I dunno where to post this, but
is it just me or does a lot of vk REALLY sound like early Birthday Party?

Retsu does keep posting on instagram stuff like "where do you want us to play overseas?" and such so possibly so!
Tbh I'm not really surprised about them dropping the V Kei image, especially as they've always been easily able to be part of both V Kei and the more "extreme" metal scene. I've always had the impression they don't fully want to market themselves as a full on V kei band, that may sound a bit weird but they're not the kind of band who are releasing singles every month or two and take a long time between releases which keeps things higher quality. (+They're probably all trying to run part time jobs as well as doing the music) And the way they are focused on putting out albums, instead of single after single, even the way they promote themselves seems more like Dir, or any of the other bigger bands in the Japanese scene do, like they don't tend to drop so many lyric videos, sample music videos, album snippets (not in the same way most v kei bands do at least) and such. They've not had the easiest ride so far, but they've managed to recover from losing members before so aren't so worried about them coming back from this. But at the same time will not be surprised if they did decide to call it quits and focus on other projects or whatever, would be a bummer but they've made some quality stuff that'll be around forever so that's good enough for me.

i just assumed the vk drop is a move to attract a broader western audience but who knows. i'm sure music-wise their new efforts will slay.

yeah I'm worried too, every vk queennie who did the tragic azn beard thing looked like an incel like literally no exceptions here, I hope we'll see the fake her soon like lashes wig a bit of extensions here and there maybe a fishnet too what else

Just cuz they weren't around for it when it came out doesn't mean they never actually listened to it. Everyone's entitled to their opinions.

Let's start a movement by buying dimlim's next release, digital or physical... Doesn't matter. I understand most of us are broke but this is for the greater good. Issei's (possibly having a) smug smile on his face gives me cramps.

i'm p sure there's not a way for an intro post to not be hideously awkward but w/e. i've been lurking for the past few days so i figured i should probably make an account.
i got into this kinda stuff ~2004 as a teenager when my dad's job moved us to tokyo, but i dropped out of it in 2012 after i finished university and moved back to the uk. i'm now in the throes of a predictable late 20s crisis so i've been enjoying re-discovering stuff i had forgotten about, and finding a bunch of new things (ty).
so hi, nice to meet you, etc.

ambivalentideal reacted to IchiHiroya in 8P-SB new album, "future past" release
Hi. Hello.
I'm just curious as to what you guys think of their latest release?
I honestly think it's a bop and even Koichi's voice sounds pleasant(?). If anything, it kinda makes me look forward to their second album????

It's always great hearing aicle has fans ;; Oh man that's a good one!! Shidoro modoro is my jam tbh. Do you like yeti? It's emiru's "new" band, they're about to release something in a few days but it's nice that he kept doing music. His voice is so unique!
Nothing wrong with taking a break/leaving for a bit! I was super into it but didn't know where to obtain things so it was mostly downloads/what coverage was available online or in anime mags until I was able to start going to lives. Was lucky that my local con got bands so I looked forward to seeing someone but that didn't start till 2009.
I'll definitely check it out, I appreciate the recommendation! I heard they lost members recently?
