Bless you for commenting, @Peace Heavy mk II. Was a reminder to post @doombox's very helpful theme tick off list here. Updated: Feel free to correct my updating on any hiccups/misses. Still wanting to forward the movie/episode (series/TV) nights for Sundays or something if others are also interested.

<3 Had no idea he did more than just the Sucker Punch credits song. Thank you, YouTube.

Does The Darkness count? They're legendary if you ask me, they were a favourite during Winter time with their popular festive tune called Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End). New groove is this one I just recently checked out: But 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love' IS love. U-U Classic. Good to see you go through with this thread. (y)

Edited the thread title for you. Not 100% sure on the facts but Utada Hikaru is fluent in English and has English releases for America and Europe (surely if 'Merica, yes?) in her discography. Sarah Alainn has various cultural ties and is clearly not Japanese (she's Australian iirc) and sings Japanese and can do covers and has original songs in other languages outside of English and Japanese. That goes for Liv Akane too, who has even more connections between cultures and has sung in not just Japanese and English. ^ Fixed. XP

Hella neat thread! Any thread about lyrics is an instant thumbs up from me! Damn it, there's so many to choose from! I have a big ass file with a load of translated songs and albums I have printed. >.> Loving the lyrics from your favourites. I'll be using the same format for my picks below~ Honorable mentions goes to: (so many...) awoi, first, because their songs are always amazing with totally awesome lyrics, but on paper, it looks quite repetitive and probably doesn't look all that effective unless you listen while reading along xD I'm going to say D'espaires Ray and DELUHI are another two I'll just mention because like awoi, I don't think their lyrics looks all that impressive in text but super effective when reading while listening. Versailles have SO MANY segments I'd love to include too. ;; I was so close to including Utada Hikaru too because she is more than deserving of her song writing praise. ANYWAY, here ya go, aha~ Ryutaro of Plastic Tree (surprise, surprise~ well.. pretty much all the dudes should be mentioned here tbh) (lyric credit: bloompsychedelicdream) When I send down love, you’re my rain; when I compose love, you’re my song When I smile at love, you’re my Pierrot; when I stray from love, where are you? When I fall into love, you’re my trap; when I peek at love, you’re my hell When I strengthen love, who is it for? Hey– ^ There's SO many options with this one, it was hard to pick just a small segment but I thought that'd be the best before I spam. Romantic, bittersweet and poetry like, this is just what Taro ordered. One of my favourite songs because of its sound, as well as for its gorgeous lyrics. Gackt (lyric credit: amaia) The earth goes on forever, everything is beautiful the season when you closed your eyes is passing by Even now, the sadness won't vanish, but the world I longed for is beginning At the end of my sadness, I found it at last I held the flower named "you" close The love overflows and it overwhelms me… If I am reborn, let it be by your side You are the irreplaceable flower ^ Bit more text than I intended but this whole song is a feel trip from start to end like the majority of his songs. Love it for its emotional value. Takanori Nishikawa (Abingdon Boys School) (lyric credit: gacktpause) I'll sacrifice everything for you now If it comes true Your request to just be guaranteed warmth Don't let go of my hand ... Regardless of where you are, I'll bring this feeling Overflowing as it is I'll take you along with me, far away So don't look at me with those eyes I'll sacrifice this life of mine for your sake Because we met each other Those bygone days will never return, but even so never let go of my hand ^ Love, love, love his lyrical work in ABS. It plays beautifully in my head when reading the lyrics along with listening to the song. hyde (l'arc en ciel) (lyric credit: hanithelightoflove) I'm so happy that I was able to meet you in one of the corners of this ever changing world The emotions seemed to overflow and I couldn't put them into words If I can meet you again someday I wonder if I'd be able to tell you better? I'll overshoot that distant rainbow Good luck my way, on the path I believe in ----------------------------------------------------------------- Riding on the winds we fly, towards a place somewhere different Crossing oceans, crossing times, it will certainly bloom Like the sun, for all the days for all the time I want to protect you I want to shine on you And always like that dazzling sun, I will defend you from all the darkness, This is the truth from my heart. ^ Two song samples because I couldn't help myself. Kinda sappy, but too adorable and positive, I just love it. Lacroix Despheres (lyric credit: lacroixdespheres) Now Even your kindness, even your warmth, and your everything I will hold with my hands Even your pain, and even the unforgettable grief disappeared in the distant night ^ Really fits there whole style, and it goes together with the whole music like a charm. Motoo Fujiwara of BUMP OF CHICKEN (lyric credit: utau-inu) We’re scared, you and me to look at ourselves, to have others see us or to see into others but we send out this mayday like a prayer from the depths of the part of ourselves that we drown the signal sounds out deep in a chamber of the heart so this is where you were, come here, don’t run away once i’ve found where it’s coming from, I’ll give you this kiss It’s from yourself, I’ve kept it for you. Do I have the courage? Once my hand takes yours I’ll take you outside without letting go, you can trust me Will my breath hold out until we get outside the heart to where it shines When I finally breathe again, it will be together with you ^ One of my favourite songs because of the continuous, story like portrayal of the 'drowning' theme. Executed perfectly, it's an unforgettable song once you read over its lyrics. Yūki Ozaki of Galileo Galilei (lyric credit: wingedsheep) The world spread out, we're right here A thousand colors are blending little by little I can stay myself You can stay yourself We'll never forget that flower's color Its colors will never fade ^ Second best to BOF if you ask me. Just as charming lyrics on the cute and positive side, also has a metaphorical meaning behind it which is always a plus. Yojiro Noda of RADWIMPS (lyric credit: masitata) I've already decided that we'll sleep in the same bed, even when we're 50 Maybe if we hold hands, we'll become one, and we'll never be apart for the rest of our lives Let's keep dreaming like this, pretending we'll never wake up But then again, it's called a "dream" because we wake up from it, right? Then let's name it something else You can be called "lo" and I can be called "ve" Then, it won't seem like we could ever part! I'll write a song about that one day ... Even if it's astrology, or a bad luck year, Or if I'm from jupiter, and you're from mars, No matter what you say, I'm from earth. And even if I were from jupiter, you're only a planet away. I'll use my once in a lifetime warp right here. ^ One of my FAVOURITE lyrics right here. Everything about this is the sweetest thing ever, I just want my partner to sing this to me every night. Masafumi Gotoh of ASIAN KUNG FU GENERATION You may get sad It may get painful You may let out a sigh You may become miserable You may start thinking about mortality But let's keep on breathing Open up Your heart What's there to feel guilty about? Why is it so difficult for us? Shine With your words Cause that's what counts Reach out into the darkness, no matter how far Go ^ I always forget how inspiring their lyrics are and how much they mean to me. Takahiro Moriuchi of ONE OK ROCK Although time passes and we get older These are irreplaceable treasures That cannot be seen for form has nothing to do with it They are my most precious memories Now and always... So everybody ever be buddies Days we grew up are days we will treasure Everybody show is beginning curtain has risen Make your own storyline Dream as if you will live forever And live as if you'll die today ^ An important message. These guys can always pull off wonderful lyrics and meaningful masterpieces. Phew, there we go!

