Considering Taishi joined another band earlier this year, I’d say his health issue was that he was sick of Retsu

It’s probably just because it’s not actually anyone in DEG making this stuff.

Maybe a reason why people shifted from VK to kpop is the fact that the ‚VK‘ idols have always been seeming to be unapproachable. Like, you see a member and think what they do is cool but you rarely find interviews or anything. That always frustrated me, never knowing a little bit of the person behind the music.
I remember with Kpop laughing my ass off during reality shows, a lot of fangirl material asforth. Also, a great translation community on the net - anything gets translated. On the contrary, Dir en grey and the Gazette being the probably biggest VK-band, and still a lot of interviews on the net without translations.
And yea, maybe the golden era of VK is over. Both musically and visually. I feel all the new bands lack originality in that sense.

    So 2 things:
    1. Why have they removed every video/upload prior to this
    And
    2. Man I was really digging these guys with their first couple releases like agartha but it's been such a decline since then imo

Tbh even tho they're really not vk anymore (although kyo's visuals are pretty much more impressive than 99% of anyone currently active in vk) I imagine I'll lose a huge chunk of interest in music in general especially japanese stuff whenever dir en grey/sukekiyo come to an end

I find the discourse about when and how the audience reacts during a DEG show ridiculous. A few months back fans were claiming Kyo reverted back to his self-harm theatrics as a way to get more from the crowd, so the solution was to give as much as you can. Now it’s “don’t cheer when he’s using the red microphone cord as a prop for his intestines”?

My best friend got married recently and bought a house with her husband. While I'm happy for them, I can't help feeling like I'm about ten years behind them and everyone else in life experience. It's not even a 'feeling', it's fact.

Well a Japanese girl I follow on insta who is a Dir mega fan posted a pic with merch purchases from a show and bought every single one. So guess for some they really are must have items... haha.

I see at least 3 of my fave colors there. If only I can attend, I'd definitely buy. Honestly, it will be no different than buying those characters licensed hotwheels or tomica, which I owned some. Besides this is like unique items than regular merch stuffs such as tees and tote bags. I appreciate the variety tbh.

Ahh the perfect gift to represent the fandom.
Tbh I've been shopping around for a trash can for my kitchen and this is one of the cheapest  I've come across. The toy cars are just a joke to show they can put whatever they want out there and the fans will buy.

Guess I wrote it somewhere in this forum already, but...Arche is my favorite, and I love it to the extent that I would dare to say it is my favorite album ever. I agree with the flop tracks you mentioned (although Inferno is the only track that I really think is not fitting into the album). But all the other tracks I love soo much, they speak to me on a personal level and I think Shinyas drumming is particularly well-fitting. Everything on this album sounds so perfectly well-matched, I guess to some people it is too ‚perfect‘?
Dum spiro spero is my 2nd favorite, I just like the long tracks, like a symphony that takes you through different places. Not too much into the mix though.
I don‘t really get the hate for marrow of a bone...it has some really nice tracks with raw emotion, which is what dir en grey fans like I guess? And Uroboros is great, too...it‘s gloomy track Bugaboo made me their fan!
I don‘t listen too much to withering, though musically I think Insulated is their worst album. However, I do enjoy live performances of its songs, so I guess in the end you cant do else but have slight  for anything they do.

cheesy_VK_Freak got a reaction from heresytrash in My mom's lack of understanding.
My advice: don‘t try to change her mind. If she‘s willing to hold on to her son, it‘s okay, even though he might not deserve this. She‘s a mother, afterall and it is excruciating to realize: damn, my son is a failure. Hence, have I failed?
I know it might be nerve-wrecking but in my opinion it is not your business to convince her that she shouldn‘t hold on to him.
However, you don‘t owe her to go along with that. If you say she is downplaying the effect of his actions towards you guys, point it out and that it is hurtful to you. Always expect her to respect your view on the situation and the consequences your view has. Respect her clinging to her son, but demand that you won‘t go along with that.

cheesy_VK_Freak reacted to Bear in Last movie you saw.
Still haven't seen Joker and not sure if I ever will. The movie looks like it's fucking amazing, and Joaquin Phoenix seems to be beyond brilliant in it (like he always is!). But I still have no desire to watch. No interest whatsoever, despite the fact that it looks amazing and I've been looking forward to it for such a long time. Weird shit.

San Andreas - Silly and very standard disaster movie, but it's fun for what it is. Dumb, mindless fun.

Central Intelligence - This buddy cop comedy starring  Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart really caught me off guard. It doesn't offer up anything new, but I really fucking like it. Thought it was hilarious throughout, and despite clocking in at close to two hours it never got boring. Kevin Hart is Kevin Hart, running around and yelling like hell all the time, but he's got great comedic timing and I like him a lot. However I do understand why a lot of people don't. I really unerstand why people find him annoying as hell. Dwayne Johnson however was out of this world in this, and much dof it comes down to his lack of comedic timing. It just made it hilarious. Fantastic performance. Awesome movie!

Ride Along - Another buddy cop comedy with Kevin Hart, and this time he's joined by Ice Cube. Most people seem to hate this, but despite its flaws I liked it. These type of buddy cop comedies just touches the right spot of my heart. Not nearly as good as Central Intelligence, but funny nonetheless. Looking forward to seeing Ride Along 2 later today.
