  1. Well, honestly NIGHTMARE was much more well recieved than Majestical Parade in my experience. The funny thing is that people that disliked NIGHTMARE claimed that Majestical was  better. And when SCUMS came around people disliked it and said NIGHTMARE was better. This has happened with this band since The World Ruler. People said it was crap compared to Anima when it was released but TWR brought a lot of people in to the fanbase that crapped all over Killer Show when it came out, and then Majestical. This trend seem to have stopped since To Be or Not to Be wich has been less disliked than SCUMS in my experience, same with Carpe Diem, that was more praised that TBoNtB.

  2. i can only rmb him doing support for Lustknot at one live before their hiatus when yuki was having problems, although i guess i won't really consider that (or a one-day revival) as being 'active'.

anyway i'd love to see him sing in a full band again but part of me is just glad that he hasn't vanished entirely from the scene..

I honestly can see heartless back at it again. I would like more if he joined Akira in a new band since Junno is retired, but I'm afraid Akira is pretty much blacklisted.

  3. This should be called lens flare rock. All I heard were a bunch of fads that are not really that pretty or interesting. Just like lens flares.

The clip also uses tons of fake lens flare, but I totally did not pick the idea from that. I was just thinking about... soundscapes.

  4. I don't think you're going to ever agree on this, DogMan, bada. Nightmare albums have been pretty consistent on their quality imo so favorites and hated ones are mostly a matter of personal inclination towards the styles they have been exploring thoughout the years. The only exception would be Anima that seem loved by most if not all Nightmare's fans.

I honestly would recomend Nightmare or To Be or not To Be before Scums. As an entry point Libido is probably the safest to go with. It's neither their best or their worst and it's not overly thematic or all over the place like other works of theirs so people cant get a decent most common denominator style for their music from listening to it.

  5. SCUMS was not a good introduction to them for me.  I haven't been very interested in them since.  I know I need to check out earlier stuff, but I haven't yet.  SCUMS made them come across to me as a band that's trying too hard to be different...and, well, it's strange.

It's probably their weirdest album and absolutely not their best. I suggest you try any other work of theirs, there is quite a lot to choose from.
