whenever people complain about dir sounding the same since like 2012, i always imagine what'd people say if they sounded as stale as lynch lmao

their new album preview legit sounded all like songs i've heard before, with just different notes in the melodies

Well, not since 2012, but Utafumi and Ningen wo Kaburu sound like Arche leftovers. Hell, Ningen sounds like they crammed almost all of Arche into three and a half minutes.

What are the odds that the album is better mastered than Ningen? I’m going to be very disappointed if this sounds like a burned CD from 2004.

Slim to none. Everything has sounded the same since the Rinkaku single, though Ningen was its own special kinda fucked.

Wasn't Clever Sleazoid the last time they rerecorded a single for an album? Every time since it's just been a remaster, like Hageshisa to... (WET TOWEL Mix).

Ryoujoku no Ame was also re-recorded.

That picture makes me really sad. It gives me "how the mighty have fallen" vibes.

    I hope they're happy.

Well, Tsuzuku DID change his name to Genki.

which means, next album will be WAY better than everything they released in the past years cause they'll be free to do whatever they want ?

Or continue to do whatever Ruki wants only without the Eye of Sauron looming over him?

  5. I can’t call Ninth muddy anymore after spending time with a CD copy of it, but I do notice that the mix varies across several songs. Utsusemi is way too fuzzy, and maybe that was intentional, but I’d like more oomph behind it. Some of the heavier tracks also sound really compressed to my ears.

  6. Yeah, the intro mash up was discussed elsewhere.

But do we know for sure that some intros are missing? It’s such a clusterfuck of noise who can actually tell? Also, Division is still a single disc album, only the limited edition is split into two discs. So whatever intro they used for the regular version could be in there.

  7. I skip Gush. I do not like anything about that song at all.

Regarding the production, it’s safe to assume a lot of people are listening to shitty rips on stock earbuds, but I’m not, and I think Dim and even Dogma had better mixing than Ninth. I won’t say it’s muddy, but I will use my favorite criticism and say the dynamics are screwy. Seems like it’s mixed too hot in some places, and it makes chaotic songs like Abhor God sound messy. Still, compared to the last four albums, Ninth has far less filler, with the a above mentioned Gush being the only sore thumb.
