  1. i gave it a go! btw, for you and anyone else who browses this section and might need to know, there's a site that can extract lyrics from some of these sites with text in a flash container so it can't be copy pasted. rocklyric isn't supported, but utamap and others are, if you ever need it: https://franklai-lyric-get.appspot.com/

    torn telegram

    music/lyrics: ao sakurai

—so quiet my ears won't stop ringing.
    time for silent prayer.
tears must live behind the words i'm tired of hearing.—

    there's a stranger i know very well.
a child squats and looks at him.

"but who might this person be? but who might this person be?"
    —i told you!

the nostalgic cruelty that quietly torments me

    when happy memories start overflowing.
    the transience attached to life,
is the present a prophetic dream i had one day?

"but who might this person be? but who might this person be?"

    —my past self is watching.
smiling, i bit through my mouth and answered.

in the warm darkness stained with the light stippled through tree leaves,
the deep red world acknowledges all.
the lifeless telegram on the table,
    still ripped, screams for me!

    "i want to go home!"

  2. i looked up pieces and parts on twitter until i had the whole song basically
edit: figured out the missing line!

  3. I don't really know much about this group but I enjoyed the song and I thought the lyrics were interesting.

    --

ah, i'm no one at all. i have no room at all to doubt that,
i don't feel like my cells are working.

ah, everyone, why are you laughing? i was just staring at what can't be seen.
don't go out of your way to look at me with narrowed eyes.

prejudice is born of ignorance, i was raised by hindrances,
this soul of mine left me like cigarette smoke climbing upwards.

ah, what have i been protecting in the first place? here so long that the seedlings have coiled around my feet.

like a cattle whose life has been toyed with, my powerlessness just nourishes me.
so death, and yet also life:
neither one really appeals to me.
such an unaccommodating world has no place for me to go.

  5. some of the member comments seem very salty, reminiscent of Mix Speaker’s Inc. disbandment comments, drama ensuing on tanuki

    salty samplings:

    Quote

    Bass JR:

    "[...]
Following last year's hiatus, this year too ends incomplete.
Leaving this result behind, I don't fully grasp the regret and sadness.
    What was it?

It was the result of talking through things many times, but suddenly we had a request for withdrawal [from the band] with a set date.
Even though this year we'd done tons of scheduling, talked with the label, got in touch with many bands, and made a plan to make Otome Kokka pop off.
But it all went away in an instant.

A band isn't something you can run by yourself. It's something where you need to borrow the strength of all kinds of people, and make requests of all kinds of people. But there was someone who couldn't agree with that notion.

This will be my last band. Everything about it was incomplete. [...]

    Quote

"AL" Arumi: (note: I don't know what the fuck this guy does but he doesn't play an instrument anymore and he used to be their drummer so explain that one)

[...] Everything was something that was possible because we were this group of 6, and it was such a wonder to me. So I can't fully accept Orochi's decision to put his efforts into something else with any kind of emotion, and I'm just feeling like I don't get it. "

    Quote

    Guitar Haru:
[...] We went on hiatus for a bit and had bumps but I found myself in love with Otome Kokka and thinking I could do this band for the rest of my life.

But none of that will come true with this announcement.

When we last went on hiatus and we couldn't see through the Citizen's Holiday (Citizens = Otome Kokka fans, I assume this is an anniversary live or sthng), I was regretful, but I was thinking when we came back we could continue what we didn't do last year. But alas.

One the day of the Citizen's Holiday, which we decided last year, the schedule of the other band of the member leaving overlapped, and he never explained himself. So honestly I still don't know what I think.

Well, I've experienced having two bands at once so I get it, schedule management is tough, but choosing that path and joining Otome Kokka because you wanted to and then letting things ends like this. It's just sad.

When I think that this will be my last band I just feel sadness and frustration and other unbearable feelings. [...]

    choice comments from tanuki

    Spoiler

878: [...] The other members don't have licenses so Orochi drives, right? I'd quit too

937: Alumi should stop bashing Orochi in the official comment and start bashing a drumkit

950: How you gonna attack Orochi when you got fired from drums because you sucked?