'BUMP OF CHICKEN, THE COLDPLAY OF JAPAN' I am personally insulted.

THE queen. I enjoy a lot more female Japanese singers but I find Chara irreplacable. Her voice, lyrics, style, music videos, everything with her is always spot on. Other favourites off the top of my head are Aimer and all the lovely ladies that have worked/work with supercell's ryo. All favourites (I have too many to I'll leave this post with just these mentions ).

I'll buy any that are at a reasonable price but I'm assuming the majority of these old titles, if not all of them, have a heavy bounty on them. Emulator it is~ I know I've got a Wii, PSP and PlayStation ones and will attempt at getting the older lot sorted too. I think I've dled an SNES and two more. I'm new to these older consoles so their names are escaping me atm. XD Ah, time to get spending again then! It's been a while since I've touched the PS2. Thanks a bunch!

omgg. bless you. I've been hunting for lists and totally forgot about wiki in the heat of the moment.

Firstly, thank you, @CAT5 for your constant commitment and improvements to this. This revamp has been the best yet! @Zeus, it's terrific seeing THE BLACK SWAN being commented on, especially by yourself. I have yet to get to the release, but it sounds well worth it as expected. @emmny, brilliant to have you. That's a real neat blurb, and while I can't say much at all on DEZERT, bless you on including them, it's a great choice. @fitear1590, LILI LIMIT, instant thumbs up. That was a wonderful release, they just keep getting it on point. koochewsen always sounds lovely, it's cool seeing them reaching more people thanks to @doombox and @seurong as you've said! LUCKY TAPES and LONDBOY are new to me, and now I'm going to have to go on a hunting spree for more from both! @CAT5, I'm rather interested in METAFIVE with your comments on it including @doombox's play of them in dub. I'll certainly check that album out at some point. ATATA sounds right up your street, and is something I'd like to listen to more of. I wasn't expecting those vocals, I really like what I'm hearing. As you know with NakamuraEmi, I enjoyed that album. It certainly flowed and was organised well. You picked a super neat number too. Really deserving of more recognition. Unfortunately, Galileo Galilei I couldn't get into. It's a nice album but not compared to their earlier works if you ask me. It's quite different and therefor rather far off from what I love from them that I can't embrace it fully. A wonderful pick if I just block out it's Galileo Galilei. XD It's a bittersweet moment, ok ;; Thank you @yakihiko for your double contribution! Matenrou Opera is really getting on my good side recently, they seem to be improving all the time.

