Re-recordings seems to be in fashion now. Would be cool if they re-recorded some early stuff.

I'd love to hear their older stuff re-recorded. 絲 is one of my favourites from TRACES 2, and it's a shame that it and reila are the only pre-NIL re-recording. I still enjoy TRACES 2 very much, but I still think that most (if not all) of the post-STACKED RUBBISH songs were unnecessary to include, and it would have been better to instead re-record more 2002-2004 songs.

i love merry to DEATH, but zetsubou & chiyudasen democracy are their worst songs, i s2fg

Disagree about 絶望, I like that song. As for Chiyoda line, I used to love it when NO SMART first came out (as I loved every track), but it doesn't really hold up anymore... at least not when you listen to it in the context of the full album.

  3. I actually thought the "double mini album" concept worked out just fine. I never listen to DIVISION as a full length album and I always forget about the regular edition until someone brings it up (the tracklist doesn't flow as well, imo). I do agree that 余韻 is one of their best songs between 2011-2013, I just wish it was longer.

  4. I only got into last.fm several months before it went down the shitter and even I miss it. The only use it really has to me is a place to upload album art (haha).

These looks are probably for album anniversary tours, but they'd go great with "Rebuild" albums, like what MUCC are doing with the 新-albums. A rebuild version of Puppet Show especially would be cool.

I was thinking about this the other day. I don't think I have almost ever seen a vk band press anything on vinyl.

Two DEG albums, MUCC's latest album, MERRY's 個性者ブレンド・クラッシック (picture disc, legitimacy is debated; pic discs sound like garbage), a few singles by cali≠gari, that's pretty much it.

It's too bad VK doesn't embrace vinyl. With their "50 type releases" business model, I could see them doing a wide variety of different colours to go with different types. And they would most certainly do live-limited vinyl colours, just to be extra cunty.

MERRY - Blind Romance/Saihate no Parade """pamphlet"""

((This could totes pass as a vinyl, but w/out the vinyl))

MERRY not ever pressing anything on vinyl is criminal. This applies to pretty much every good VK band, though.

I remember when DSS came out and Hageshisa to... was just sort of plastered on the album. It felt so out of place because of the sheer length of time between releases. I imagine the same thing will happen with the next DEG album (at least, for me).

I imagine you'll be right, although in my case, utafumi will probably feel like just another album track instead of a recycled single. I can only remember the chorus, since I watched the preview vid several times, but I've only listened to the full song once. It's about as memorable as IMMORTALIS. DEG singles just aren't that interesting to me by themselves.

I'm also hoping the best-of album is re-recordings. Kind of ridiculous to announce something like this an entire year and a half in advance. I kind of just assumed that they abandoned this project after the "Twitter project" thing from last September.

    「浅田天国〜鋼鉄篇〜」(第二部) (HELLNEARS death metal covers):

    1.千代田線デモクラシー (chiyudasen democracy)

    2.絶望 (zetsubou)

    3.ve-doro

    4.平日の女 (heijitsu no onna)

    5.傘と雨 (kasa to ame)

    6.SCHWEIN (Dir en grey)

    7.自意識過剰型木偶人間 (jiishiki kajougata deku ningen)

    8.ジャパニーズモダニスト (japanese modernist)

    9.消毒 (shodoku)

OMFG I NEED FOOTAGE OF CHIYODA LINE DEMOCRACY!! I mean, the original version is fun and all, but a death metal version would be, like, 1,000x better! I'd also really like to hear how they (at least tried to) make a death metal arrangement of 傘と雨. If this show was not recorded/filmed, a crime has been committed.

None of the bands are covering Sabbath, so I'm gonna rampage and riot in the streets. Also, disappointed that Sink is appearing on this release. But I'm cool with a crowd of rebellion covering 梟 (can't wait to hear their vocalist actually sing in actual Japanese), THE NOVEMBERS covering Andrometamorphosis, and Plastic Tree themselves re-recording ZERO.

  11. I can already say that ADORATIO is the most engaging sukekiyo release to date.

I've been following them since day one, but always had trouble getting into their music (don't know why). With IMMORTALIS, I loved "elizabeth addict," and I've probably listened to it 1,000 times by now, but the rest of the album only got one listen; nothing after that really captured my attention, and it felt too long to go back to. VITIUM I also only listened to once a long time ago, while at work (back in my kitchen days);  it was a nice album, pretty chill, but nothing really stood out to me. ADORATIO I've listened to once and already intend to listen to more; every track had something that stood out, something to love, and I grew to appreciate 耳ゾゾ even more (another song that I listened to once then ignored). This album also encourages me to go back to previous material and pay closer attention to further releases.

ADORATIO is the sukekiyo release I've been waiting for since they formed. The album cover is hideous as shit, though (lol).

Also, speaking of 耳ゾゾ, does anyone know how to translate the title? I managed to translate every other title on the album, but I couldn't come up with anything for ゾゾ that made sense...

The only bad thing I see in it is the second disc. I hate collaborations.

I was looking forward to the collabs, particularly elizabeth addict. I was really hoping kyo's dumb out-of-place screeching in the middle would have been replaced, it's literally the only thing wrong with that song, but no, it was preserved. I'm curious to hear the collaboration version of mama, because ガラ, but other than that, I don't really care anymore lol.
