  1. I was completely ready to skip this album and renounce DIAURA after the Noah/シャングリラ single, but this might be a good album! Definitely NOT AOTY material, but not something I'll skip! Noah and Ares or Thanatos both sound bland as fuck, though. I think the album would be more promising if they replaced both Noah and Ares with ENIGMA, and maybe シャングリラ with 月光 (or maybe UNIVERSE?).

  2. THIS VIDEO WASN'T REGION BLOCKED WHAAAAAAAA, nice of Sony to ignore this one (haha)

Still wish cali≠gari picked a more interesting song

I disapprove of 大嫌い so much, gimme original 2003 version or nothing

    Libra was good surprising

溺れる魚 sounds unrecognisable, just kinda sounds like a KEEL track with muffled vocals, but I dig it

DO NOT WANT: 謡声, 暁闇, CLASSIC, フライト, NIRVANA, or Brilliant World, keep 'em!

I'm in for 15/22 of this, that's pretty good for me

  3. I wonder if the new song will sound anything like what we hear at the 1 minute mark of the new song trailer. Way cool!

Although I gotta say, making a trailer for one song, several months in advance? Really dude? Also, I was actually expecting the new album to be released around 3/10

  4. Both types are available on iTunes:

    TYPE A: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/mushigoe-type-a-single/id1294609625

    TYPE B: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/mushigoe-type-b-single/id1294609825

This is the closest to impressive they've gotten post-OUSIA. Musically, all previews sound great, but Jin is the weakest link who ruins it. He desperately needs a vocal coach if he wants to form another band next year.

  5. I think I'm gonna be the first person to not dismiss DECADE 1998-2002. That compilation helped me get into the band, and I thought they chose really good songs that gave me an idea of what to expect from the first three albums. It felt like they actually put in some effort with this one, created a decent flow of songs (although opening each disc with a long song was strange), and they didn't include every single, they included a fair share of album tracks. I just really appreciated that it wasn't just every single and only every single in exact chronological order. I'm sure it violently offended people that no MISSA tracks were included, though.

On the other hand, DECADE 2003-2007 never got much attention from me; I had already heard Withering and MARROW by the time I discovered these compilations, and the remastering on the VULGAR tracks was pretty bad.

Also, there's a VULGAR LP out there somewhere. I've never seen it before, but you could win a copy in a lottery. Catch is, only ten copies exist.

I almost fucking screamed when I saw the leaflet that mentioned this!

Also, I saw an auction of the GAUZE 2LP press on Yahoo! a few years ago and it went for $800, but I was too poor to bid.

  6. I'm not stoked about the tracklist at all, it doesn't look like any of the tracks will flow well at all. The tracklist for disc 3 looks especially problematic. I LOATHE the re-recordings of 罪と罰 and かすみ, I could really do without ultraboomy and untruth, and I'd much prefer they'd use the original version of OBSCURE.

It won't surprise me if the 3 re-recordings sound exactly like the 2012 version of 霧と繭, but with Kyo making different gurgle-burgles and wraggle-fraggles.

  7. Ugh, I don't know what to say. Last year they released one of the best VK albums of the year, and while they've really been phoning it in on the post-album singles, I had hope that they'd still be able to write really good albums. Oh well, this is making me not wanna listen to/buy the new single, and honestly, I'm ready to just ignore them/be a bitter bitch about them. Thanks for RUVISH, I guess.

  8. Just downloaded Heaven Upside Down and I am not impressed. Revelation #12's opening riff was the best thing to happen on this album. SAY10 was surprisingly good, and Blood Honey was fairly decent, but I am not digging the rest! I just can't deal with the electronic "drums." If this album wasn't so watered down in electronic bullshit, I'd probably enjoy this album a lot, I might even look past the cringeworthy sense of humour in the lyrics, although I think I'd still hate JE$U$ CRI$I$.

I will be listening a few more times to see if anything else will grow on me, because I want to give this a chance.

  9. I used to be super obsessed with this band, but I kinda stopped following these guys right around the time they left Starwave. I just haven't really cared for anything they've released on Danger Crue, but damn, I'm digging this!

    Here's a full preview vid:

Not gonna lie, not super into the b-sides