991: There's still five of you even without Orochi lul

1000: Even "air bands" do it while carrying an instrument ffs

1187: All this is a band that was doomed finally meeting their doom

  6. can't fathom of any drama less interesting to me than ex-loop ash, but given that they toured/worked together i assume it's something similar, but Sana has fallen so far out of relevancy for tanuki that you'd likely have better luck with european sources. i'm not sure on the details but Too Wild headed by Gloria, the "label" that is/was in charge of the fanclub for Satsuki in Europe was doing shit like milking Sana fans (specifically they had to join the Satsuki fanclub to hear Sana's new song and participate in the Sana fanmeet)... and that's literally the only mention of Sana outside of MASK on tanuki

  7. mitsu money -- he had a huge bankroll in girls paying him during 2011-2012 (before the shit hit the fan basically, presumably during RES too) & as to why, presumably feeding his narcissism and a gaijin complex. a lot of free-will adjacent bands were the ones trying to make moves abroad (RIP clash against commercialism) so that might have something to do with it as well

  8. here goes xoxo

    Spoiler

    SATSUKI DRAMA

    ANCIENT DRAMA (RES ERA)

-Satsuki is a prime instigator in the Yuuga/Ao drama. After former Rentrer en Soi guitarist Ao impregnates Devil Kitty Yuuga’s little sister, Satsuki begins to verbally abuse Ao and demands that he have the girl abort the child. Yuuga goes apeshit and publicly blasts the members of Rentrer en Soi on his blog. Satsuki is forced to dogeza (apologize while prostrating) on stage to Yuuga and Ao. Allegedly spotting crying about it afterward.

-Satsuki is a Kyo hanger-on and frequently brought up in conjunction with Kyo’s drinking party where there is rumored to be sexual/physical abuse of girls and one particular roadie (later known as Byou) by the attendees (Kyo, Tatsurou, Daisuke, Wataru, Satsuki, others). The legendary status of this party makes its veracity suspect, but this particular group of bandmen has a negative reputation overall and he is associated with them. Later Airi divulges that he now despises Dir en grey and openly talked shit about them at Daisuke’s memorial.

    SOLO DRAMA (2011-2013)

Satsuki is caught up in various problems with gya. This is where things all go horribly wrong for him.

-Airi, a famed Satsuki girlfriend?/mitsu. There is enough Airi drama to sink a battleship….

    i. Airi posts pictures of gifts Satsuki has given her, which turn out to be gifts originally meant for him from fans. She posts pictures of him and other tsunagari hanging out, brags about him giving her guest passes, and generally provokes all his fans. Eventually their relationship sours, and she posts purikura where you can see their matching tattoos and Satsuki’s nipples.

ii. Satsuki coerces her into an abortion, she demands some sort of compensation. He goes to her house to apologize but ends up asking her mom for money for the ride back home. Later threaten to post pictures of Airi and him having sex. Writes Airi a poem and sends her a 500 y set of earrings as his compensation.

iii. When Airi leaks the purikura, he cries about it to the members of ReS despite it being well-known that he has openly talked shit about them. Yuuga puts him on blast again because why not.

-Satsuki becomes involved with a Finnish fan named Henrietta (who was under 18 for part of their involvement), changes the date of a show so he can take her on a Christmas date after he pays for her trip to Japan, starts waxing poetic about Finland in lyrics and interviews because he’s so in love with her. A German fan leaks a chat where she admits it, setting off all the Japanese fans. Henrietta denies things but later turns on Satsuki and writes extensively about him in English.

-Ameblo messages of Satsuki asking for wire transfers are leaked around the same time the information about Airi is leaked, along with pictures of him sleeping, extensive conversations between him and a tsunagari, etc. Basically, poor tsunagari management leads to a lot of them turning on him.

-Rumors of Satsuki being a general ass spring up at this time – he has nothing nice to say about fans who do anything less than mitsu for him, mocks Japanese fans who come to his performances abroad, bitches about Io and other fans specifically, and the Yuuga/Ao incident is brought up again.

-Io is a player in the Team STK drama and the leader of Team STK, arguably the last core group of Satsuki fans that ever were. She protects Henrietta until she finds out Henrietta was involved with him, and frequently gets into scrapes with Airi

-All of this drama leads to him getting cut from Kisaki Project (yikes)

    TEAM STK DRAMA

2008 – Rentrer en Soi disbands
Our main player Io and Satsuki have had a vague mitsu relationship until now, she buys him gifts and clothing (some featured in PVs) but notes that his requests are getting more and more expansive. Satsuki tells Io that he’s going to go solo and since he’s her fan, she’s dumb for crying about the disbandment since she can just see him anyway. Requests an incredibly Chrome Hearts chain from her, insists even when she tells him she can’t afford it.

2011 – Support bassist Rin disappears after being demoted to staff. Allegedly ran away due to Satsuki pressuring him for money.

