ah.. dammit, I thought I edited everything in Ray. lol. missed a few.

fixed it, thanks for the notice.

There's also a mild typo in his response to his musical background:

    Quote

Ray: I started playing guitar when I was 17 years old and my first life was when I was 18 or 19 years. When I was 19 years old I joined a band, after my last band broke up I formed LIBRAVEL.

I think you mean to say "live" or it sounds like Ray has resurrected and is living his second life.

  3. I never implied that it was bad. It's just very JILUKA to me. And I also own everything they've released (once Japan Post will deliver their DVD to me ...) and my comment about them being the new lynch. wasn't meant to be negative. lynch. is a very consistent band that knows their sound, but I generally like every release they have. It was meant to be a humorous nod to consistency. God forbid.

  4. Takeru leaves the band, but due to some interestingly difficult situations:

He is a medical student in Tokyo and was severely punished by the university for being in the band. He was conflicted and had to make a decision to leave the university to pursue the band full-time, but ultimately decided to quit and concentrate on his medical studies at university. His mother died at the early age of 50 and a few days before his mother passed, he pledged he would graduate from medical school and pass the national medical exam. He feels he can't betray his promise to his mother and had been struggling with managing his school load and band activities over the last few months. He apologizes for his selfish actions while contemplating his decision and temporarily cutting ties with the band and thus has decided to leave the band.

I wasn't expecting them to use a mellow track to promote the new album, but that makes me even more excited for the bangers we'll be getting next month

It makes sense considering what Kagami's been posting frequently on twitter and YouTube. He's been doing more softer stuff lately, acoustic covers and all. I think this was one of his "work in progress" videos at one point. The "it's easy to live" part sounds familiar.

Drums sounds pretty bad and so does the mixing of the vocals. Overall I'm not loving this track

The drums were the very first thing I noticed. It's clearly programed and they're not even trying to hide it ... that snare is gross. The whole thing sounds like a demo.

  7. Masato keeps posting that he's searching out members to recruit, joking or not (like he said he went to the Pokemon Cafe looking for members). The other bandmen  were supposed to play together at their final live on 08/27, but have backed out and now it's just Masato. Their website has also been updated with the support members and even a new "look." This is all so weird ...

  8. The single has started shipping as of yesterday and they announced that although it initially sold out, more will be pressed (probably because they also teased that foreign fans would be able to order it). I also thought that when they initially announced the single, they said it would be a print-to-order single, so, who knows.

But as I mentioned before, most small bands are not focusing on their overseas fans at all. If they can't even sell out small venues in Tokyo yet, they have to focus on their sales in Japan first. Selling "rare/hard to get" stuff can help then.

The point is that many overseas fans don't really wanna understand this.

I've been in the same position for many years myself (not being in Japan), so it's not like I don't know how it feels. Yet from a realistic point of view, not so strange/surprising that bands do this imo.

Also of course everything would be easier without a middle man. But if you have to choose between getting the item through a middle man or not getting the item at all, is a choice.

To complain every time any band has a live limited release gets a bit annoying, because those complaining are the ones never contacting a middle man offering help while the silent ones do.

This. Every part of this. You said it well without being rude or snarky and made it logical. More people need to understand everything you've said and also that not every VK band has an interest in expanding outside of their country. Knowing that your band has more fans is nice, but realistically, they're not majorly influenced by foreign fan's online revenue.

1st sample not impressed cuz this is not my type of music and also Rays voice somehow doesn't sound nearly as good as in DEVILOOF original songs imo, however the sample for Devil's Calling... HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!!!!!!!! 8D

Can't wait to receive my copy.

Devil's Calling sounds more on-theme for them, albeit a bit repetitive. Regardless, I'm not mad I pre-ordered it.
