  1. Spoiler

火炎瓶 8/10 (great opening track, horribly bad tempo-cut transition between intro and run-of-the-mill main riff, amazing range in vocal variaty)
汚れた豚 6/10 (heard this song already from 10 other bands, still not bad, probably amazing live)
「 」 -まっしろ- 5/10 (boring intro riffs, cool verse, annoying bridge, ai typical chorus)
「悪人」 7/10 ("ok-ish" ballad, +2 for the solo into that little break before the last chorus)
おやすみ。 8/10 (great song, best of the mini)
リビングデッド・エンド 4/10 (recycled riffs, filler song)

For me, adding the bare numbers it would be a somewhat 6/10, however my feeling for the mini as a whole would be more towards a 7-8/10.

The two singles didn't do much for me, many songs sounded the same to me, riffs seemed interchangable, I felt Ai sang the same melody over and over again.. I feel this mini is a big step in the right direction. 火炎瓶 and おやすみ。 together with parts of 「悪人」 are great - the rest sounds mostly forgettable and recycled to me.

As a sidenote: I do not know if I always catched Ai on bad days, but those times I saw KtK live it always seemed that he is not capable of performing more than 20-30 minutes without his voice dissapearing/breaking... I wonder how it is now? I hope he worked on that, would be a shame otherwise I feel, he seemed like a cool guy.

dizSolid - After the Pain & Swallowtail (apparently available on Genka-Market, if anyone uses that/knows a proxy service who does)

I think I still have these 2, but might be cheaper to buy on Genka. When I bought them back in the days at yahoo auctions, just After the Pain alone went up to somewhat 15k yen I think (Swallowtail was somewhat 7000 I think).

  3. The whole song just builds up an atmosphere of tension that is not released. I really dislike such songs, so annoying to listen to. Would only fit if it is conceptually bound to the second song of the mini, e.g. if the second song immediatly bursts the tension.

As a PV song however, horrible.

I am really suprised they seem to constantly use their worst songs for their music videos and release their best songs only on live distributed cds..

  4. Besides 2-3 songs from their first album, 駁-baku- from their 荊海 CODA single is somehow the only song that I can really remember from them and would praise them for. I hope they would do something like that song again.

New PV song just sounds like a slight variation of what they did before. That guitar shredding is just SO boring. Are there any people on this planet anymore that can actually enjoy that crap except guitar otakus?

That way is also stupid. It should be day, month, year. SMALLEST TO BIGGEST.

If you organize things, e.g. files / albums, I think its convenient if they are in order by year, month, day. Otherwise you will have stuff randomly all over the place, no?

ohmygod they literally came in to fill the essence missing in VK at the moment!!!

ended avelcain legacy with the first PV ✔️

ended R-Shitei/mamireta/DDRM with the second ✔️

    the slay.... the slayage...the slaughter....

Second song sounds exaclty like マチルダ so idk what you were listening to. Not only the instrumental, it seems like the singer completely tried to become マチルダs singer with his intonation. Same like he did in the first song, cover Karmas AC intonation.

Just shows you how Eve writes the complete songs as in AC also with the midi/track/intonation for the vocals and tells the band members what to do in each second. Such bots.

I agree tho they fill something missing, I like it in the end.

  7. Retsu: Obviously does only things cause they are trending like most 15 yrs old teens.

retsu: It's also boring if things are trending. We think that DIMLIM is its own musical genre, so we do whatever we want to do.

  8. To be honest I really feel a lot "new" stuff from the guitars/bass in the riffs/techniques (for a lynch song). While the structure is of course typical, I start to wonder if it was just Hazukis fault the last 10 years I felt they had just 3 different songs in 20 variations. I like him but seems he is only able to sing the same melody/do the same scream over and over in every song..?

  9. The "interview" and the questions / things he says are so extremly cringy, I could not watch it to the end. Dude acts like he is 15.

    Q11. Why is that?

A: (?) don’t dress a song (Note: Retsu is saying it’s because he doesn’t flare the musical composition with unnecessary shit, so it’s not overworked I assume)

Among the many problem the album has, each song being packed with unnecessary and retarded sound effects is a big problem. Interesting to read he thinks he already reduced everything down to only important parts.

'Tis good, but the composition sounds awfully familiar, tho I can't quite put my finger on it.

The intro is from a ヴィルシーナ song and the main riff is Diru's 人間を被る (and I think there are even more songs hidden). Chorus sounds like a Damy song recycled.

I really want to like this but he needs to stop reusing so many riffs and start creating his own music..

  11. From all the bands I've seen live over the years, this dude definitly felt like the best drummer I have ever seen in vk. Such intense drumming live, putting the live house on fire. (Never cared for this band on CD tho).

Would really be suprised if his leave has no effect on them. Also due to his band background I can imagine he could have had important connections in the scene that will now be lost. We'll see.

I’m mostly just worn out by Shinya’s unimaginative patterns that aren’t doing this any favors.

How can you still call them worn out when you complain about his drumming since, idk 5+ years now? It seems to be his style by now, get over it or stop listen to them.

I am not a drummer but damn, this same sentence complaining about him every time in every thread for so many years now gets kind off annoying to read.

  13. In Dortmund his vocal performance was great imo (good live overall soundwise). However everyone in the band looked really tired / not enjoying the live at all i felt. Die really looked strained the entire time, while in 2018 if remembering him smiling a lot. (Cant blame them with that schedule..)

I was positively suprised about the much less amount of cringe I felt from the fans around me compared to previous years. Still, Dortmund had some really annoying drunk guys screaming random words all the time (well, that can happen at any live..). Audience size about same like 2018 / little less than 2015 i felt.

  14. You could've played this song blindly to me and I would've asked if Eve produced this. The atmopshere/instrument patterns are exactly like in AvelCain, the singing is exactly like in AvelCain. Shows you how they can just put in any dudes and make a decent sounding band out of it just like in those popgroups. I wonder if the guitarist this time can play the simple powerchords live?

Still looking forward to them. Love how they featured Birds, great movie.

i'd  much, MUCH rather take this noodly math rock stuff over deathcore any day of the week for sure, so from that POV i'm definitely not as disappointed with the samples as I could've been (plus I'm somewhat glad we didnt get any xXx_sadboigoth_xXx shit thrown at us, as unintentionally hilarious as that would've been).. At the same time, anyone who's ever listened to even a bit of non-vk j-indie probably knows this particular brand of pop math rock sound has already been done to death in that scene  to about the same extent the nu-VK scene's dredged the swamp of mediocre xxxcore-influenced sounds, so I can't really see this ending up being anything other than yet another album to add to the ''vaguely sounds like cinema staff/sokoninaru/the cabs/tricot'' pile based on the samples.

The "deathcore" style done in a good way (emphasis on done in a good way) is what I see the majority of people want to hear

(as in most oversea fans (I do know in the idk 10 years you state your dislike for it that you arent one of those ;)), I feel japanese fans seem not care how a band sounds as long as it sounds 'good' and focus more on the bandmember look/behavior)

The harsher/darker style done in a really good way in vk (that isnt dir) seems always missing in the scene since the bands doing it well enough change to a style that is, as you already wrote, done to death. Still good music, just creating a void again and forces people to listen to those 2nd, 3rd tier shit like Nazare etc.
