Thoughts on my first ever viewing of Zoolander because of giving in to the hype with its sequel and own slight interest because Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson shipping: Thought process: Sees Ferrell: "I'm allowing myself to see and hear Hell" As soon as Stiller's character talks: "Why isn't that his voice 24/7?" When Zoolander says anything like so: "My humor is terrible and this film is the definition of what I find funny" When Frankie Goes To Hollywood's Relax song plays: "This movie is too perfect for its own good" By the end of the movie: "Where has this been in my life for 15 god damn years?" Final thoughts: Genius. Final "final" thoughts: Give it up for whoever made Will Ferrell funny and watchable for once.

I'm going to have to come back to Murakami another time then, thanks for your comment on that. Might as well remove my bookmark from it for either of his other two. XD I didn't know of 'Coin Locker Babies' so I'll add that with 'In The Miso Soup'. His titles always sound interesting. I totally get how you feel with 'Piercing', there's a lot more that could've been done with it. It just... ended, and it didn't really go anywhere now that I think about it but damn was it gripping. Totally reading 'In The Miso Soup' in one sitting now too! Oh nice, being influenced by anime! Interesting stuff. Ah, that's too votes on 'Kafka on the Shore' now then. Won't need to debate with myself between them. And LMAO, I'm not going to even bother with the movie then, even if Mizuhara is starring in it... I won't give in! Listening to you all the way! Too bad the setting/style looks neat, bet it's like Bunraku, looks great, but it's actual crap overall. X'D AHHHH AWWWWWW YEAH~ Nice seeing someone else dig her work. x3 I remember seeing that CutiePieMarzia YouTuber bring her up and totally flipped. 'Out' is another book I had purchased on that shopping spree! I'm a bit worried about how thick it is, lol, but it sounded really thriller like so I had to get it. Going straight on it asap now that you've brought it up.

Selflessly nicking and spamming in the spam section~ How this works is the count starts at 0. If you're a female, you'll count up one place. If you're male, you'll count down one place. If it's in the minus digits, the lads are winning. If not, it's the lasses that are winning. Once the number hits either 100, or -100, the countdown will restart. Obviously the one rule is no double posting.

Title says it all~ What do you think is the above user's memorable/best avi and/or sig?

Still on series 1 and only started watching recently but this is pretty damn good stuff for a something I thought was the series version of The Hunger Games (dat super popularity) that I assumed was all about extreme violence and a guide as to what you shouldn't do/be within your family.

Bless those TV music channels that cover the Noughties and Nineties. So many forgotten gems. Morning well spent.

So I had recently gone on a book purchasing spree that are all written by Japanese authors (call me a weeaboo, but it was a sure way to get me into reading more than just manga) and I thought this might be a nice little thread to show our appreciation for their literature while also sharing our comments on popular/currently reading ones and discuss them so here goes nothing~ I'll start this of by saying who my favourite author is. Banana Yoshimoto's work is always quote worthy and leaves an impression on you. My first read of hers was 'Kitchen' and I'm looking forward to getting to 'Goodbye Tsugumi' and 'Lizard'. Kitchen- Goodbye Tsugumi- Lizard- The one book I've ever read in one sitting was 'Piercing', by Ryu Murakami. I flew through it and it played like a movie on paper. Sure, that's what books are, but I really got that sense with how gripping it was. While the ending was rather disappointing, that finished almost like there was much more that could've happened (I probably read it so quickly because it was one of the shorter books I got at 192 pages), the writing was spot on and really engaging. A very worthwhile recommendation and quick read suggestion. Piercing- I've started both Taichi Yamada's 'Strangers' and Hitomi Kanehara's 'Autofiction', and will be getting to Yoko Ogawa's 'The Housekeeper and the Professor' and Hiromi Kawakami's 'Strange Weather in Tokyo' after. I'm slowly making my way through Haruki Murakami's 'Norwegian Wood', and at this rate, I might as well watch the movie and forget about the book. I'm a good 180 or so pages in and it has yet to captivate me like my other two previous mentions. Knowing he's one of the most popular writers from Japan probably made my expectations heightened.

