    wouldn't the simpler explanation be that it's a clear-cut case of harassment, and Rio went to the police to attempt to get the girl to stop circulating the contents and/or have them removed? (the phrasing in the blog was "[The girl with whom I was involved] started exposing photos from the time we were together. The police launched investigations when I consulted them on this matter, which led to this incident.")

     

    so it wasn't the case that Rio felt compelled to go to the police to "turn himself in" for something that he knew would be eventually exposed in a bid to get a more lenient sentence (at least, nothing in the information we currently have is indicative of this scenario). if the information about the fake ID is correct, he wouldn't have been aware that he had flouted the law in the first place since he thought the girl was of legal age.

    their old band was called A≠ris :) 

     

    i'm not big on labels but i'd say they're what's usually called a "kira" visual kei band.

    ^ There were 2 blog posts, one by Rio and one by the band's official account. The contents of both are similar (half of Rio's post was an extended apology) - except in Rio's post he mentioned the girl was circulating photos of them, and in the other one it mentioned she was disclosing the contents of their LINE conversations and letters.

     

    As for the whole fake ID thing, I'm not sure if that's merely "Rio's version" of the story since (i) you'd think the official account would have verified it from a more reliable source than someone who's an alleged suspect in the case to avoid further embarrassment; and (ii) if there had been substantial discrepancies and/or reasonable doubt in Rio's account (it's a quite a bold claim after all) I doubt he would have been released so quickly.

    Apparently Rio went to the police because the girl had been circulating their photos online when he wanted to part ways with her, upon which they found out that she was actually underage. Previously the girl had shown Rio an ID which indicated that she wasn't below 18, but it surfaced during the investigations that she had been passing off another person's ID as her own.

     

    Because of this incident Rio will abstain from band activities until further notice.

    unpopular opinion probably, but i actually feel bad for rio.

     

    in situations like this (i.e. nothing in the article suggests there's any duress/force involved) it's always the guy (well, the "adult", lolol) who's charged and the girl gets away unscathed. statutory rape laws are one of those extremely blunt tools that give zero regard to circumstantial considerations, and whose technicality make them ridiculously easy for people to exploit to ruin another's life if they wanted to. was there force? was there mutual consent? had the girl orchestrated everything with the intent to lie and then sabotage the guy after the act? none of that matter, except an age arbitrarily stipulated by the law.

    BLaive will hold their last oneman for their current lineup on 2017.08.14 at Takadanobaba CLUB PHASE, after which  Vo.ヨウ(Yoh), Gt.レイ(Rei) will depart. Rei will also retire from musical activities after that.

     

    They will hold their 2nd anniversary oneman on 2017.06. 05 at Shinsaibashi Paradigm.

     

    Their best album "色彩Guraduation" (2 types) will be released on 2017.06.21.

    I haven't tried ordering from there cos I got it from their live but it seems like you have to contact them to add it to your cart though (try the お問い合わせ button). Maybe someone can try and let the rest of us know? :) 

     

    Oh and taro didn't leave the band, he "graduated" and changed his stage name to tsukimi lol.
