Interesting comment. I never really thought about it that way. Unless im late to the party I never understood why koichi went solo. Seems very off setting to me and feel as tho his talent as a bassist is better. Just hope he doesn't waste his time.

    That aside:

Tzk lost his vocal touch when mejibray ended. What ever happened to this beautiful masterpiece. I could be wrong since its only the first single but he could have tried a bit more here.  The beginning part of nanaki clearly shows the potential his voice has. Even Echo has more promise and reallyyyyy hate ballads. Normally im a bit nicer to my mejibray peoples but this band was one of the most popular bands in vk at a certain point they could have gotten some musicians to back tzk. They had enough recognition to do it.  Its been done before. Even people who go solo get instrumental support like budget stuff too.

What happened to this beautiful masterpiece and every other song you mentioned was that MiA wrote them. Tsuzuku/Genki wrote the lyrics, but the music was MiA.

  2. Mejibray remains on “hiatus”. 8P-SB keeps on its current trajectory, has another Halloween look that makes fans think for a hot minute that they’re going back to vkei. Yuutaro keeps hanging out with the Liraizo guys. When Pentagon disbands, he and Yutori do a new project together.

Razor goes to Europe for a convention or a fan club trip. They release a few more singles, maybe a mini?

MeteoroiD says “fuck it” and decides it’s too fun to play together, so even if it’s only for one show a year, they decide to stick together. Maybe they even come back to America for a con. (This is wishful thinking on my part but meh.)

Kizu keeps releasing singles that they want to release with sometimes mixed reactions from fans. They release at least one solid heavy A-side that keeps people invested. Reiki keeps having drunk Insta lives.

  3. Just linking to my Twitter (go there to see the full list of what’s available) - my partner and I are moving again soon and we are either selling this stuff or throwing it out. We will take best offer on stuff, but it’s up to the buyer to handle shipping and fees. Might add more later as we continue going through our stuff.

The song gets a bit better after some listens, but I still feel like it's a tad longer than it needs to. I haven't seen the lyrics, but judging from what people are saying, it's kinda odd how the major key (?) music clashes against the subject matter of the song and the imagery displayed on the music video

The contrast is literally the point, lol.

Did you go to yesterday's live? seems like people had a good time. (ngl I have been searching for live reports lol)

Never had the chance to go to one of their lives but from the super short clips they put up, it does seem like they are sounding better live than last year.

And ready player is really quite an improvement from superstar imo.

Not yesterday’s, sadly! I went to the first two shows of their 8-Bit Boy tour. Definitely worth it, it was a lot of fun and a massive improvement from when I saw them in September. It’s also cool because the crowd has improved, it’s less awkward and even if everyone kind of does the same furi to an extent, I saw a lot more people kind of doing their own thing and singing along. It was refreshing!

  6. I mean I’m a huge fan of Mejibray, and at the beginning, even though I went to a couple of 8P lives, I was massively conflicted about it. Then (in my opinion) the quality of the music began to improve and it became apparently that they were expressing what was basically an apology to the fans that they hurt in the process of breaking away - which yes, they didn’t need to apologize, I get that a lot when I bring it up, “they don’t need to apologize for being true to themselves”. But I was there for the last two tours, and it was rough. People were sobbing, everyone was screaming for encores that didn’t come, the tour final was ROUGH, and Koichi basically plugged 8P-SB at the end of Mejibray’s last live on his birthday. Even if they didn’t have to, it was really nice to hear those hurt feelings acknowledged.

I went on on a tangent, sorry, LOL. I will never not miss Mejibray, but I feel like the quality of 8P-SB is improving. I went to their tour more recently and Koichi is definitely a lot more comfortable, both are happy, and Genki utilizes his voice in more interesting ways live than he does on the recorded singles. There’s not as much screaming, but it’s still there and in interesting ways. I think I lost my train of thought, but yeah, it’s really not as bad as people think, it’s getting better, but it is radically different.

  7. Mejibray is a very important band to me, but I’ve said before that I can understand the haters. Originally, Tsuzuku’s voice did not do it for me: it took me seeing them live on a whim to get into then, and I still maintain that a good chunk of their songs are better live than they were recorded.

That said, I think Mejibray may draw excessive vitriol due to the amount of exposure it had and the kind same of younger fans they attracted. I’m pretty sure this has been the consensus every time the discussion has cropped up.
