Found the new sakanaction album pretty disappointing, unfortunately. The single tracks are still fantastic, but I felt lukewarm about all of the new songs (outside of the PV track).

just gotta drop my 2 cents in a more visible place:

i'm of the opinion that visual kei has been dying for a good minute. but rock "died" in mainstream american music too and its still around. vk will have the same fate. as long as there's japanese people willing to be visual kei, and international english speaking fans willing to listen, then mh will always be here. and even if you have fallen out of love with japanese music, we are still here for you too. at some point, we've grown beyond a site for music and we've become a community and a family, and that is the secret sauce that has allowed us to outlive all our competition.

Anyone here ever got a headache / hurt their ears listening to VK? Not talking 'lol bad music hurrrr' here, I'm talking like 'music causing actual physical discomfort'. For me one band that seems to cause it is 12012 with their earliest material. Something about the production on their older releases just makes me feel uncomfortable, maybe it's that weird tin can-like filter over the vocals.

It’s so depressing to listen to Alice Nine’s album GEMINI, even ‘9’, and then compare it to whatever they are doing now. They were my favorite band for years and since their comeback they have been nothing but disappointing after Phoenix.

Do you guys read manga on your phones? what's your setup? I used to download from mangatraders but they are gone and I can't find a reliable source now

DEZERT new album songs are actually very good. If it was a brand new band i'd be super hyped like "WHAT AN AWESOME POP-ROCK COMMERCIAL BAND!!!" it just makes me feel kinda "meh..." because it's not what i expected from them. But the songs quality are super good, Chiaki is singing super well and the bass sounds awesome.

How do you know when 1) things aren't working but the universe if fucking with you and you just need to keep trying, or 2) things aren't working because you're trying things in the wrong way, and they will never work if you don't change/abandon?

Can someone please recommend me some good Larc en Ciel and Vamps songs?

Day 3 for me, and I'm still listening to NINTH.  It's gotta be at least my 15th play through the album.

I feel I'm having a repeat of DOGMA, where I need more time to listen to every nuance this album has to offer in order to put a review together.
