Biopanda reacted to allisapp in random thoughts thread
I got a job~! Now I have to start practising swedish way more Even though it has gotten lot better in just two months.
(I will work in a hotel, where I have to speak in three langauges. If I was brave enough, I would try to learn japanese hotel vocabularly but my boyfriend keeps telling me not to and refuses to teach some stuff because he would want me to speak keigo.)

Biopanda got a reaction from CELESTIAL CIEL in MARY RUE will restart activities
I honestly thought that Kyon would be joining them since she mysteriously reappeared recently and even tweeted a photo of her and MARY RUE's members. To be fair though, their current drummer is only a support member, so there's a chance she could join them later?

Biopanda reacted to plastic_rainbow in Gifts/Haul Thread - Post things you received as presents or bought yourself!
I did Secret Santa with my siblings and got a portable suitcase turntable. Now I can buy vinyl records and listen to them!
I ordered myself a RarezHut lucky bag and opened it on Christmas~ I recognize most bands but most of it is new to me.
I was especially happy to find an old release of Lolita23q in there! It sure takes me back!
I also ordered myself some accessories from YesStyle (first time buying there) and I'm especially happy with my screw earring.
@Mephistophelesjealous of your instax btw! That was one of the things on my Secret Santa wishlist. I think I'll buy myself one soon~!

Biopanda got a reaction from reminiscing2004 in Jrock Marketing towards *Heterosexual* Men
I think it's the pose where you're on your knees in front of another guy. Very popular in the VK bandoman circles.

Biopanda got a reaction from Laurence02 in Post your "UNPOPULAR" music opinions!
"Old-school/90's VK wasn't really much better" With so many people parading around old-school superiority, I'd say I'm in the minority with this opinion. As someone who has been in VK for ~10 years and collects tons of old-school stuff, I can certainly say without a bit of doubt that there were a TON of really shitty bands back then. Anyone who would say otherwise is looking through some pretty rose-tinted glasses. That being said, I certainly do miss some of sub-scenes in VK that no longer exist(soft visual/white-kei/proto-oshare) and don't exactly like all of the "sounds" that bands tend to get grouped into nowadays, but I definitely can't say that one era was better or worse than the other as they all have their ups and downs.

Biopanda reacted to cvltic in A (Not So) Brief History of Tanuki & Visual Kei Message Boards
I've been wanting to write some of this stuff out forever because I'm a huge digital packrat and I like to archive these types of things... I don't think any of this has been written out anywhere before, but I'm not sure how much people actually care about the fan culture part of VK here, especially the Japanese fan culture, and especially the online Japanese fan culture. But, just in case any of you are also level 50 Turbo Nerds I thought I should post it here. I hope this is a sensible place to put it??
this piece is WAY too long for how lame the subject is and i'm so sorry
tl;dr: tanuki is old as fuck and there used to be another tanuki and forums are dead, long live tanuki
edit: fixed a number i screwed up

I know nobody really wants to see Kisaki's crispy ol' body, but why are VK fans so alright with what basically amounts to revenge porn?

Biopanda got a reaction from Mamo in DANGER☆GANG new look + Ba.airan has departed
They released a 3rd PV DVD as well as a live-distributed single called "create a furor" since then. As far as I know, they've never been "inactive" though. They do multiple lives every month and have always focused on being more of a live band than a studio band.