2012 Summer/Fall – A man named Hiyoko becomes the goods table staff. Becomes a major player who is later revealed to have a rap sheet when Io reports him to the police. Starts contact with the jouren group.

2012 December – Hiyoko calls a meeting with Io and other fans and demands they buy Satsuki a Mac.
Later that month, Hiyoko starts ramping up pressure to buy cheki and demands that Io/Ena jouren buy the film for the cheki (that they’re expected to buy later). Hiyoko threatens to grab them by the hair.

2013 January/February – Hiyoko begins to repeatedly call/text and threaten the jouren, demanding money for them including Satsuki’s travel expenses. When they try to talk to Satsuki about it, Hiyoko demands to know what they told him. Hiyoko and Satsuki coerce Ena jouren to karaoke, cornering her in the room for hours while they bitch and make financial demands. She keeps this a secret.

2013 February-April – Hiyoko starts to openly insult fans and Satsuki’s support members on twitter, then disappears from his job at the goods table.

2013 April – Over the course of 52 hours, Io and Ena jouren are attacked over and over on tanuki by someone who has access to the letters written to Satsuki by Io. Io retaliates by disclosing the information above.

2013 May 12-14 – Io attempts to confront Satsuki about this at an instore, he claims not to know Hiyoko. Ena jouren divulges the karaoke incident to the other jouren and they decide to go in.

2013 May 22 – The jouren, with the cooperation of other bands’ jouren and other attendees, enact a “Ten Commandments” on Satsuki – essentially, leaving the center segment of the audience floor empty in front of Satsuki (the name refers to Moses parting the Red Sea) and facing away from the center as part of their boycott. No one acknowledges Satsuki, calling only for the support members. The attendees stand stock still, only during furi that was created by them that Satsuki had called “embarrassing” earlier.  After the show, Io and others pursue him for answers, but he runs away. (They attempt to chase him down the following year but he runs away again.)

    MISC

-At some point during this drama, Takumi erases all acknowledgment of Satsuki’s existence from his blog at the time. Mika also conspicuously avoids talking about him when sukekiyo starts up, although he does mention the other ex members of ReS. Satsuki is suspected of trolling the sukekiyo threads due to this rivalry.

-Inventor of the “air instore”, an instore which is on the schedule but not actually held due to lack of attendees. Ena jouren wrote that instores attendees outside of Team STK ranged from 3-13 people. Attendees at oneman shows (including Team STK and friends) were between 17-25 people.

-Known to send himself flower stands at his own shows

-Known for being weirdly obsessed with TENGA and jacking off inside of a Denny’s (no really)

  9. btw the server outage initially sparked a bunch of rumors that someone had gotten arrested for libel or something from the wota/youtube side of tanuki (which a lot of gya/band tanuki doesn't know exists and vice versa). of course the minute it was back there was a thread for exposing people who expressed joy about its demise on twitter lmao

  10. between the "undead souls" tour and the "XIII" album, i almost had to wonder if they were picking a fight with ex Sadie members after THE THIRTEEN stole "URGE" from hazuki
(i'm kidding, all of these concepts are obvious anyway.)

i'm going to buy the premium version but i have to say, lynch. instrumentals are something i just don't see a need for... very hype for interview booklet & "documentary" vid though

  11. I have an alternative translation if you're interested c:

    SORROW

    dusk comes, stained in twilight*
    quietly setting aside my sadness

i believed we'd keep on walking,
this permanence lighting a flame in our hearts
but the sound of it all crumbling echoes nearby
i'm alone and i've lost everything

what i remember are those dream-like days,
    the irreplaceable meetings and joys

    glistening

the moon on the surface of the too-beautiful amber sea
i covered it up with my hands, unable as they were to protect a thing
the stars on the surface of the too-beautiful vermilion** sky
when i breathe and abandon my senses to this moment

if all things come to an end
then will even this sea dry up?

i can't recall those important words
    i can't touch that closed-off dream
all that's certain are the days we cried together
and the wishes and promises i can't forget

    glistening

    dusk comes, stained in twilight
    quietly setting aside my sadness

i made you sad, didn't it?
i won't ever let go again
so i want you to believe me: someday,
our endless future will be here once again

    glistening

the moon on the surface of the too-beautiful amber sea
i covered it up with my hands, unable as they were to protect a thing
the stars on the surface of the too-beautiful vermilion sky
when i breathe and abandon my senses to this moment

    the moon on this sea
    i breathe in this moment

    the stars on this sea
    i'm walking towards that future

i feel like we can keep on walking,
this permanence lighting a flame in our hearts

