always a win. also mother is so good, it's my favorite from the album♥
