Got it comrade, gonna check these ones asap. Thanks.

Hopefully we'll get some news before the end of the year.

Their hiatus makes me sad somehow, basically for the reason you mentioned. Let's hope his project is worth stopping Battlelore activities for a long time and see what happens in the future.

So they somehow went mainstream, I should have guessed that this was the reason (even if I haven't tried all their early stuff yet)... That doesn't bother me anyway, as they still awesome. Yeah I dig the drums on that new album too, awesome drummer. Really loved that new album.   Otherwise, currently I also listen to some black/thrash metal bands. Awesome stuff.       lml Still need to discover other bands tho.

I'm not defending some of his other actions, but how does Kiwamu telling you that a live distributed CD you wanted to buy is only available at lives make him bad at contributing to the overseas fandom? That is what a live distributed CD is. It's supposed to make more people come to the band's shows because they can't get it anywhere else.

^ Basically Kiwamu is known to be an immature asshole. There were reports of him smashing people's cameras at concerts (because "no photo" policy), throwing temper tantrums at concert staff (this also includes literally throwing a plastic chair at an innocent staff member) and generally being a dickhead (like advising his fans to buy merchandise instead of bringing him gifts cuz he knows they got the money if they can afford gifts). xD

He runs two interjoining record labels so this makes him arch-dickhead-deluxe as well. Best story is when GPK (from GPKism) shared a photo on Myspace where Kiwamu was featured with his not too flattering facial expression... Kiwamu forced GPK to apologize, take it down and ultimately disable his access to his own profile for a while, lol.

I guess he likes to think his band BLOOD is hot shit but in reality they're rly just a sub-par goth kei group (with a handful of nice songs no less, tho).

And that's the thing. Church of Misery have had something like 7-8 guitarists, 4-5 vocalists and a few drummers. So Church of Misery losing a few members don't say much. It might take time to get the new members aboard, but that shouldn't be too hard for a band with Church of Misery's status. And throughout Church of Misery's history, there's never been a unique guitarist or drummer. They've all been replaceable. Tatsu's bassing however, it 70% of this band's sound. So as long as he stays, as we know he will, it won't be a problem.

Jigsaw9 got a reaction from Original Saku in Church of Misery loses members / recording new album!
According to the band's official Facebook, all members except Tatsu Mikami (bassist) have left Church of Misery in the past months. However, Tatsu ensured everyone that the band will continue, as he is the sole writer of music/lyrics... and the band will hopefully have a new album out (plus tours) next year when new members are gathered.

    Let's stay hopeful!

Finally, after much customs-related hassle I managed to get the two new SPEECIES albums in the mail, plus JUBILEE's album (that I've been searching for like a year... turns out Sadie doesn't read his FB messages too often, lmao) and a ton of stickers for both bands and for what looks like...a biker gang?? XD Oh, and there's a super weird privilege CD for the SPEECIES albums that is literally a recording of 6-year-old Sadie singing a song. xDDD

Had the pleasure of witnessing the awesome natural force known as Swans on stage last night.

The opening act was Pharmakon, a.k.a. some tiny blonde-haired gurrl who went mental for half an hour on great slabs of noise often generated from her breaths and screams, but she had some primitive percussive aid as well. Sometimes she got down and walked around the audience while screaming, it was a bit creepy but a good noisy intro to the gig I guess.

Then came the stars of the evening. At first, only two members of Swans were on stage, riling up the atmosphere with some noisy dulcimer 'n' cymbals droneyness, and then gradually the other musicians made their way up and took their places. Honestly, the first 20 mins or so were a bit taxing but once I "got into the groove" (i.e. getting used to all the repetition and slowly blooming aural pieces) it was pretty sweet. The band sure is a presence of its own. I loved the building of tension and the fluctuation between quiet and extremely loud parts. It had a kind of tribal vibe to it, totally massive. We applauded them for like 5 mins in the end, haha (rightfully so: the gig lasted for almost exactly 2.5 hours!). Excellent night.

Last week I went to Java Soundsfair 2014, watched Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra. Pretty good live, they were so energetic and fun, especially the guitarist!

Even I don't like ska, but they were cool, lucky me can watch them

There were many artists line up tho, including local band and international act

And yesterday there was an event, Japan Festival in Indonesia 2014, participating artists are Hiroaki Kato, Gypsy Queen, Sunplaza Nakano,Ryutaro Makino, and the last, BLU-SWING XD, pic are below:

Had chance to get BLU-SWING signed cd

and take pic with them XD

They promoted japanese jazz club in Japan, looks like very interesting place to drop by. Ugh and I hope I can watch BLU-SWING's live with full member in the future!

Ok everyone, I apologize for the extremely short notice, but I'm scheduling a plug session for tomorrow, Sunday Novemer 2nd @ 8PM - 10PM UTC.

I think this will be our first actually scheduled plug session. So depending on how it goes, we can determine if it's something we want to implement regularly. Hope to see you all there! ^^

Totes agree with proper core thing. A lot of VK bands tend to do half ass on metal and the likes and just runs it into the ground with bad boring generic riffing and overuse of power chords to the max with shitty time sigs. I kinda didn't like yoshiatsu's clean vocals in this song. Sorry bout it!

I've spun the new album a few times now, it is indeed pretty good. Better than what I hoped for, actually. Of course it's a bit overly long and too "thick" at times but it's nice enough. Really has a bit of everything they did so far.