Feel free to link any original thread that this may have already been covered on. If not, feel free to comment with your own on either or both categories: Are there any groups/artists you really dig the look of but can't get into them, musically? Or are there ones you love the sound of but always shake your head at their sense of style? I always think of Lament. for the first category. Their look is so gorgeous, but I've never been one to enjoy their music, even when I really try and force myself. I'm honestly having a tough time thinking of a singer/group I don't like the look of but like their music so I'll have to post again once I think over it over more. So for now, what are the first musicians that pop into your head for either/each?

Bumping because it's the 14th~ Paloma Faith is my music waifu and her songs are usually more about lost love but this one is a surprisingly hopeful spin on her typical songwriting. I so wish she did this more often. While this is subjective, I do look at this song as one of her more positive works. Her lush, elegant vocals being the narration for the cute and sweet lyrics is more than adorable and is a breath of fresh air against the rest of her tunes (just check out the video to see the lyrics!). It's one of my lullaby songs for the night because of its whimsical sound and soft sound. There's plenty of theories and suggestions with this song, being that it's positive when it comes to love, or that it's about a break up and its after-map, and even that it's about the band's formation having gone through loses of members (and taking into account all their relations to one another). What cannot be denied is the sweet lyrics that makes me come back to this tune every now and then: Can't count the years one hand That we've been together I need the other one to hold you. Make you feel, make you feel better. It's not a walk in the park To love each other. But when our fingers interlock, Can't deny, can't deny you're worth it Cause after all this time. I'm still into you I should be over all the butterflies But i'm into you (I'm in to you) And baby even on our worst nights I'm into you (I'm into you) Let em wonder how we got this far Cause I don't really need to wonder at all Yeah after all this time I'm still into you This one is more of a guilty pleasure for me. I adore the lyrics, but I get embarrassed that it's Avicii and Leona Lewis. Admittedly, I actually like the DJ work on this one that I usually hate whenever I turn on the music channels on TV these days, but with the lovely and actual innocently (to an extend but more so than other chart topping songs ehe) feel good lyrics (see the vid~). I've already commented on these guys before, but their album 'My Forever' plays like a real Love Letter and its stayed with me as one of the very first CDs I ever purchased and still listen to now. Just click on the video link to get to the whole album on YouTube and find the lyrics in each video's description. OST goodness now. Anastasia isn't just one of the best animated movies, but it has a bloody wonderful soundtrack too. Such wedding song. I wish I could find the lyrics to this song again, but this is my favourite chara song ever and the lyrics are the most beautiful thing I've graced. God damn myself for not saving them as soon as I discovered a translation. It still sounds gorgeous, and if you know Japanese, major plus right there.

Was awaiting this topic to let off some steam on it. If anything, Enon is probably at the height of his career now thanks to this. There's no excuse that Enon doesn't get the same treatment as Becky, and now that I think about it, why is she getting all this? I didn't know about the detail that she didn't know that he was married until later. That just screams that he's the one to blame, he's the one that deserves this instead and not her. This whole thing is all wrong and has been treated wrongly. So done. My sympathy goes out to the wife mostly and Becky.

10cm - 담배왕 스모킹 I know of 10cm but haven't gone out of my way to really give a listen as of yet so thank you for this. I am in favor of some Korean music now and then, but this sort isn't usually my cup of tea so this is great exposure. I do enjoy the tempo of the song though, and the singer's voice is surprisingly lush and sensual in some parts. There's a lot of different sounds implemented in a rather short song that just scrapes the two minute mark, with what sounds like Latin influenced parts like the instrumental bit that brings me back to Enrique Iglesias. It's fun and groovy in the best way. 7.5/10 NEXT SONG: 秘密結社パンピー (Okayu San & Hakkun) - RPG
