    I've been hella sleeping on this band since I got into visual kei. I'm trying to change it, though. For a few years now, I've had some of their newer albums sitting on my hard drive, but never really listened to them. I've previewed them, it's why I downloaded them, but I just never made them a priority. And despite all of that, I just had to go on a download spree and get MORE. And now I have CATALOGUE 87-99 ('cause I'm not sure if I'll like their early sound) and every album released since 2000. So now I'm trying to think of how I want to go into this, because there is so much here.

     

    I previewed some tracks from albums since 13階は月光. I'm kinda digging what I hear. The only album I'm not so sure of is "memento mori;" I previewed songs off that album and it kinda gave "dad rock" vibes, which I'm not into.

     

    Of course I would download 11 albums and a 40+ song compilation from a band of which I've only heard three songs in full. Of course.

    ^ I would buy that. I don't even really like that mini and I would buy it!

     

    I come up with a lot of vinyl ideas in my head, but I never make mockups because they will probably never happen so why bother I have poor photoshop skills #graphicdesignismypassion

     

    But speaking of the GazettE, I did come up with a vinyl mockup for DIVISION:

               Side B, FRAGMENT [ARTERY] ~ black on white 　　　　　          Side A, FRAGMENT [VEIN] ~ white on black

     

    Single vinyl, limited edition tracklist, one side of the cover appears upside down so you see one cover, flip it over, and get another cover. There'd just be one sticker on each side of the shrink-wrap with the barcode, label logo, etc. so there's no obvious back cover.

     

    I am very impressed in my ability to get all those lyrics onto a single sheet and still leave room to eventually put the credits

     


    Random ideas I haven't visually conceptualised (yet?):

    Spoiler
    • DIM: 2xLP, gatefold (each panel has a different picture of the man trapped in an ice cube), ultra clear vinyl, no centre labels, all side/tracklist info laser etched, inner sleeves are transparent with printed lyrics
    • BEAUTIFUL DEFORMITY: 2xLP, LP1 on acid green, LP2 on hot pink
    • DEG - 鬼葬 (blue/silver swirl, + booklet maybe?)
    • VULGAR: gold/purple swirl, tri-fold cover
    • Withering to death.: based on first press artwork, box set, 2x red vinyl, 20 6x6" cards (4 stacks of 5; 14 lyric cards, 5 band member cards, 1 artwork/credits)
    • MUCC - 極彩: white with red green and blue splatters
    • 新痛絶: red/blue split, limited version cover but not holographic because that was lame
    • cali≠gari 14: limited cover on silver and gold swirl, regular cover on transparent sea blue with opaque white splatters
    • cali≠gari 13: gold with black splatter
    • cali≠gari 12: limited edition would be on cyan vinyl, regular edition would be on dark blue

    I might try making a mockup of one if I'm hopelessly bored in the future

    Monet didn't deserve to win. I felt she was doing well and deserved to be in the top four, but she did not deserve to be in the top two. She lost my vote after that pink """cat""" couture costume (looked more like a pig suit). I would have rather seen Monique lip-syncing with Trinity. Especially with that bullshit double-crowning. If it was Trinity vs. Monique, yeah, I would have had a difficult time deciding too, I would have said "fuck it, condragulations both of you" but, Monet? Really?

    I was really rooting for Naomi (I totally have a crush on out-of-drag-Naomi and hella wanna make out with him), but she still got critiqued in the deliberation when everyone else got "she's beautiful she's perfect," so I knew she would stay top four and not lip-sync.

     

    As for Season 11, nobody interests me so far. There's too many people. I loved the Miss Vanjie meme, but that's in the past now, that was a season 10 thing. Let's hope she doesn't try to dig it back up.

     

    Speaking of which, I never even finished season 10...

    (unless it was an all-winners season, except Booboo Zahara Bidet was already on AS3 and apparently Tyra is blacklisted from the franchise?)

    Available on Spotify in Japan, and probably soon for the rest of the world:

    It's not too Jazzy, but it is rather heavy. Dare I say, heavier than 脈拍? All in all, a solid album! My thoughts so far:

