iTunes really wont accept the only two Rides in ReVellion songs I ever cared for lol. The album appears empty on the device (like it knows they're there) or else just tracks 3 and 4 are missing. Theres nothing wrong with the files.
The software claims they're on the device (not greyed out like iTunes just shitting the bed like normal).
It's an iPod touch, I still want to find a solution somehow before it decides to do this to something I REALLY wanna have on me.

i don't think any conversion software is gonna make a meaningful differnce - but somtimes if you go back & forth w/o syncing in between, your ipod will recognize the new cleaned up file as the same as the original, & not bother syncing. you could try renaming the album artist w/ the fixed songs to something like "Rides in ReVellionA" to trigger an update, sync, and then put the name back to normal

hey! easiest solution i've found is using itunes, convert to a lossless format (.wav, .m4a), and then back to your desired filetype. make sure to delete the original (.mp3?) once you've made the lossless vers, then delete the lossless once you've got it back to your preferred filetype.
ofc you could also just make everything .m4a - the relevant thing is (afaik) that particular file probably lost some bits computer codecs can still make out but the ipod, not being as robust, can't particularly. but important thing is just transcode at least, discarding the original file, & you should be good

So recently I’ve been asked by a friend of mine to start a band with him and I’ve agreed to be the vocalist!
Anyone here have any tips on looking after my voice? There’s already a bit of damage to my vocal chords, and I also need to reduce the amount I smoke/quit (as much as I don’t want to quit 😂) I do clean vocals btw if that helps

What's with that style of production Yayoi (La'miss Fairy) did where both guitars would be crammed onto the right channel in certain parts of the song?
Why the fuck did Yayoi think it was a good idea? It literally just makes the song harder to listen with headphones because I can't fucking make out wtf the guitars are playing because one ear is trying to process both while the guitars and the other only hears fucking drums and bass.
Or in the case of Ogre by Cuartet, two guitars are crammed into the right channel while the left channel just has a really quiet version of the actual left guitar. But only during the riff. The rest of the song is normal I think

i got this a few times on some tracks & in most cases it was a strange shitty rip
like 最後の嘘 by alsdead - beautiful song imho from 2015 but i got used to hearing ALL guitars hard panned right; some other instruments + vocals hard panned left.
listened to it like that for 4+ years and then a few months ago someone uploaded a FLAC here - totally reasonable normal easy to listen to mastering on that one.
no idea how it happened tho but maybe phasing issues if someone's tried to do an analog rip.

idk how popular of an opinion this is but i think Inferiority Complex is by far their best, which is real weird for me to say cuz i'm not really into metalcore and this album is very much lots of that
but the energy is 10/10 on that record and the drums have so much life in them. they're mastered real loose and imho makes the drums every album after sound overprocessed / clicky. also i feel like this is the album where hazuki really dialed in how he wanted the double tracking his vocals to sound.
I Believe in Me feels like the rough draft of this album & Exodus like its B-sides.
i guess it's a real typical genre and nothing terribly innovative but if you want to hear the guys give a great performance on an album where they knew exactly what they were going for it definitely delivers.
but if you hear the first track & don't like it i don't think any of the rest would be different enough to change your mind.

pretty sure that's got something to do w/ rock in most of the west not doing anything interesting or culturally relevant since maybe the 90s & hip-hop scenes 100% picking up the creative/artistic slack

Does anyone know if there really are any differences between the original and the new versions of songs Nightmare released in these three best albums?

i could be wrong but i think the whole first disc on clowns was re-recorded, and those four were additionally re-arranged. There's a noticable lot of guitar parts that just weren't in earlier versions of the tracks, unless they were recorded originally & never used. + this is just IMO but Yomi's voice here really doesn't sound like it did in '01-'06.
iirc the intro part to Believe on the second disc is also slightly different, Yomi sings different notes on Varuna, & there's other small changes like that which make it sound like the second disc's new recordings too.
But the last 4 tracks are afaik straight rips of their early release, and so is every track but Star Spangled Breaker off the other two best-ofs.

like, i totally feel u on this and the exact same thing has happened to me fairly often but afaik amazon.jp & all other overseas shippers are responsible only for getting the package to your country; after that there's not much they can do & any shipper you have is gonna end up using the same domestic delivery to get the package to you.
So yeah sounds like your delivery guy was kinda lazy & i've def had quite a few act like that but to the best of my knowledge, whether you use amazon or closetchild or yesasia or w/e else, they're still gonna end up relying on the same domestic couriers.
One thing i've done is literally just signed a paper w/ a note that said 'hey i'm not around just drop the package down here, it's just CDs no one's gonna take it, take a picture of this note if u need proof' and taped that to my door and some delivery guys are cool w/ that.

Is lynch. actually a lousy band or Inferiority Complex is just a bad album?
I heard it like three times and the best way to describe it is forgettable. Should I give them another try with a better album?-
if you didn't like inferiority complex you probably won't notice a huge difference in their post-2012 albums....
greedy dead souls is my fav but The Avoided Sun has some pretty nice parts too. And then albums 3 & 4 are kinda between the first two and their later albums in terms of sound imho.

Anyone have examples of bands that were way better in their later discography?? I feel like all of my favorite music is from the first half of an artist's career, even outside of VK.
There are so many bands/artists that I even feel like I need to explicitly mention that I only like their old stuff in conversation, because they've gone from really great to really not great imo. Thoughts?

mucc for sure for me, i like their older stuff but right around 2010 they got hella more interesting imho.
Boris as well, for a non-vk answer; Flood and Feedbacker are masterpieces but aside from those i think their songwriting's just gone up from Pink on.not sure how popular either of those opinions are tho.
