@nekkichi is correct, and it is also important to consider the culture of the boards as well. Even in the English-speaking world, a report of rape or murder or suicide will be presented in a much different way on Twitter or Tumblr than on say, 4chan or Encyclopedia Dramatica. Tanuki/2ch are extremely blase and candid about sordid topics and sounding "self-pitying" (for lack of better words) would be extremely frowned upon given the board's culture. It is not a nice place. People mock suicide victims and eagerly discuss their desire to commit child abuse. While I understand the reports are just as unverifiable as anything else on Tanuki, it seems irresponsible to make judgments on what a woman's report on this type of thing "should sound like", especially for those who are not familiar with the posting culture & for those who haven't experienced or witnessed the societal and scene-specific issues mentioned in the post above.

cvltic got a reaction from PIZAZ in Which bands/people would be considered iconic/legendary in Visual Kei?
these were the bands i associate with the zeitgeist of mid-late 00s visual kei fandom in the west. only some of them are legendary because they were actually good, but they all defined the era, for me. the bands people were talking about during this time in JP were obviously very different. but nobody specified what kind of legendary we're talking about :^)

Ancafe, D'espairsray, Nightmare, Gazette, Dir, Alice Nine, Miyavi, Kagrra, ReS, Psycho le Cemu, LM.C, SID (Aki fangirls)

Vidoll? Ayabie? D? Versailles? girugamesh (at least the meme)?

this entire comment considering japan's history with sekuhara and its patriarchal culture that doesn't promote any real sex ed and importance of consent is especially rich in the context of visual kei's heavy emphasis on sexual contact between artists and their fans

i was looking for a thread like this to discuss some of the legendary happenings i've been reading about so

-the guy from HenzeL getting pelted with natto during a show and heckled to the point his mom tried to stop them
-KLACK showing a beheading video during a big festival while being the most irrelevant band there
-the time Rentrer en Soi kicked out their guitarist who happened to be Yuuga's brother who impregnated a girl after trying to make him make her get an abortion, and Yuuga got so mad Satsuki had to get on his hands and knees and apologize on stage
-when Koma from kurara zeroshiki stole a song from an ero game and got caught
-when Byou/Toge and Yuuto from JOKER told Kazuhi he had to leave the band right after they did a show
-the time Vogus Image's vocalist accused Tora of stealing their shit, and Tora clapped back by calling him a druggie
-Zipang's entire existence: the head of their label was arrested for meth, and the vocalist said he was so fucked up on drugs that they couldn't even talk to him, so he decided to leave the band. But the label head posted on their site and claimed the vocalist raped someone and ran off with million of yen, and that he had fired them because of it.
-Yukiya from JILS kicking someone for recording a show
-when Sugizo got a parking ticket and said it was like being in Germany under Hitler
-Vidoll writing a whole dramatic song about the time someone posted Rame's email address on tanuki

If I have permission from an admin, then I'll drop the highlights.
Mostly I just don't want anyone to think I'm doing it to smear the bandmen in question or attempting to pass anything off as an absolute truth. The stories about Harcon in particular are generally considered to be a mix of truths, half-truths, exaggerations and total fabrications.

The following is a selection of posts just from this archived Harcon thread:
    http://old.bbs.2ch2.net/admin/readkako.cgi?bbs=visualtanuki&key=1223287368
Byou is called by his real last name throughout the thread, I've replaced it in the translation. Also, some of the content below is disturbing.

I also found some thread about bandmen and fighting but it's mostly about extremely early vk bandmen (RAPES, Charisma, Dynamite Tommy, X, LUNA SEA). I'll come back with those highlights when I have some time!

I've been wanting to write some of this stuff out forever because I'm a huge digital packrat and I like to archive these types of things... I don't think any of this has been written out anywhere before, but I'm not sure how much people actually care about the fan culture part of VK here, especially the Japanese fan culture, and especially the online Japanese fan culture. But, just in case any of you are also level 50 Turbo Nerds I thought I should post it here. I hope this is a sensible place to put it??

this piece is WAY too long for how lame the subject is and i'm so sorry
tl;dr: tanuki is old as fuck and there used to be another tanuki and forums are dead, long live tanuki

edit: fixed a number i screwed up

this is something i'd like to do, maybe give me a few days

i feel like the people who would benefit the most from the document are the people who are interested in the friendship dynamic of the band, or people who want to know more about the circumstances behind AK's return. so, the focus is less the band as a musical unit and more the band as a group of people. if you want music, wait for the Messe DVD/blu-ray. that said i loved it and the clip of AK's triumphant return made me cry lmao

i translated all the lyrics on tumblr if that's of interest to anyone: http://c-u-l-t-i-c.tumblr.com/
lyrically this album isn't as interesting as some past entries (i really liked AVANTGARDE for this), but the GROTESQUE/JØKER pair is interesting, and FAITH + SENSE OF EMPTINESS are up my alley.