So I've got a question for you guys after looking into RPG classics. I stumbled upon a question: What do you think is the best console for RPGs (JRPGs to be more precise)? The majority of RPGs I have is on Nintendo DS, while the least is the Wii. I know of The Last Story, Xenoblade and Pandora's Tower, but that's all I can think of. The xbox has so little, I've looked around various times for more RPGs games for it but it's always the same ten or so. I've heard there's more than plenty of the PS1 and PS2, and even the PS3 has a healthy dose of them, as well as the PS4 with the majority of hyped, upcoming RPG releases. But then there's the forgotten consoles or, well, outdated ones. Those classic games like Secret of Mana and Terranigma originally for the SNES seems to usually be the picked option for this question. There's also GameCube and the various Game Boy consoles too with all that Mario love and various other stand outs, both franchise ones and one off games. There's so much to cover. I'm curious really because I want to try out those older, often called classic games, like Earthbound and Mother. I really hate how I'm unable to do PC/mobile games because I've heard good things about both and especially the latter. But as for classics, surely it's more for the older consoles like Genesis, Saturn and Dreamcast right? I'm just really interested in getting round to those games I missed out on. Also, I've been playing Ys Strategy and the regret is strong on purchasing. XD I always end up getting the weakest of franchise games lol. I'm really not in favor of the system they've implemented in it. Is it the same for their other games? I always end up getting games within a franchise not that based on the reception, but on what console (I'm too much of a DS fan .-.) I've got this on my computer now thanks to you. XD Even though I've never watched five minutes of the show, this sounds more than worthwhile. Last thing I want to comment on is surely I can't be the only one still eyeing up Fire Emblem Fates? It looks like it's going to be super expensive, with three games and DLC too. Has anyone else seen the news on the touching/skinship mini game being removed from localized versions? Honestly I am sad that's been removed, I hate it when stuff is altered since you're not getting the whole package, but I still find it hilarious how bothered everyone is by it. XD ...ok it does look questionable (even more so) when you're watching someone else doing it....

I have such a love/hate relationship with Naruto. Probably growing up has made me realize how not so creative Kishimoto is. The fact that he leaves out even Sakura as one of the series' leads and not give her many good factors just because you're 'not good with female characters' is annoying. And don't get me started on all the supporting characters like the other teams. When was the last time Tenten even spoke? It's super irritating once you start noticing all of that, and it's not like even Naruto gets many new improvements or upgrades. it's literally 'MASSIVE SPIRAL ATTACK GETS BIGGER' every time. XD But keep enjoying, I'm just ranting now lol. I admit I did end up reading and completing the whole manga, which was worthwhile since it was the only long running series I've been with for years. Too bad they seem to be miling the cow? All those spin offs, I just can't be bothered anymore. X'D Punch Line I really liked the look of, and I love that opening song, but I'm in an agreement even in just episode one that it seems muddled. That's too bad with such well done art and music, and I've read comments on people either hating or loving it, with someone saying it's 'the underrated gem of last season'. I dunno though, wish I could give it another shot but I'm adminent because there's so much else to get to.

lol, she's acted here and there, I forgot to mention that, so it's neat to know of someone else who has noticed her in a movie!I purchased St Trinian's and watched it just for her... big mistake. XD She's surprisingly good at acting though, as you've said. Such a bad movie for anyone to appear in, aha.
-
.-. heh Her whole discography to be exact... I was pretty late getting to purchasing music, digitally and physically, but I remember first doing it physically because I listened to English artists for a good few years as a pre-teen and still have those few CDs from my old favourite musicians. What followed were already mentioned picks like Good Charlotte and Linkin Park.

Off the top of my head: There's something so damaging about Lacey's voice which I adore. It brings across those pained emotions portrayed in the band's music, and that's something I really appreciate with Lacey's way of singing. It's what makes Flyleaf distinctive and timeless if you ask me. As for a solo pick, it'd have to be Ellie Goulding now that I think about it. It's really too bad her music is such a bore but she has one of the best, if not the best voice in current mainstream music. Forget Adele, Goulding's voice is soft, lush and effortlessly gorgeous, she deserves to make much better music that suits it. I'd enjoy her much more. The song closest to how I'd like her to sing more often is 'Love Me Like You Do', acoustic version. I'll edit this with more picks once I think over it.

WHY... HOW NO RESPONSES!? D: PLASTICZOOMS are my favourite band alongside Plastic Tree (too many biases...). Their music is always flawless, and their albums are perfection, I don't know how they do it. And Asakawa's monotone vocal work is always captivating and different and works like a dream against their sounds. A recent discovery of mine with them is 'Pink Snow' which is quickly becoming one of my favourite songs from them. My favourite releases from them are Starbow and Secret Postcard, with Charm close behind. If I had to pick favourite tracks, it'd have to be between 'Cry.Distance.' and 'Sleepwalker'.

The most magical of all magical creatures. <3

I was itching to make this thread. The only English artist I actively follow, Paloma Faith has made an impression on me ever since I heard 'New York', her second single. She's released three albums, and I feel as if she grows with each one. The improvement between each is really amazing and shows her getting better as a singer and songwriter. She's known for her vibrant outfits and bubbly personality. I'd suggest her to those who also like Amy Winehouse (I'd also link similar lyrics too) and Duffy because of their similar pitches. Faith is both quirky and adorable when off the mic as you can see here (as well as her usual attire), and when singing, the contrast between her spoken and singing voice is both humorous and endearing. It'd make my day seeing other fans who might be here, but if not, hopefully you'll enjoy her if you're new to her.
