Wow, never thought I'd see the day.

I like it. I remember feeling the same about Doukou and Mirai Iro when they came out—Nothing special, generic, etc., but they ended up becoming some of my favorite songs. This one feels more like Namida Drop though.

Hm, strange release but my interest is piqued

This album is really good and fun to listen to. I've been 'spinning' it for two weeks and keep coming back, finding new things to appreciate with each new listen. I feel like this one's less about the atmosphere that was DOGMA, focusing instead on some really fun music. Hands down the best GazettE album since DIM for me (Haven't really enjoyed this much since that era, though I like some of what they've done in the time in between)
Favorite tracks: The Mortal (Love the chorus/synth), その声は脆く(A sleeper hit with a powerful melody), Babylon's Taboo (Pretty original for them; heavy, 'groovy' and interesting, without much screaming which is a nice touch) and Unfinished (Super fun; I don't recall a GazettE album ending on an upbeat track like this)

It was bound to happen eventually, but it still blows to hear about. They really dropped off my radar after the line up changed way back when, but I was lucky enough to see them in Canada when they came and they were really fun for nostalgia purposes D;

More of PINOCCHIO, ネイキッド and 邪崩 are what I want to hear from this band. This is the direction they need to go in.
The LIQUID VAIN, DNA, and BRILLIANT A-sides have all used a similar formula that is far too generic for my taste and don't come close to anything on the first mini imho. They need to step away from that.

Couldn't agree with you more. New Onmyou-za is always a treat and I thoroughly enjoy both their consistency and each of their releases.
I remember hearing Kouga Ninpuchou way back when I was an un-learned weaboo and it blew my nerdy socks off. This album is no different – It's got plenty of power, and a lot more Matatabi than usual. Whereas I can get a little 'sick' of Kuroneko's vocals after repeated listening, he never gets old for me. There's just something about his very samurai-esque voice that works so well with the music they make. -

Nice visual btw, generic but i like the "dictator" style in contrast with the "mozart" one x)
Couldn't agree more. I really tried to like BORN over the years, over and over again, but something was missing. Ryoga's vocals and the song composition in RAZOR really work well together though.
New look is great! -

Are those ears or clams?

It's good but it doesn't stand out to me.
One of the best vocalists out there right now though, that's for damn sure.

Not too into that cover either. Kind of reminds me of the MIRRORS single (but MIRRORS looked better)
'JOKER' usually means 'jazz kei' in this scene so I hope they don't go that route.
Seems kind of weird to have another number as a track (FIVE) when the album is already called XIII. Maybe it'll be a sugary bro ballad about Akinori and the gang reunited at last?

PINOCCHIO may be one of my favorite songs all year–It's been on repeat for like, a week.
It's got that MBHI sound to it and so many interesting parts.

Holy crap, that was surprising and super good for many reasons. I especially love everything about the opening.

I tend to like GazettE's ballads, but I don't get why they think it's a good idea to tease the new album with one. Doesn't really build on the FALLING hype more than it does take away from it.

J-Pop snoozefest. I don't know why bands release these sugary ballads when promoting such big releases.

My guess is it's related to this

Cover 1: Damn I look great on this bike in my cool long coat
Cover 2: Coat gets caught in the wheels and burns out, long howls of sadness with much vibrato and longing
Cover 3: A depression far too much to bear. Suisaido imminent

All DEATHGAZE'S album art in the last few year's was pretty good. Wonder who the designer was.
Those track names sound pretty cool! I'm going to have to get this and see how it stacks up. -
Sad to see a band fail like this after such a lukewarm come back D; Album artwork is nice though.
DIR EN GREY released their 10th album "The Insulated World" on September 26, 2018

I actually like the album title. I never care for their singles and end up loving the albums, so I'm sure this will be no different.