    --

*this particular word for twilight also means melancholia/nostalgia
**the actual color is something called "rose madder/madder" but the average English speaker will not recognize this so i chose vermilion

  12. @emmnyyou're barking up the right tree, it's just a convenient cover. i didn't want to get too far into the allegations/stuff that can't actually be proven in the main post. but w/ the initial non-banning of #2 and #3 despite those two having photo proof of being up for resale and the band being given tanumail screenshots, the prevailing theory is that DAYDALA tsunagari/shikiri (who may have actually been holding 2 & 3) was trying to push out/frame S. S isn't even a DAYDALA gya so perhaps they were worried they were going to have negotiation probs with her, or just pissed they couldn't wrestle #1 for their own band's shusai event and wanted to punish whoever did lmfao.

  13. The legality of ticket reselling in Japan is up for debate after Ticket Camp (formerly the biggest ticket resale marketplace) shut down. I assume they were pressured by Johnny's because they got in legal trouble for some non-ticket related issue, but in the articles I read it mentioned the Kobe district court ruled that buying tickets for the sole purpose of resale is considered an act of fraud. Ticket Camp caused a huge backlash so it reflects poorly on large-scale bands who don't deal with resellers... but for these minor bands I think reselling everything with a number <10 is pretty much the culture of vk, lmao.

  14. Slated to host a show on 4/18 at Ikebukuro EDGE (w/ 万鬼隊 / type:『seeD』/ MIDGARD / 爆烈ストーム!! & others), DAYDALA announced on March 27th that they would render ticket #1 invalid due to reselling for profit.

This is not altogether unheard of -- tickets that have been resold have been banned from entry, but it's usually for bigger bands.
However, it seems the holder of #1 -- we'll call her S -- was a little confused by this choice.
She tweeted that she had definitely been the original purchaser of the ticket through legitimate means, and eventually posted the DMs exchanged between her and the official DAYDALA account. She was even able to provide a receipt of the purchase (these receipts do not contain the ticket number),  but they opted to offer her only a refund.

    675x1200x47dd54f872347ef48b71ae9.jpg675x1200xbbde8b1e2fab39f74658932.jpg

When S pressed them to provide proof that #1 was in fact resold, they posted screenshots from tanuki (this is historical -- it is an open secret that bands and management browse the board, but an official account posting screenshots of 1) a selling post and 2) a tanumail conversation is unheard of).

The listing originally posted on tanuki claims to have tickets #1-3. The chances of this poster being S are already fairly low as her receipt shows the price of one ticket. The odds of picking up #1 and #2-3 are stacked very high against her unless she juggles multiple SMS-verified accounts and somehow obtained #1 and #2-3, or is selling on behalf of a friend who was coincidentally able to purchase #2-3. More importantly though, the proof photo doesn't show #1 at all. Additionally, the source of the tanumail screenshot is also up for debate -- unless the band was trying to purchase the resold tickets themselves (something that has been done before, but generally by larger bands b/c I don't think DAYDALA could have afforded even the original 15,000y asking price), it seems they received it as a "tip" from someone else.

This really opened the floodgates -- why weren't #2 and #3 banned as well if this was the source? Why was #1 banned despite being the only one without solid evidence?

Their next step was to ban all of #1-3 but provide refunds upon further discussion with S. By this point tanuki was in an absolute frothing rage. People posting "for sale" posts for numbers 4-100 in a joking attempt to get them invalidated descended as DAYDALA thread after DAYDALA thread was created.

    Spoiler

Member Haku attempted various forms of damage control on his individual twitter, but the horde was angry and wanted justice for S.
Finally, they rescinded their invalidation for all three tickets and gave a heartfelt apology.

    Spoiler

Masato of meta-kei/tanuki-kei/meme-kei band kaitou sentai lined up to take a shot at DAYDALA for their slip-up:
"I was tired and sleeping forever. Good morning.
I had a dream that the #1 ticket I worked so hard to get was suddenly rendered invalid.
    Hope it doesn't come true..."

    Spoiler

  15. lmao i solemnly swear i'll write out the extended Satsuki drama in the rumors section or something for y'all after my exams next week, but the very very short story is that he was accused of extorting and threatening the 5 fans he had in Japan post-RES until they turned on him. he has by far the worst reputation of any bandman except maybe the dude from Egoist... legendary kusomen
