I needed a prime lens, so I decided to go with this.

Really good value, paid $110 for it. I didn't expect the fixed range to be zoomed in so close which forces me to place the cam several feet away from the subject. Aside from that, the optical quality is quite impressive.

I assume you're using a camera with an APS-C size sensor? You have to keep in mind the 1.6x crop factor, so it's actually like a 35mm camera with an 80mm lens.
