Maybe he wasn't feeling them either... I don't know about the last mini album and the full-length, but before those the number of Kenichi's songwriting credits were on a steady decline from album to album as far as I could see.

Soooo MERRY just announced that Kenichi (guitars) will be leaving the band in May 2020.
A final tour is in the works as five-piece. Afterwards, MERRY will continue with four members (no word yet on whether they will recruit a support or fulltime 2nd guitarist).
Announcement on YT:
Message from the band:
Quote

Jesus, this sucks... they've been practically together without any member changes for almost 20 years... Hoping for the best!

This album is like a very elaborate joke that gets old not even halfway into it.
One of my more tiring listens in recent memory.
-
Aww yeahh that one's a killer! I actually heard all their discography, just didn't listen to everything too much or too deeply, haha.

I don't know, I think there's still a crazy high amount of bands forming constantly. At least I've always felt it kinda overwhelming, lol.
I mean if you check the first few pages of the News subforum there are like a dozen newly formed bands within the past 3-4 months.

It was okayish, I guess... Feels a bit like a hastily thrown-together skeleton of a song to me tho. The outro was the best part!
edit: A kind soul uploaded the B-side to Youtube, I like this one better! It has those nostalgic B-T melodies~

Hell yeah, that Vader track!
Hell nooo, Absu!
I wasn't a big fan of them or anything, but they always delivered quality (well, mostly anyway). Saw them once live too, really crazy energy! They will be missed.

Great news! They've been pretty consistently solid so far, so looking forward to this release too.

Hell yeah, this Viölence shit is awesome!! Thanks for the recommendation, I'll be sure to check out their stuff (I see they only have a small handful so far).

Anyone check out the album (Rebirth by Blasphemy)? I'm blasting it just now, it's pretty nice! Their last one wasn't too memorable for me, but this one feels like a more proper kick in the balls (in a good way).

I was just about to go here and post the same thing basically, haha. Every bit as great as the first season! It felt too short tho, could've watched it for a few more eps, but not gonna complain because it was all quality all the way.

I swear this was the M. Night Shyamalan of VK reviews (good M. Night, not tired M. Night).

May the power of delicious curry fuel and hasten the recording process.

LMAO @ Toshiya's psychobilly comment. Although the slap bass part he first plays actually sounds kinda like it could fit into a psychobilly song, heh.

Guitarist Kenichi leaving MERRY in late 2020

The old albums had that info in the booklets iirc. I don't have my MERRY CDs with me at the moment so I just quickly ran through that one lyrics translation site, it has the composition credits for everything that is known I guess (probably also taken from the albums' booklets?).
Also yeah, it's weird to imagine the band without Kenichi... I just hope both him and the band will find their ways that will make them happy.
