Lowkey pretty sure broken by the scream has better harsh vocalists than the majority of visual kei lul
-
March music is gonna kill my wallet. Bought some razor stuff including their expensive ass limited edition live DVD, and other new releases from kizu, munou na lucid, iiird, hueye, laveil mizeria, and verxina, god help me.
-
maybe a silly question to ask but since the dude has been around for awhile in like 10 different projects, what are some notable SUI releases i should peep out, im fine with any of his bands/projects i just have no idea where to start is all lol

maybe im just biased towards alot of recent bands or something and also just really hate others but it does seem like these last few years into current day weve had some of the most exciting vk bands come up and also some of the absolute most dogshit garbage ass earfuck abominations ever
-
Haha, five stars for your perfect description of the VK genre. There's great gems, and then there's questionable ones where you're wondering where the hell they even came from, lol.
Also like @Gesu said, I think it's nice to be able to express your opinions on MH and not get completely flamed or be treated like utter trash for it (Thinking of places like YouTube...)

@monkeybanana4 I'm getting Vietnam flashbacks to a YT comment war on MEJIBRAY's Eiki PV that started when someone said she hated VK because it's "gay and the bois look like gurls". When people told her she was being ridiculous, she said and I quote "What if I said that I HATE visual kei?" and I think she got disappointed when everyone said they wouldn't really give a shit. Ahh, memories.

Maybe people dislike him because hes very outspoken or over the top edgy but i personally really fuck with madmans esprit music, especially that new Seoul single

My best friend literally dislikes my music tastes more than anyone I know 99.99% of the time and I showed them the new dimlim mv and they gave it a 7/10, I'm shook
-
New rands, dimlim, the thirteen, and labaiser all coming out within the same time period, gonna be a good start to 2020 for music
-
New SHIVA looks and sounds like alot of the darker and heavier vk bands I fucked with hard around the years of 2008-early 2010s, anyone else feel this way
-
nothing personal if you happen to like them but by god dexcore seem miles away the worst out of all the active trendy br00tal kei bands
-
I don't usually talk much about what I dislike anymore but I feel the same. I think it sounding more west style metal is why, like you said. That and major key or 'catchy chorus', I skip that in all songs unless it's very short. But I'm also someone who can almost only listen to minor key.
(Engrish I hate too if it's corny but I can tolerate it in certain circumstances.)
So it's like a triple threat of annoyances lol

Out of curiosity what are some examples of vk bands in the past, that much like dimlim where it feels like 99% of the consensus (at least among the western online community) that they're solid. Feels like with other popular bands you still had a pretty present vocal audience saying they sucked ie mejibray, deathgaze, kizu etc (wont even bother mentioning obvious ones like diru and gazette)

I wouldn't count older bands for this one even if some of us were already around ( Kagerou and Deadman. Both the scene is different and we are older which changes things a lot ) nor bands that obviously started sucking hard later on and causing people to turn on them like Mucc and Girugamesh, but even to this day the few who stuck by D'espairsray even after their mortifyingly awful fourth album is beyond me ( and anyone who likes anything off of that album ought to stop listening to music altogether. ) However, I'd also say 9Goats Blackout was decently popular in the western fandom and the handful of people that didn't like them didn't bother reminding people about it all the time. I guess Moran as well and some Ains stuff, but I'd also say that apart from Grieva they didn't really arouse any feelings in the opposition and were therefore largely left alone to disband in their own time.

Other bands just don't get the rocket attached to them quite like say, Mejibray did and then the negative response is also quieter. For a band like that I'd go ahead and say that Kizu is doing a lot better for itself in the western fandom than a lot of the bands from the Royz era that felt like were going to go somewhere. I can't believe there was a time when even a band like Nega got a lot of people talking every time something was released, and almost like 50% of it must've been nega ( ha ) tive.

I think pretty much every band had/has SOMEONE who doesn't like them, even if they're not that vocal about it. But as for saying like the majority supported a certain band, I also disagree with that because I'm sure there's some corner on the internet where VK fans gather/used to gather where the consensus might be totally different. I mean I remember hearing that Latin American fans are obsessed with Versailles, like on another level. Also seconding @Disposable on the fact that "the scene is different and we are older" because I think that plays a lot into it. But all of you saying you dislike 9goats, pls turn in your VK card, I'll be collecting them at the window over here from 9 pm tonight

RAZOR members tweeting about shooting a new mv and look so I guess either a new release will be announced soon tm or its gonna be a song off the recent full length
-
Really loving this verxina album, so much energy and chaos and I'm absolutely in love with how filthy hiro's screams/harsh vocals are. Definitely a band I gotta prioritize seeing live whenever I go to japan
-
Shout out to cdjapan who has my money and the cds in stock but cant be bothered to package them and send em out
-
i think they were relocating warehouses recently. maybe a delay regarding that.

so was gonna originally plan a trip to japan based around starwave festival but now i see if i go earlier (and have to miss starwave fest cause its to far apart) i get to see verxina and virge onemans...these decisions are incredibly tough
-
virge are so fun!! but like every song has a ton of furi so be prepared to learn quick if you don't know it already haha. and honestly i'd just book it around one or two must see's and eventually other bands will announce stuff too and you'll have a full schedule soon enough.
