Realizing that nothing is ever random has definitely helped change my perspective, and allowed me to see the significance in a lot of things that I would have otherwise overlooked. It's also helped to spur along my gratitude and opened my eyes to the magic inherent in every day life.
  2. If there's something you want to do or accomplish in this world - do it. Even if you have every reason in the world to doubt yourself. Do it anyways. You may not even think you're worthy of accomplishing anything, but I guarantee you that you are. No matter what you've done or haven't done in your life. Don't condemn yourself. Never count yourself out. Tell those negative and self-defeating thoughts, "NOT TODAY, BITCH!!!!". Yall got this. Love yall~!

  3. New song/MV from TK: Whoever the female singer is on this, she should have sung more cuz her voice is nice and blends surprisingly well with TK! Nice song tho overall.

    Been playing Soul Calibur 6 on and off, and I love it. Always been a huge fan of the game, though I'm a bit disappointed at how slowly they've been adding new content to the game. Anyways, here are come characters I created. Character creation is always one of the coolest aspects of the game for me;
  6. I need motivation to listen to new music! Who wants to make a pact with me to make an End-of-the-Year list this year? I haven't made one since 2016:

I'm seemingly incapable of holding grudges....and It can honestly be pretty bittersweet sometimes....everyone who's ever fucked me over, unjustly cut me off, or just antagonized me for whatever reason - I still have love for these people. Every one of them. The 'sweet' part is knowing I'm better off for not having these people in my life. The 'bitter' part is actually having genuinely enjoyed, appreciated, and valued these people....and if it's true that the way ppl treat others is a reflection of how they feel about themselves...then it's also bitter knowing that these individuals could not see their own worth.

oh wow, that's nice! Yeah I was surprised cuz I always took you for a strict VK fan, but It's always exciting to see ppl getting into one of my favorite bands. What all have you heard from Ling so far? :)

I listen to a fair amount of JPop too, but this forum is not really the place to discuss 30 y/o female idols lmao

I heard their first EPs and i'mperfect (my absolute favorite, never gets old), and their newer stuff. I had a lot of their disco on my old computer and lost all of it when it died so I need to look for the rest and catch up on half of their discography 😝

Dooope! I feel ya. I'm more into Jpop and other areas of J-music than I am VK (i'm pretty casual about it), but we do have threads here for Jpop and other areas of J-music as well. You'd be surprised how expansive the music taste of our userbase is!

I'mperfect is my favorite ling album too! Their newer stuff has been hit or miss for me, but even some of their weaker songs tend to grow on me over time. How do you feel about TK's solo music?

Voting records are public info in your states @CAT5 & @YuyoDrift, going off this list:

http://www.ncsl.org/research/elections-and-campaigns/access-to-and-use-of-voter-registration-lists.aspx. Though I feel like that's more relevant to the flurry of snail mail you'll get during election season (since for many states it's per-request.) I actually got a letter in the mail in 2018 stating my "lackluster" voting frequency (even though I've only missed one primary) and that of my neighbors of similar political affiliation.

What I'm guessing happened is that Facebook has access to your phone's geolocation data and the locations of voting centers. Like how Google asks me for restaurant reviews after I leave, Facebook probably does the same w/ your "voting/registration status".

    3. CAT5

      CAT5

Yeah, that was just facebook trying to get me to register to vote. But I don't vote. This wicked-ass country can kiss my black cheeeeeeekz.

You're not wrong, but I do think that there's something to be said about Kpop being "different" and "special", but the difference doesn't lie in the music, it lies in the culture. The reason that VK fans can so easily transition to Kpop is that the fan cultures surrounding them are so very similar, despite the music being so different. On the inverse - take "Black" American pop music for example: Musically, "Black" American pop/r&b/rap is like the mother of Kpop, as it directly inspires Kpop and sets the trends and standards for a lot of Kpop, yet you don't see a gang of Kpop fans praising too many "black" artists. Now the music from these two scenes are VERY similar, so you'd think that Kpop fans would also be naturally interested in both (and to be fair, some are, but i don't see this to be the case in general). But the cultures surrounding both scenes are so different that you don't really see a lot of cross pollination between the fanbases, despite the music being so similar. So I do think that kpop fans genuinely enjoy the music, it's just that the music comes secondary to the culture. I think it's the culture that attracts most ppl first, and then the music is something people actually find enjoyable after. But not often the other way around. Now obviously there are ppl who are open-minded enough not to give a fuck about the cultures and will listen to anything that they like, but the impact of culture can actually be pretty profound, because culture often gives a context in which to perceive the music. And you'd be surprised how much context can influence one's taste. I've experienced this personally many times. It was like this for me when I got into J-rock. I grew up in "black" culture where rock music was mostly considered a "white" thing, and so we didn't fuck with it like that. I didn't really listen to rock music until after I got into J-rock. Because J-rock offered a different cultural path to rock music than the stereotypical American White culture that I associated it with at the time. But after developing a true affinity for rock, I was able to go back and appreciate the rock music that I previously avoided due to cultural boundaries/ignorance. So yeah, that's my thoughts on that. Culture affects our perception of things more than we realize. They say culture is to humans as water is to fish - so we can't always see what cultural perspective that we're operating from until after we've experienced other cultures, or until after we've swam in other waters, if you will. - But with that said, I personally think Kpop is a lot of fun. I don't listen to it or seek it out on my own, but whenever i'm exposed to it, it's always a joy. The visuals, the dances, the production - the general pomp of it all - it's all pretty exciting. So I see how ppl can enjoy it. For me, KPOP is like eating sweets tho. Like yeah, I enjoy them for sure, but too much and I'll get sick.

Artists like that exist, but they don't get nearly enough exposure. So-called African Americans are the most glaring example of a collectively dysfunctional people, and unfortunately, everyone is profitting and benefitting from our dysfunction but us. There are deeper reasons for this that I won't get into atm, but rest assured, everyone from the local beauty supply shop all the way up to Capitol Hill are reaping the spoils of pillaging a ruined people and further enabling their continued dysfunction. So it's no marvel that the artists most heavily promoted to this group of people are avatars of dysfunction themselves.

There has to be a special place in the lake of fire for "mothers" that voluntarily destroy their own families and go out of their way to keep the fathers from seeing their own children. My brother has been going through this shit for the last year and a half and this shit is just outright evil.
  22. CAT5

Race is a stupid-ass concept and ultimately a divisive game with no winners like politics and religion ....BUT, with that said. I fuck with this 100%.

Yeah basically. A lot of ppl are enraged about the jokes he's been making, and he's definitely pretty out there, but personally, I think he's both hilarious and clever in how he illuminates the ridiculousness of a lot of sensitive issues.
