Ito 2438 Posted May 8, 2014 I did a quick search and was shocked we didn't already have a thread like this? List some of the songs where the vocalist so so incoherent with their mumbles that you have no idea that it is in English. For me the first song that comes to mind is The Gazette's Filth in the Beauty. I literally had no idea that the song was mostly in English until I looked up the lyrics. 8 miyuu, Flame-X, Visutox and 5 others reacted to this
Owl 347 Posted May 8, 2014 I like PLASTICZOOMS, but I can hardly understand english parts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctQcISdam1U Lyrics in description. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goXE3imxUV4 2 Visutox and Chi reacted to this
Pretsy 1343 Posted May 8, 2014 I had no idea during its release days that it was *almost* completely in English ( the good ol' glory of Kyongrish!) Also lately: the chorus off sukekiyo's "vandal" ("listening to dead kennedys/I hand down a malicious verdict on you") was very incomprehensible for me during the first listen 3 paradoxal, Visutox and hitsuji-hime reacted to this
hitsuji-hime 211 Posted May 8, 2014 Phantasmagoria's NIL FRONTIER sounds lovely, but when I looked up the lyrics, I was surprised to see it was in English...I normally don't like Engrish songs, but this was just too good to pass up. 1 Visutox reacted to this
violetchain 912 Posted May 8, 2014 I'm still not sure whether these lyrics for WHITE ASH's "Would You Be My Valentine?" are actually correct or not--that's how incomprehensible their singer is. Lyrics: http://petitlyrics.com/lyrics/923906 It's a shame, since he has a lovely voice. 1 Visutox reacted to this
Flame-X 441 Posted May 8, 2014 In addition to Ito's post, Gazette's Hyena is a load of incomprehensible engrish mess. I thought for sure the verses were all in Japanese but nope. Dir en grey also had plenty but the fan interpretation of Clever Sleazoid's lyrics is hilarious. 1 Visutox reacted to this
sai 868 Posted May 9, 2014 Everyone's classic favourite: I had no idea this was in English until I searched for the lyrics, lmao. 7 VESSMIER, Peace Heavy mk II, Visutox and 4 others reacted to this
Visutox 188 Posted May 9, 2014 This song is completely in english and because of Natsuki... I thought it was in japanese with some english parts. Anyway, his "english" is epic. Love it. Even today I still don't get a shit about the lyrics. 1 Ito reacted to this
violetchain 912 Posted May 9, 2014 Just remembered how surprised I was when I first looked up the lyrics to Missile Girl Scoot's "Big Mouth" and saw it was completely in English, with lines like "That frickin' idiot told everybody something I kept a secret. / Why is he a fuckin' big mouth? What a jerk!" and "Don't spread gossips around, you nerd!"

Guest mitsu the indie girl Posted May 9, 2014 ^ Versailles / Revenant Choir was horrible when Kamijo started singing haha Oh, the Engrish!
Corronum 13 Posted May 14, 2014 Anything Juka has put vocals to is best engrish for the hilarity factor alone, but I'm going to nominate early MDM's Gloire Dans le Silence. The growls PLUS the fact it was in english t had me listening to it soley for the music.
JonhPSX 2 Posted May 14, 2014 "Unplugged Superstar" from SuG is the worst i ever heard in terms of "engrish". The lyrics are ALL in english, but it's so incomprehensible without then, that took me months to realize... 1 kukew reacted to this

God 264 Posted July 27, 2014 One of my favorites is in a Namie Amuro song called Beautiful. Can't find an actual clip of it on youtube, but the song is a ballad--the typical ~you can do it~ type. You know, like, soft piano stuff. Anyway, at one point in the song, Namie sings "It's no supplies," clear as day. Like, if you didn't know the accent, you'd assume she had actually said "supplies" instead of "surprise" and the whole stanza is Engrish. Kinda ruins the momentum of a song, but I usually get a laugh.
Lestat 2167 Posted July 28, 2014 I really don't get why these songwriters won't take an extra hour to find someone who is willing to properly translate their lyrics from 'Engrish' to proper English. Japan is home to not just the Japanese anymore, a ton of foreigners have taken residence in the country (most of them as translators, even) and would be more than willing to save a band from turning into a major joke. Also, my two cents added to the topic: Schwarzschild and Die Letzte Nacht by D. The lyrics aren't necessarily terrible, but whenever you listen to them there's no way to make out what Asagi's singing. 2 PsychoΔelica and Komorebi reacted to this
violetchain 912 Posted July 30, 2014 I like this song, but when you don't have the lyrics in front of you it actually sounds like he's just singing gibberish at the beginning.

beni 2149 Posted September 14, 2014 Even though it's a version of the Japanese song, and this might be a pretty unpopular opinion, but I absolutely adore listening to Versailles' Love Will Be Born Again (English Version). (I can't find a video to link, can be found as a single mp3 track though, don't know if I'm allowed to link..) Even though I find Kamijo's Engrish really funny at times, I enjoy the melody and song no matter what language it'd be sung in. Still doesn't beat the Japanese one though! x)