    1. 壊れたピアノ: it's that 'creepy' piano melody from the preview vid
    2. サイコ: the verse sounds like a heavier パノラマ, punky chorus, great breakdown in the middle, great fast MUCC heaviness
    3. アイリス: a bit slower, has a cool surf-y intro, but 'reggae' verses that I FUCKING LOATHE, everything else is good though 😒
    4. ヴァンパイア: It's kind of bland, just a typical piano ballad. One of the more jazzy songs, so i'll give it credit there
    5. In the shadows: not sure how I feel about the rapping here, but everything else is great, back to slow MUCC heaviness, ffo EMP
    6. 積想: And we've got another ballad. This one is beautiful, just fucking beautiful, this is where they bring out all the strings.
    7. 百合と翼: ZERO jazz here, but I love the main riff here, I can't think of much to say other than that it's a cool song
    8. カウントダウン: the chorus is utagoe garbage and the verses are generic mid 2000's fast MUCC. Why did this song have to be the longest?
    9. Living Dead: great piano melody, great "slow grand finale" feel to it

     

    If you love MUCC unconditionally, you will  L O V E  this album

    If 脈拍 was not heavy enough for you, I think you'll like this

    If you expect cali≠gari level avant-garde, wtf-ery experimentation, you will be disappointed

    I'm not much of a show goer, but whenever a band I like is in the bay area (not often), I always want to go... but something gets in the way...

     

    I've missed out on seeing the GazettE in April 2016 and The Number Twelve Looks Like You (w/ Arsonists Get All The Girls) in December 2018 because I was working and couldn't get the shifts covered. I also missed out on BORIS the last few times they were in SF because I had school; the shows would always be in the end of August, on a day that I had class, in the late afternoon.

     

    Last June, I kinda wanted to see ザアザア when I was in Osaka (I mainly just wanted to get a live-limited CD that was at the show). I think it was some tour with DADORAMA. I was in town and very close to the venue, but I just decided not to. Why? I was by myself and had no idea what to do, I must have had a lot of questions I wouldn't have been able to ask in Japanese, and I just felt the anxiety of it all, so I just thought, "uhhhhhh let's do something else today." 🤦🏻‍♂️

    The only song I've heard there is the 黒百合と影. I do recognise a few other band names though, just never got to listening to them.

    When the guy in my story stopped texting me, I got angry-sad about it, and whenever he'd come back, I'd think I'd have forgiven him, but then I'd get angry again, for the first year I had no idea how I felt about him as an individual, I totally flip-flopped. At the end of the year, I wanted to meet up with him and try to reconnect like you did, but then I saw a new guy in his Snapchat story, and it looked like they were being all cutesy and shit, which really bothered me. A week goes by, I stop kicking the air, delete him on social media, and declare hatred. Another year later, today, that hatred completely fizzles out into "I don't know her"

     

    Enough of my rant, yes it's okay to ask if he's seeing someone else. As for continuing a relationship with him, definitely do not pursue dating this guy any further. Just don't! If you think you can be platonic friends with him, not resent him for being out of touch, and most importantly, stomach the sight of him being serious with someone else, go for it. And if you ever have the opportunity to, tell him about your feelings, at least for the sake of clearing the air. Be honest with him. However, if you have even the slightest problem with a strictly platonic friendship, drop his ass. If he can't make time for you, he doesn't deserve you. Plain and simple!

    I usually don't make plans for Valentine's Day, because I've always been alone, and I still am, but because I have nothing going on that day, I thought I'd make plans. I think I'm gonna spend the day drinking an entire bottle of red wine, binge eating candy, and watching movies, ones that have little to no romance. And I might ignore everyone on social media who is in a relationship.

     

    Or maybe I'll drink whiskey... or vodka... wine is great and all, but being wine drunk lasts FOREVER and it's fucking annoying.

    Those TURN mini albums: 4 = 3 > 2 >>> 1

     

    7 would rank lower than 8 if it didn't include my favourite song of theirs, ハイカラ・殺伐・ハイソ・絶賛

    TURN-1 is garbage! サイレン without screaming is a felony!!

    After two years of single after single, コドモドラゴン (CODOMO DRAGON) will finally release a new album, テグラマグラ (Tegra-Magra) on 12 March, 2019! As with their previous two albums, this one will be released in two types and include 11 tracks. TYPE A (¥3,780) will include a DVD with a music video for the song "DOUBT," and TYPE B (¥3,240) will include one bonus track, as per usual. If you buy both types, you can fill out a form to get a free pamphlet for their upcoming tour "HEADBANGING"

    What?! Why this and why now? I mean, I'm intrigued, but why... Considering the price tag, and the fact that I only really liked Kagerou's albums (and didn't care much for their b-sides), I don't think I'll be buying this one.

    If it weren't for the fact that you have to exchange the voucher for 0 at a live venue, I'd just buy all three types and try to get a copy of 0 by mail.

    Also, I'm curious, has it been confirmed that M-Card downloads are only accessible in Japan? Has anyone outside of Japan tried redeeming an M-Card on filthy gaijin soil?
